Honestly, pretty bold of the man to play a spoon with Peter Bernstein 😅

Is that spoon from Sabian or Pearl? I never got a good look at it. The table is definitely a Zildjian. Good tone.

Superb playing from both artists. I just discovered Rotem last week with his 12 bar blues videeo with Adam Neely. What a smooth player! I think I heard Rotem quote "Surrey With a Fringe on Top" followed by "September in the Rain"

I freaking love you guys your music is incredible and I love how genuine it is when you two get in a room and someone to keep tempo. Your chords have helped me understand and register the fretboard so I guess peace love and rock & roll! Keep the crazy jazz coming!

The mentality of the human race has changed since this type of music was in it's hayday
More sterile techy minded now. The soul of the music can't bloom like before, cause the creative nature is absent from the listeners.

      @@alejandrorogel1698
I'm 59 yrs old. (Don't know how old you are)
To me, there's been a pronounced fundamental shift over the past decades, in the way that people think and are. It's almost like we're a different species now.
We used to be more relaxed, respectful (not in legislated appearances as now, but in our hearts)and imaginative. More present and alive. Real. Human.
Now, due to ubiquitous technologies such as computers and smartphones, and due to this instituted hyper-emphasis on "self-esteem" and hypersensitivity towards feeling "offended" by another person's words, some of our natural human qualities have become stilted.
The sense of belonging, community and personhood that we once enjoyed have been replaced by isolation, fear, suspicion and information overload.
The receptivity of the listener is critical to the natural blooming of live musical performance, especially in jazz, and I feel that these changes in us, as a species, have oversterilized the psychic environment, to the detriment of the jazz experience.

Ultimately you will never know what it is to be Black and have to resort to scales, math and playing fast to get notice. Blacks are simply the most imitated people in all disciplines. The inventor of the first traffic light was aBlack Man. Look around Europe's most ancient Cathedrals and see Black Madonnas and Christ Child later changed to white . The music school you wet to depends on you to stay in business. You should seek ways to undermine the systems that love you! Then you can start playing your ass off soulfully. Goodluck! Im retired twice..military/teacher and will get a 3rd retirement its called Social Security. I can walk into any level of Jazz right now and earn respect and just play music. Pete knows me and so does Gary Bartz, Lou Donaldson, Lonnie Smith and others. Im cool and never had to rely on women to pay the bills or medical. I have no desire to compete with those that do. Being man is not like transcribe 7..fake intellectual clones. Ive heard all the best clones and math based players and will not buy one cd from them. yes old Albert King, Kenny Burrell, Grant green, some Benson, Pass, Jim Hall, Herb Ellis and others yes.The new shit is based on scales and playing out when they haven't mastered playing in from the soul and not books and transcribe 7. Pete couldn't stand certain technical players and told me. I know he seeks basic mastery of soul and not showoff techniques. He has no perfect pitch and not even close. I tested him. He simply plays from his own being and does learn things to internalize. but he knows,no Blues is an insult to Jazz!
