It is a lonely and dreary life prepping this footage. A little kindness would go a long way!
    'FAMILY JEWELS'
In this clip James Sinclair was showing some of the simple Wing Chun leg techniques that are used to block and intercept basic kicks. James was working freely and then decided to record off the cuff.
Now before everyone gets all high and mighty and upset and spits out their dummy, throws the toys out of the pram/stroller etc...!!!
Yes we all know #WingChun practitioners should cramp up the distance and prevent kicks in the first place....
However, you MIGHT, just MIGHT meet someone who won't let you get that close.
The idea was to deal with messy kicks, coming from the ground, not particularly primed.
James has used these skills on high level kickers, in his younger years. This is just a faded memory or shadow of his ability now that he closes in on his 7th decade of life.
The first gentleman Ryan Moyce www.norfolkwingchun.uk had a bad knee and no groin guard, so there is a lot of caution and hesitancy in applications.
The second gentleman Adrian Downes www.bedfordwingchun.co.uk was wearing a groin guard and knew how to fall as he was a high level Jiu Jitsu practitioner. Hence James could react with a little less caution, and still keep it safe.
This was not rehearsed or set in any way. Hence the mistakes, mistiming and hestitations.
At times there were a lot of stop kicks so this has only been edited to allow you to see a greater variety of the #ukwckfa Wing Chun leg techniques in a shorter time.
Part of the session was filmed at very fast frame rates. We left some at normal speed.
Kicking to the groin is an effective tool in the Art, and with a little adaptation, and plenty of practice is quite practical too.
Thanks have to go to Adrian and Ryan for trusting the control of the techniques not to damage the 'Family Jewels'.

Very nice! nice to see recognisable technique applied, eg double laap (and more)

Supremely practical. Would be interested to see a vid focusing on how WC kicks can be used to neutralize a skilled boxer.
