Seen a few of you have been asking about the Cricut calibration sheet. There is a link in the description but dropping it here as well 😊 Hope this helps! help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009424974-Calibrating-your-machine-for-Print-Then-Cut Rebecca x
Hi Ruth, I know, it's mad. I can't believe how many people have watched this video either .... and that these problems haven't been sorted properly yet by Cricut. Really hope you get it working and can focus on designing! x
GAME CHANGER TIPS!!!! Thank you so much for this video!!! I was so close to giving up on Print then Cut. I'm a tech-savvy girly, but I couldn't for the life of me get this to work for me. Turns out, I needed to turn off the light and align the mat left. Thank you for saving my faith in my Cricut!!! 🙏
I cant tell you how grateful i am for this video. I was seconds away from throwing my brand new Maker 3 out of the window, i spent all morning trying to cut one sheet properly. I finally got it, thank you so much
These are great tips. Unfortunately, I am still not able to get it to work. I am definitely returning the machine as it has completely defeated me from even wanting to continue to try. Wasted so much money on materials and ink for my printer. This shouldn't be this difficult.
I just tried some of your tips and got it to work first time. The main thing for me was to print to PDF first and then print full size. I didn't select a paper size but the cut was perfect. How you don't have more subscribers is beyond me. Great video, nicely delivered and you solved a problem that was driving me slightly mad :) thanks!
I’m so pleased this helped, I am honestly shocked at how many views this has had! I had no idea so many people were having problems! I just thought I would put something together to try and help as I was so frustrated myself!
@RebeccaYates Not kidding when I say you have given so many of hope knowing how to correct these problems. Never realized there could be so many variables. The one about the light could very well be one of my problems here because I noticed when it is late and the ceiling light is on, it almost always begins to cut off center. Thanks sooooo much!
Thank you so much for this video. It's been a while since you posted it, but the info is still valid, and I can tell you that the information helped me get Print & Cut working on my new Joy Xtra. I can't say for sure which thing did it because I tried a few of them in one go (printed calibration sheet from PDF, cleaned my blade, lined up my mat to the left when loading and changed my room lighting). It worked on my first calibration (and it had not in like 25 tries before). You might have saved my sanity. Thanks again. :)
Thank you so much!!!! I was about to throw mine in the trash!! Needless to say, cricut will not be my next cutting machine, but I can keep mine a little longer. Holy cow what a pain.
OMG you saved my life, first of all my calibrations never worked, did the pdf thing with US paper size (I am in Spain) and that did it. The other thing is that for 2 years I have been fighting with my cricut with different lights etc because it always had problems reading the lines, today I closed the lid FIXED! amazing how simple it was LOL. Thanks so much one of the most useful videos!
first of all thank you soo much Rebecca! im a maker from Singapore and im on my 3rd machine hahahahaha i thought it was a machine problem but it was not. I accepted fate and always hand cut my stickers after cutting it on my cricut to get that even look as it is always slightly off. After following these 3 steps it was perfect! like actual perfection not even slightly off!!!! 3 things helped me solved the problem 1st using the pdf you provided printing it in A4 ACTUAL SIZE!!! 2nd cover the top lid as my room is fully lit with led lights everywhere that definitely helped 3rd it wasn’t listed in the video but a friend of mine recommended it. Place baking paper on top of your mat (sticky side up) and iron that mat on low, your mat will be straight no longer warped making it easier to align it to the left when loading the mat into the machine I hope these 3 steps will help anyone struggling to get a perfect cut.
Thank you sooooooo much! I was almost in tears with all the paper I was wasting! The force firmware update, PDF save then print, and closing the top of the Cricut machine worked!
After many calibration attempts and wasted sheets and ink, I discovered two additional steps that fixed my sticker alignment issue. One, my printable vinyl media was rarely flat in the printer feed tray like a sheet of copy paper would be. The humidity makes it curl a bit and it would not feed straight. Then, after printing, I started measuring the distance from the left media edge at the top and bottom to the Registration Box and I discovered that many times it was off by 1 or 2 millimeters. When I adjusted the placement on the mat to make the registration box even with the mat side alignment line, it cut perfectly time after time even though the paper is not aligned. Good Luck! Cheers from Texas.
I was pulling my hair out as well!! One day it worked perfectly, then there was an update. Worked awful after that. Tried recalibrating what seemed like 50 times. Came across your video and went through your suggestions. Uninstalling and reinstalling is what worked for me. Thank you so much!!!
Wow! I went so far as to send my first machine back to Cricut (after spending hours trying to calibrate and having to make a long video of myself attempting to calibrate my machine to send Cricut). They sent me a new machine (which I am extremely grateful for!) but the new one also would not calibrate correctly. I just turned off all the lights in my room and it worked perfectly. I'm a little surprised the tech at Cricut I talked to didn't suggest that, but it worked and I'm overjoyed! :) Thank you a million times, Rebecca!
Yay! I’m so pleased you got it sorted! Yeah this video should be theirs! Haha!! But I thought it was important to try and share to help out if I can! Rebecca x
This helped us tremendously and just save me from going through 20 more sheets of paper! Thank you for collating all this helpful information into a quick video!
Your video has been very helpful. I have now calibrated my Cricut Marker using your advice and successfully done my first Print and Cut that has worked out very well. Thanks.
Hi! Thank you so very much for all these tips. So many I haven't tried but am making a check list. This is the most helpful video I've seen. From the looks at the comments, so many others have been going through the same agonizing problems. Think Cricut should offer all their fixes without us having to ruin expensive materials andvget so frustrated it makes us want to quit altogether. Thank you, thank you, thank you!❤❤❤
Oh my word Rebecca! I can't thank you enough this Cricut almost went out of the window! Cricut help pages do not tell you the A4/US paper confusion! Life saver thank you!
You, my dear, are an angel from heaven with the most delightful accent I've ever heard! I'm been trying to calibrate this stupid Cricut for 3 days, hours & hours & lord knows how much wasted paper. Every time I jumped through all the hoops, it was worse than the time before. My last nerve was twitching something awful! I followed all your "hints" with exception of forcing hardware upgrade & finally FINALLY I'm all calibrated; the Cricut is working nicely also, as it should have been right out of the box. Ugh! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, definitely subscribing to your channel & will be searching through your videos over the upcoming days & weeks.
Thank you for this I was about to drive hours to the nearest mountains and just huck my Cricut off a cliff🤣 I figured it out before finding your video today but saving this because I know I will forget how to do this🤦♀️
Oh my god you just saved me from throwing my machine out of the window. Obviously I needed a British cricut RUclipsr to get the answer I needed. Thanks so much
So glad I've found this video! So tough to find tips etc for UK based Cricut Crafters, I've just set up my machine today trying to calibrate my printer has been a nightmare, thank you for these tips!
You are a lifesaver! Thank you so much! I have bought my first Cricut machine and just couldn't figure out why it didn't work after callibration. The US Letter paper trick saved me! So stupid Cricut doesn't mention this on their site...
I've literally tried everything and you're video really worked! I believe for me it was closing to top of my cricut machine and going through the recalibration process haha. God bless you!
Hi, Rebecca! OMG I just figured out what was happening to my Cricut and this video was the salvation of me throwing my Cricut out the window and giving up. All this time it was the Letter configuration!! I just didn't know and it cuts perfectly accurate now
Thank you for this, I've just been through things on ours which sat on a shelf for a few years and needed a calibration for a new PC - it was the letter size bit, and as I'd been calibrating on the wrong print settings and scale it took a while to set things right as it had shifted so far down.
This was extremely helpful and straightforward. I've been having trouble with print and cut forever and I feel like everything I tried didn't work, so I really appreciate it! Thank you so much!
I cannot thank you enough. I had to eventually uninstall Design Space and reinstall and then I updated the firmware and those two steps did the trick. Got great accuracy with the calibration. Should not have attempted calibration on my own. I only made matters worse. Had I watched your video first, I would have figured that the cutout around the square was close enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
Rebecca!!!!!! I've just got to give you the biggest THANKS for your help!!! I am sooo grateful for your honesty in writing, that you changed to a silhouette portrait. I was nerveous about the thought of spending more money on yet another machine, but it was sooo worth it! I am sooo happy with the results I am finally getting after months of being stressed about the non cooperative cricut (when it came to print then cut). Thank you so much!
No worries at all! The other week I recorded an update to this video comparing both the machines, not got round to editing it yet! The software for silhouette really has the edge as well, it’s so much quicker to design now. I was so nervous to try it out but I do think it’s a better machine x
I'd been having this issue for months, and went to Cricut where they said that there was a fault with the light in my machine, so they replaced it and once again I had the same issue. I was this close to just asking for a refund on the machine, but I tried the US Letter print and it actually worked. Thank you!
Thank you for making this video! I tried a combination of saving as PDF and printing with the additional print settings available that way, and closing the cricut lid (as I do have a lighting issue in my office) The stickers came out much better than before! Still not 100% perfect but definitely a major improvement so I’m happy!
Thank you SO much! I followed your tips exactly and finally got acceptable results. For me, I think it was selecting Yes instead of No when asked about the accuracy of the first calibration box. Such a helpful video!
Superb tips! Thanks for this video. I'm new to Cricut and have begun making stickers for my online store. Lots of misaligned cuts until the tip about light! My Cricut was right under a Velux window so down the blind came, recalibrated with the link you gave and now seems pretty good. Thanks!
Your video is really useful, it really made a difference for me with my Cricut. I was so disapointed I couldn''t calibrate it correctly that I lost interest in it. So thank you.
Thank you! You have helped me sooooo much. This is going to be a journey...not a short walk. I have already changed my thinking and have seen such an improvement.
I’m really glad I found this video! I kept recalibrating my explore air irk how many times and it still wouldn’t cut properly on my print and cuts. I plan to try some of these hacks thank you so much for sharing
I FINALLY FIGURED OUT MY CALIBRATION ISSUE! It only took me 2 weeks rofl. I used the print to actual size with PDF, lighting (which helped a lot but was still off) and everything under the sun. THEN after I got it to as close as I could but still off enough that it still sometimes cuts into my art and is lopsided.... i figured why not and did this: I noticed that even after using the calibration sheet and choosing the line that was exactly in the center that my cuts were still shifted to the left and a little high up. So, instead of choosing the exact center for the horizontal and vertical lines, i chose an option that was shifted a little to the right and below the marked lines. That absolutely did the trick. Everything cuts exactly now
Thank you thank you Thank You from Las Vegas Nevada. My machine was cutting everything wrong and up til I watched your video I kept hitting No after the first little square thinking it had to be perfect. You saved me. Lol
Thanks for this video we spent a couple of hours trying to sort out the calibration, your tips did the trick. I think the biggest issue is the paper size. Thanks again.
I can't thank you enough for this absolutely Amazing and Brilliant video - I have tried absolutely anything and everything to get my print and cuts perfect and then watched this video and with all your tips (that not even Cricut can provide themselves) it has finally FINALLY come together. I am so so grateful. Thanku so so much
I tried everything, and nothing worked. I finally caught your comment about the firmware update. Once I did that it worked like a charm. Thank you! If you’re having no luck, be sure to do a firmware update!
Thank you so much! Printing the PDF, making sure US letter borderless was selected fixed my issue. I also closed the lid when the machine was reading the registration lines.
Thank you for this video, I tried calibrating so many times but always failed, couldn't figure out what the issue was, turns out was the light, who knew!
Thank you for this! I was getting so frustrated with my machine. Getting the mat over to the left and blocking the light while it’s scanning fixed my problems.
Me too. I was just on the phone with cricut because I can't even get cricut to do the calibration sheet to no avail. I'm disgusted with cricut and I don't think I'm purchasing another crucut.
I'm so thankful I found your video I was having issues with my maker reading the registration marks I have been dealing with it for months I have watched so many RUclips videos nothing was working until I forced it to update the firmware and oh my goodness it worked thank you thank you thank you
The calibration tip worked for me thanks been a pain of cutting my stickers but it’s cut perfectly around the square so hopefully I can make some more stickers for my shop 👍🥰
Thank you so much! It actually worked by printing the PDF sheet instead, I could actually see the difference in the print, the calibration sheet that was printing directly from the design space was off, so I used the one from the Cricut site and made sure it was on Letter size and print full image and just followed the prompts on the Cricut. Thank you so much for the information :)
🙌🙌 Thank you!! Finally got Beta Offset to work around my images and now the cut is off. Much appreciation for your calibration suggestions! (and.... thank you for no cheesy music or sales pitches!)
Oh that's ok! I hope you get it sorted. I just wanted to make something I thought might help others... I was so annoyed at the lack of information from Cricut. We makers have to help each other if we can!! Rebecca xx
@@RebeccaYates update from me…. I finally humbled myself and called Cricut for assist. After 2hrs of trying to calibrate, they gave up, too and are replacing my Maker. New machine arrives on Thursday. Thanks again for your helpful video 👏
I know!! I am shocked by how many views and comments this has had! And can’t believe these issues haven’t been fixed by cricut! glad this has helped a bit though!
Thank you you are bloody brilliant..i was trying to sort this for days and nights. Watched a daft amount of youtube video came across your RUclips and its sorted thank you so much 🎉 now to make stickers, cake topper and alsorts of other things Thank you 😊
This video was so helpful!!! I think my issue was the light. I closed my Cricut top and my cut has been way closer. The closest it has been in years. Thank you so much for this!!
I just nudge it on my air 2. I use the draw and cut settings which was good for a few months until last month. everything is off by .762mm/.03" to the right and .635mm/.025" to the bottom. I've done all the hacks even those that just apply to print then cut, but nothing works. Cricut had an actual update that wasn't just me forcing an update a few days ago, and it worked for less than a day. Then the machine said it had to update again and that undid all software fixes for the margin error. For a moment I was like,'is cricut doing the iphone thing to get you to buy the newest machine,' but I've heard that it's bad across the board.
I'm super thankful to had found this video and for your tips !! For me personally, I was using A4 and after transferring over to US Letter sizing and re-cabilrated, the cut went precisely how I needed it to. Thank you so much again! ~
Thanks for that, I needed to get that calibration done and it looks good but I can't get the System Diaglog to come up. It came up before but not now. So Im looking around to see if I missed something. Any suggestions? Its not in the back at all as suggested. TIA
Thanx for the advice on calibration, One other problem I have is that Smart Permanemt Vinyl doesn't seem to like ink stickin' to it, have you encountered that problem
this was so helpful, thank you so much!! i also got my cricut last november as a birthday gift but ive barely been using it because of this. im gonna be sure to try all these tips!! thank you again
Your video was so amazing...I just received my other cricut because the first one had defaults and with the second one its the same problem I'm having....lol I feel like with a new one everything would be fixed but no so I'll go these steps to see if its something I'm doing
Liked, saved, subscribed! This video was amazing, I’ve been stressing about this for so long and wasting so many materials (I’m a bit of a perfectionist) I can’t wait to try these and see if they work for me! Thank you!
I have been looking for someone like you. You must have some commercial printing experience. I can do art with a bleed and a separate cut image. Not sure how to layer the two pieces to get a good clean cut. Thanks for the help.
Seen a few of you have been asking about the Cricut calibration sheet. There is a link in the description but dropping it here as well 😊
Hope this helps!

Thank you for the tips - we should NOT have to work this hard to use a function we bought the machine for! : (
Oh my gosh right???? So aggrivating!
Agreed! What is the big black box around the design there for then? It doesn’t make any damn sense 😩
Agreed.. this is ridiculous!
Seriously, this has been a total nightmare.
I agree 😢
So glad to have finally found people who are having the same problem as I am. I totally agree.. It should NOT be this hard!! Thanks for your tips
Hi Ruth, I know, it's mad. I can't believe how many people have watched this video either .... and that these problems haven't been sorted properly yet by Cricut. Really hope you get it working and can focus on designing! x

I am here 3 years later and this video helped me so much. I ended up printing to PDF and closing my top cover. It worked. Thank you!
If you get chance could you just describe how you did it, if its not too hard, all the best, Mick.
OMG you saved my life, first of all my calibrations never worked, did the pdf thing with US paper size (I am in Spain) and that did it. Same thing is happening to me everything worked perfectly until I updated last week. Going to uninstall and reinstall to see if that works.

The stickers came out much better than before! Still not 100% perfect but definitely a major improvement so I’m happy!

Well said
Thanks so much! I was about to break the machine with a hammer, but your tips saved it!
Thank you SO much! Your tips helped me finally get my machine calibrated.
Thank you!
Way more useful than Cricut's "Customer Service."
I’m really glad I found this video! I kept recalibrating my explore air irk how many times and it still wouldn’t cut properly on my print and cuts. I plan to try some of these hacks thank you so much for sharing
I hope some of these work! Rebecca x
I FINALLY FIGURED OUT MY CALIBRATION ISSUE! It only took me 2 weeks rofl. I used the print to actual size with PDF, lighting (which helped a lot but was still off) and everything under the sun. THEN after I got it to as close as I could but still off enough that it still sometimes cuts into my art and is lopsided.... i figured why not and did this:
I noticed that even after using the calibration sheet and choosing the line that was exactly in the center that my cuts were still shifted to the left and a little high up. So, instead of choosing the exact center for the horizontal and vertical lines, i chose an option that was shifted a little to the right and below the marked lines. That absolutely did the trick. Everything cuts exactly now
I WAS ALREADY FLIPPING THE WHOLE DAY! I’m glad I found this video. Thank you so much!!
Really hope you get it working :) I can't how many people are stil having issues with this and how many people have watched this video! Rebecca xx
Thank you for keeping me off the evening news. I was on the verge of a rampage!!!!
Yes. Thank you. First thing was my issue - my printer must be suddenly resizing things - because who knows. It was all working just fine yesterday.
thanks, this has been very informative and helpful! I was pulling my hair last night trying to calibrate my machine last night!
I can't thank you enough for this absolutely Amazing and Brilliant video - I have tried absolutely anything and everything to get my print and cuts perfect and then watched this video and with all your tips (that not even Cricut can provide themselves) it has finally FINALLY come together. I am so so grateful. Thanku so so much
Yay!! I’m so pleased you got it working! Rebecca x
I tried everything, and nothing worked. I finally caught your comment about the firmware update. Once I did that it worked like a charm. Thank you!
If you’re having no luck, be sure to do a firmware update!
Reinstalling helped fix my calibration issue!! Thank you SO much!!
Thank you so much! Printing the PDF, making sure US letter borderless was selected fixed my issue. I also closed the lid when the machine was reading the registration lines.
Yay! I am so pleased it helped! Rebecca x
Thank you for this video, I tried calibrating so many times but always failed, couldn't figure out what the issue was, turns out was the light, who knew!
Thank you so much! Printing the PDF actually did the trick. I also made sure to print it in the highest possible quality, just to make sure.
Thank you for this! I was getting so frustrated with my machine. Getting the mat over to the left and blocking the light while it’s scanning fixed my problems.
I haven't tried these methods yet, but I am excited and hopeful I can learn to love my Cricut properly :) TY!
We just a Circuit Maker 3 and this worked! I just used the PDF and set to US! Worked!
OMG THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!! FINALLY MY CRICUT HAS COLLABORATED 😊😊😊
This video is a life-saver! I was so frustrated with my Cricut that I was ready to throw it away.😅
Me too. I was just on the phone with cricut because I can't even get cricut to do the calibration sheet to no avail. I'm disgusted with cricut and I don't think I'm purchasing another crucut.
THANK YOU!!! Turning down the lights did the trick!
Thank you so much. Here in AUS we use A4 too and I suspected it was part of my issues but couldn’t quite figure it out. Thank you so much :)
That's great news! I'm so pleased!!
The PDF calibration sheet made all the difference- THANK YOU 🙏🏻
thanks for the tips! now i got my print then cut back.. it really helped me.
I give this video ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! I'm so frustrated with calibrating my Maker. Thanks so much for the tips!!
Cricut shouldn't be this hard to use! Your video is amazing. Thank you so much.
I know!! I am shocked by how many views and comments this has had! And can’t believe these issues haven’t been fixed by cricut! glad this has helped a bit though!
Hi Rebecca. Thank you for the video. Do you perhaps have a video showing how to do what you mentioned here 9:20?
I too have been tearing my hair out so thanks so much for this video. (Currently sat in the dark trying to calibrate my machine.)
Thank you you are bloody brilliant..i was trying to sort this for days and nights. Watched a daft amount of youtube video came across your RUclips and its sorted thank you so much 🎉 now to make stickers, cake topper and alsorts of other things
Thank you 😊
Thank you so much !! I have struggled since getting mine and wasted so much paper x
I hate that feeling of waste! I hope this helps and you can get it working!
Thank you for the wonderful tips on Print then Cut...for me the close the blinds so cricut can read the registrations lines did the trick....
That’s great! So pleased you have managed to get it working!
This video was so helpful!!! I think my issue was the light. I closed my Cricut top and my cut has been way closer. The closest it has been in years. Thank you so much for this!!
omg this worked!! i wasn't printing to actual size!! thank you!!
Your video was super helpful. Thank you!
I've learned so much from your video! Thanks for your generous sharing! Hoping I can adjust my machine's calibration soon!
Thank you so much for your video, it helped me so much for my second day trying to have fun with my christmas gift :)
So so helpful..thank you thank you thank you...was working on the calibration for almost a week..
Thank you thank you!!! After 3 hrs I downloaded the template and it worked .
Thank you so much for this video! I changed my paper setting from A4 to US and it's cut perfectly.
Thank you so much for this video, it was so helpful! You saved my Circut project!
Do you have a video on how you made/ cut these stars in case the machine miscuts?
I'm super thankful to had found this video and for your tips !! For me personally, I was using A4 and after transferring over to US Letter sizing and re-cabilrated, the cut went precisely how I needed it to. Thank you so much again! ~
You are so welcome!! 💗💗💗 glad you hear you got it working!! X
Thanks for that, I needed to get that calibration done and it looks good but I can't get the System Diaglog to come up. It came up before but not now. So Im looking around to see if I missed something. Any suggestions? Its not in the back at all as suggested. TIA
Thank you so much for all this info. I was finally able get my cricut to cut correctly!!!
You saved my life today. Thank you so much for this info. Especially for the download 🤗. I couldn't get my cricut to connect to my printer.
What a nightmare!! I really hope you get it working!! Fingers crossed!!! X
Liked, saved, subscribed! This video was amazing, I’ve been stressing about this for so long and wasting so many materials (I’m a bit of a perfectionist) I can’t wait to try these and see if they work for me! Thank you!
Thank you! I hope they do! I have been so surprised that so many people are having similar issues! I really hope these help!
Did you ever post that video about how you create those star stickers?? Would love to learn how!
I have been looking for someone like you. You must have some commercial printing experience. I can do art with a bleed and a separate cut image. Not sure how to layer the two pieces to get a good clean cut. Thanks for the help.
