Damn these two guys never can stop encountering each other. It's like fate destined them to meet most of the time.
Sad to see Fatality's run ends this way, with YET AGAIN a rough loss against Kola. Each time I have hopes because it doesn't feel impossible, but it looks like you have to play perfect while Roy needs to do way less to kill regularly at like 80. Maybe the Kazuya will be the answer... one day...
Still, 13th out of 2400 entrants, far exceeding his 32nd seed, beating three higher ranked PGR players on the way (Myran, Bassmage and Cosmos) and doing really well against Leo... that was quite a monster run from Fatality. He's in the best form he's ever been in this game, despite what people want to believe.
Watch Fatality mastering Kazuya and 3-0 Kola just like Riddles did a little ago

Hope they publish the games against Bassmage, Cosmos and Myran. I wanna see them! Anyway, I agree with basically anything you said. It doesn't feel possible to be solo-falcon main in this meta.

Leo has like 10 characters that he can beat fatality with. Kola just plays fatality more and knows his playstyle to a T. Similar to MkLeo vs Maister
Everyone train to beat Leo, everyone have his eyes on him, playstyle, mistakes, movement etc. The fact that he still at the very top with the constant changing meta is impressive.

Fatality is elite but hes no god. Kola is god tier hes brought leo to game 5 and competes with him very well. Leo is the GOD KING of course Kola aint gonna really beat him

With Falcon's Dair being -7 on shield and most of Roy's out of shield options being 6-7 start up its easy punish.
Fatality should short hop, cross up Bair.
The ending positioning is better and it's mildly safer at -5/-7 on shield.

After Fatality went into Losers, i was anxious to see his next match on here... when I saw it was against Kola, though... I knew his run was over. I haven't seen Fatality beat Kola in a VERY long time. Oh well... Not that I know if it would've made much of a difference against Kola specifically --since Kola has such a good record against Fatality--, but...hopefully someday he'll pick up a secondary and actually STICK WITH IT. Solo Falcon just straight up can't get the job done. Ik he claims Kazuya is his new attempt at a secondary, but he's called so many characters potential secondaries since the Smash 4 days, and he literally NEVER sticks to it. He's a Falcon loyalist to a fault :(

I’m inthralled in the action of this fast paced matchup, then I hear something stupid from commentary that breaks my attention. And I think to myself “oh that must be MaxKetchum”.
Sucks that of Fatality’s great run, basically the only match we see is him getting bodied by Kola again…

TBH thats more Fatality dropping leads and games that is Kola winning the entire set. Dont get me wrong ! Kola is one of my favourite player to watch but Fatality keeps playing bad interactions he shouldnt do with Falcon

@@DavionLane Damn right, what's worse is you can get the most visually cracked low knees on shield and they still won't be safe. I think only the tightest window possible is safe vs some characters and even then maybe not.
Pretty glad I'm retired because Falcon really does feel uphill sometimes in this engine. He works great some games and matchups and others he doesn't function at all.

Fatality will continue to lose until he realizes what falcons burst options are for and how to time and space them. He cannot just run in and bounce around in neutral trying to make a clip. Kola gets away with so, so much. Hard to watch
I don't really agree, Kola plays this mu perfectly. He's like a machine in the falcon mu, like Fatality doesn't really have a Roy problem he's got a Kola problem. It's sad at this point, I don't even know how you'd begin labbing this one.

@@spreadwuvokay Kola doesn't play the match up perfectly he spams quick aerials and its just enough to back fatality into a corner. Fatality holds forward and jump around on shield 90% of the time running into the aerial abuse and this is why it seems like the matchup gets progressively worse.. its fatalitys spirit crumbling because he can't just play how he wants to play or play how apparently is satysfying for him. Ranged falcon kick to Roy mid air/ (spammed) aerials, mid-range and or retreat raptor boosts roy airborne where he doesnt want to be vs falcon, falcons cross up potential, it just makes no sense that kola is literally just doing whatever he wants because his pressure is not being contested properly. It's a hard take to make when fatality is such an amazing player but it's just so blatantly an issue. Things don't have to be this bad for falcon. Fatality and captain falcon deserve better. I believe he can easily overcome this matchup.
Gosh fatality sucks and never adapts, how many times is he gonna lose against a Roy to realise he's not good enough with that character to heat Kola or Mugen.
