    Details on which test this was, please. Was some beautiful footage, but historical information on the shot would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

    I prefer to see these with no sound at all. The visuals are enough.
    Realistic sound that doesn't follow Hollywood tropes would be really strange for most people anyway, with the delayed blasts and winds and shockwaves not sounding as expected.

      If you say so and know what "most people" would think is strange. Have you polled "most people" or is this simply total speculation on your part?

      @@buckhorncortez If you want to be an @ss about it just look up 'Hollywood Sound Cliches' I'm not going to do your homework for you. 'Reality is Unrealistic' is a trope for a reason, people is more familiar with explosions on the screen than in real life, unless you happen to live in a country destroyed by war which is none in the Western Hemisphere.

      @buckhorncortez same could be said...have you polled "most" people. You literally are making the same clame as them.

    The AI restoration is fairly good but does still seem a bit fuzzy. Still some tweaking needed in the algorithms I think. Nice footage though, thanks for sharing, ATC!

    That is incredible. I wonder what keeps it going?
    At the end, the roiling cloud at the top.
    What keeps that going with so much energy?

      The fireball is still hot enough that the density with in the cloud is lighter than air. When the fire seems to be gone there is still a hot core making it rise, until eventually it disperses as it reaches equilibrium with the surrounding air.

      Very few of these color films were captured with sound.
      They were captured as stock footage to be used in government report films.

    I wonder why all available shots of Crossroads Able taken from the towers mounted on Bikini Island never show the explosion in its entirety in a central position but always moved, as if it were out of focus. Perhaps it was due to the fact that the bomb greatly missed its intended target. in this case it must have been a very serious mistake given the economic investment of the project and the fact that the cameras mounted on the tower were not mobile nor controlled by a cameran.

    • @Geckobane
      @Geckobane Месяц назад

      If memory serves they missed by about 700 feet

    • @danieledallapozza814
      @danieledallapozza814 Месяц назад +1

      @@Geckobane yep. And i suppose that's the reason there's no frontal view of Crossroads Able taken by towers on Bikini Island. Camera on towers were automatically fixed in direction of the expected target. Actually the only clear and frontal videos of this shot are the aerial ones, where the camera was managed by staff on board who could maneuver and appropriately correct it.
