Aside from putting on an amazing show- Trombone Shorty had the most amazing impromptu recovery I've ever seen. Red Rocks, CO, a storm threatens the front range on a perfect summer night, warm with a bit of a breeze and lighting behind the stage. Suddenly lighting strikes in Morrison and the power goes out, as the light dies, Shorty comes in with a raw, powerful trombone solo. The crowd is silent, everyone in awe of this man belting out so powerfully and incredibly for minutes on end- after about 9 minutes, the lights come back on, the band comes back end and the crowd roars. So good... those are the moments we live for... and he wasn't even the headliner. Thank you Trombone Shorty.
I know this is 2 years old but holy cow!!! and at Red Rocks! I have only visited but have never seen a show there. I have seen many great shows through the years but can only imaging seeing some of my favorites at such a magical venue. Your Trombone Shorty concert had to be epic. Thanks for sharing that story!!!
I wonder how often he blows the headliners out of the water. The man is a legend. The show is impossible to dislike. Musicianship and showmanship beyond any reasonable fairness in one person, let alone the whole band.
Saw them tonight opening for Gov’t Mule. I am a huge Warren Haynes fan but I have to say the number they did with TBS was undoubtedly their best of the night, even better than his slide work during the opener. He should be a much bigger star than he is given his talent and showmanship. The chemistry of the current lineup is as good as any band I’ve ever seen in 40 years of watching live music
Had no idea who Trombone Shorty was but we were in Denver and I wanted my daughter to see Red Rocks - so we went to this concert, maybe the best show I've ever see - top 5 for sure - amazing!
These guys are BAD ASS! A little bit of Funk, a little bit of Jazz, a little bit of Rock, a little bit of Soul, a little bit of Rap, a little bit of Blues, and even a little bit of Reggae! They got it ALL! THEY ROCK!
You got that right. I'm an old school diehard rock/blues/metal guy, and when I saw them on Austin City Limits they blew me away. This is good music right here. Tight structure, great back beat, with some excellent guitar work peppered in on occasion. This has it all. Extremely hard to find in this day and age of auto-tuned weak-lunged 'artists' the mainstream music moguls keep trying to shove down our throats.
If you haven't seen them live you have got to go. Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave are the GOAT. To this day, and into the future this concert is still groovin'.
patric t. murphy Check out the rest of his extended family - all the Glen Andrews's (there are a bunch of cousins all named Glen Andrews in various bands around New Orleans). Glen David Andrews is the best known. James Andrews is Shorty's older brother, a wonderful trumpet player. Shorty worked a long time getting this group polished to where he wanted it, and it shows. In New Orleans it seems that there is never one musician in a family so check out the Batiste family, especially Jon Batiste and Stay Human. I love this music!
patric t. murphy Right? I discovered him on the Foo Fighters Sonic Highway series - I had the same reaction. I saw him in Denver and it blew my mind. Fantastic.

@@daniegurl415 I'm so jealous. I want to see them live so bad. I'm really looking forward to when we're able to go to concerts again. This group will be the first one I buy tickets for.
Trombone shorty is an iconic New Orleans musician that really embodies the spirit of new Orleans jazz and will be around for as long as there is a city to call it home!!!

I have never seen nor heard a concert be so full of constant life and raw talent. Truly one of the most put together concerts Every single one of you is just incredible. The guitar work in particular is out of this worlllld
I did not know you played the trumpet. Trombone Shorty. You do a great job. I hope one day I meet you in person in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. It would had be great if you had a trumpeter while you played the trombone and along with the saxophonists.
Discovered him at the Paris Jazz Festival this afternoon. Loved the way he mixes rock, funk, jazz... an amazing performance ! Not only the entire line-up is madly talented, but they showed a very contagious joy of being there and playing a rich and generous sound. Bravo les mecs, revenez quand vous voulez !
Excellent musicians 👌 just saw them on Jools Holland tonight on New Year’s eve - crap year 💩💩 great to hear this at end of 2020 RIP poor people who died because of Covid RIP❤️❤️
I was thinking about that too. It's a huge amount of strength from a lifetime of playing. Your face muscles just give out after a while and you cannot hit a single note but not his. He just keeps playing and playing and playing. He took some breaks to sing but still.
This young man (Trombone Shorty) is so inspiring! Not since Louis Satterfield (EWF Phoenix Horns) have I been excited to hear a trombone solo. Bring the show to VA Beach.
Was seeing the Foo Fighters in Amsterdam a few months ago but I was early, and this guy was playing before the Foo's. Never heard of him before but I couldn't believe my ears when I heard them live, they are soooo good.
Excellent performance. I especially liked the song that featured the Neville Brothers and his big brother on trumpet (approx. @ 1:25:30), which that groove is truly the epitome of New Orleans funk.
I saw Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue earlier this month in Sacramento at Ace of Spades. Incredible show - one of the best and most energetic shows I've seen in years. Place was going crazy the entire time. If they are playing in your area... SEE THEM. Don't even hesitate. SOOOOO good!
Friend of mine kept talking about Shorty and playing his music. I liked some of it. But after I saw him in concert, couldn't believe the power and energy coming from this band. Just incredible.
Scott Carson saw the show in Minneapolis and it was wonderful...Shorty threw 3 t-shirt into the crowd and then handed the 4th to me...front idiot dancing up a storm
Outstanding... I saw him last night at Playboy Jazz Festival in LA. He brought the energy to the concert. Brought the crowd to their feet.... Amazing...
Awesome videography. It got a little strange with the drunk brother and the groping of the frontman, but they started and ended well. Trombone Shorty killing it as usual.
trombone shorty makes me proud to be a nolaite. FYI- a nolite is a person born in new Orleans. and that would be me even though I currently live in Chicago and I'm gonna bring that signature Nola sound to the chi. because I'm a musician myself and I'm always turning people to trombone shorty and they all thank me. trombone shorty I saw you twice at Fitzgerald's I. berwyn il. which is 5 mins from Chicago needless to say he tore the place up. can't wait to see you again Shorty. bRuCe BrUcE
This is a bright light making my day again! Love that I found this man on RUclips! Keeps amazing me on how easy he switches between trumpet and trombone. Due to the size of the mouth pieces this is so hard for the lips! Very nice! Definitely gonna seen him live at least once!
Saw him twice and can't wait to see him another time... They're just all amazing! Remember a girl after one of their shows in France saying "He just knows how to play loud..." Damn, she didn't know what music is all about! RESPECT to Troy Andrews and Orleans Avenue!
This should be a LIVE ALBUM. I'm ashamed to listen to this HOTNESS for FREE. My GAWD, this is totally awesome. I LOVE TROMBONE SHORTY!!
What a nice comment! n_n

+Alther Alves Nice work!
+Alther Alves Louisiana XD
Excellent musicians 👌 just saw them on Jools Holland tonight on New Year’s eve - crap year 💩💩 great to hear this at end of 2020
RIP poor people who died because of Covid RIP❤️❤️
Loving this bari sax player, so funky throughout the whole set, especially the feature segment in Suburbia!
Thank u so much T shorty :) The news' orleans soul never died !!!
Those chops! plays for over 2 hours straight, and not quietly either.

I was thinking about that too. It's a huge amount of strength from a lifetime of playing. Your face muscles just give out after a while and you cannot hit a single note but not his. He just keeps playing and playing and playing. He took some breaks to sing but still.
Saw these guys at summerfest last year- never knew a band could sound so full loud and controlled at the same time
Trombone shorty is the best trombone player ever God bless and keep it comin'
In the evening's in Salem Oregon a man stands outside his restaurant and play's trombone,I don't think he knows how much I appreciate him
one of the best live on youtube.... amazing ¡¡¡¡
This young man (Trombone Shorty) is so inspiring! Not since Louis Satterfield (EWF Phoenix Horns) have I been excited to hear a trombone solo. Bring the show to VA Beach.
I want to thank my music appreciation teacher for showing me this
The red hot chili peppers have brought a lot of joy to my life, and one of those joys was introducing me to trombone shorty
You cant help but to move to that New Orleans groove!!! Amazing talent pool in this city!! I love New Orleans!!!
Fishbone was one of my favorite bands of all time, these guys remind me of them in the best way!
ANGELO MOORE has a new band called: "Dr. Madvibe & the Missing Links" if ya love Fishbone you gotta check 'em out!!
Huh. I hadn't thought of that until you mentioned it, but they do.
Was seeing the Foo Fighters in Amsterdam a few months ago but I was early, and this guy was playing before the Foo's. Never heard of him before but I couldn't believe my ears when I heard them live, they are soooo good.
NEW ORLEANS MUSIC IS THE BEST!
It's really the best, after the Foo Fighters Music :P
Roger Lee Meyzindi
Excellent performance. I especially liked the song that featured the Neville Brothers and his big brother on trumpet (approx. @ 1:25:30), which that groove is truly the epitome of New Orleans funk.
Now who the hell would hit the "dislike" button on this video...
Its just 1 person making a bunch of different accounts to dislike it.

Only people who have not experienced the swell of pure musical talent, regardless of genre. Sitar to harmonica. Music is concscious geometry
Super concert ! De quoi rallier les jeunes générations au blues.....
bloody amazing, what else can i say.
MY GOOOOOODNESS ME, WHAT ON EARTH IS? WTF, I WISH I WAS THERE
33:27 i can listen to all day
I'm still in love with this band❤
I must admit had not heard of Trombone Shorty until I saw him and band at Byron Bay one year! WOW !!! WOW !!! WOW!!!
💕💕💕💕
Great performance! These guys sound amazing!
We danced till we can't dance no more. Lying on the floor like....."WHOA! That was awesome!!" Yah!! Thanx Shorty!!
I honestly cannot sit still when I listen to TS!
May this talent become the best thing ever seen, lovin him!
Outstanding... I saw him last night at Playboy Jazz Festival in LA. He brought the energy to the concert. Brought the crowd to their feet.... Amazing...
Love this band! Seen them twice so far. Great musicians and they have fun!
The Bariton player is amazing and you can't hear it ... Amasing conscert!!!!!!
If this is Monday night I doubt I'd survive a Saturday night! Grooves deep enough to fall in
Awesome videography. It got a little strange with the drunk brother and the groping of the frontman, but they started and ended well. Trombone Shorty killing it as usual.
I would love to see Trombone Shorty and Roy Hargrove together in a straight out jam session! ( ^ _ ^ )
+GREEK HUMMUS Someone needs to organise that right now!
Their studio recordings don't do these guys justice. Talent like this is always better live.
Such a great band, and Shorty is just an incredible musician in every way
trombone shorty makes me proud to be a nolaite.

Wow I really like your music so much Mr. Trombone Shorty🎶🎶🎶🎶
I caught this band on Travis County Limits. BLOWN AWAY!!
great trombone player one of the best i've seen.
Von Anfang bis Ende ein absolut geiler Gig. Macht Spaß ohne Ende.
Ich hoffe, ihn mal live zu sehen.
Mein Bruder und ich wär'n dabei. ;)
I have not sat still in 34 minutes now..what a great show!!! Always the best!!
Absolutely brilliant! This rocks, this is funky, this has drive!
It truly does, and as an aspiring brass player, I love this.
P.S you're about 7 years too late.
@@jaceace836 It's never too late! Glad you share my enthusiasm!
EXCELLENT !!! super concert !!!!!
This is a bright light making my day again! Love that I found this man on RUclips! Keeps amazing me on how easy he switches between trumpet and trombone. Due to the size of the mouth pieces this is so hard for the lips! Very nice! Definitely gonna seen him live at least once!
seriously! I really don´t know how often I already watched this show on youtube. That´s partying at its best!
Wow just discovered him and his band and so glad I did. They are awesome.
Saw him twice and can't wait to see him another time... They're just all amazing! Remember a girl after one of their shows in France saying "He just knows how to play loud..." Damn, she didn't know what music is all about! RESPECT to Troy Andrews and Orleans Avenue!
this group is awesome.,first time I heard them fell in love.
repping nola all d way..thanks for keeping it true ,mr andrews...got my respect..
Treme brought me here! Great set!
Me too. I've watched 2 complete concerts so far. He's great. Want to see him live.
I am expecting all the comments to be about shorty but damn that bari was so good. I mean don't get me wrong shorty is a god, but just damn
Saw them live in Tulsa, OK with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Outstanding show. Highly recommend the tour and hope to see these guys again soon!
