    Little tidbit, they opened Thursday's stream by playing Power Wash simulator and mentioned how it might be good practice for season 3! So I think you've got it right with that cleaning up the infection kinda thing with those new tools

      Funny you mention that, as I think the tool on the left of the fourth teaser looks like a power washing wand which I would assume that we're spraying some sort of pesticide (?) to clear out this "Sentient Mold" as Sniss puts it. I do agree with him that the tool on the right is a vacuum and Mission Control would probably be tasking us to collect it for research. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a new mission type, with the wand and vacuum needing to be deployed. Or maybe this could be a variation of the escort mission, where we finally have something new for Dottie to extract aside from Ommoran Heartstones.

      by the looks of it the mold area looks like a node in the map, It would be cool if the entire map is in mold and you are tasked to push through it with more powerful tools while cleaning a playing field to stand on and survive wave attacks

    An interesting theory I heard was that the Rivals weren’t here to steal DRG’s mines, but they arrived to stop whatever this is. If you think about it, it kinda makes sense
    1. Their tech is more advanced, so they’d likely see the mass coming towards Hoxxes before DRG; or perhaps they already knew about this mold stuff
    2. Their tech on the planet was more focused on research, and they never really mined anything (except the Prospector collecting data)
    3. They only created the Nemesis to fend off the dwarves that were ruining their stuff

    Driller's grenade fits him better than you realize. Driller has always been about manipulating the terrain to the team's advantage, and so a grenade weapon tied directly to the terrain and its shape is a perfect match. It incentivises him to dig tunnels and stuff to let the shredder loose and repeatedly hit enemies.

    I hope it's gonna be a game mode where you have to remove the corruption or mold before it infects everything
    It reminds me of how corruption works in Terraria

    It would be really cool if they added a cafeteria so you can get food and beer. Or maybe pay a ridiculous amount of money to get a feast before you go down to hoxxes and it'll give you some crazy buf like + 200% health or something.

    Was just thinking that a nice way to add variety to the current enemies would be to have parasites that infect them and give them different behaviour or abilities, plus the part where the parasite attaches could be another (potentially better) weak spot. If the infection alters the enemies then that’s pretty close to what I hoped for.

    My theory for season 3, driller finally has two options for grenades. Interested to see when the devs give him two more so he has the same amount as the other classes. Weird they released the game with only axes.

      I agree that axes are pretty much the only viable grenade for driller, as a DOT or little explosive is nothing compared to throwing axes that do insane damage. The fart grenade will always be lack-luster the way I see it. The HE grenade just needs to detonate on impact and carve out more terrain.

      I desperately want the HE grenades to dig more terrain. I dont hardly ever use my axes unless im out of ammo(face melting flamer go brrrrr) so i would rather have the grenades to dig.
      I just wanna dig everything with anything.

      Consider that the fart cloud is flammable, incentivizing not using it with flame thrower to maximize damage. Then realize both the sludge cannon and cryo slow enemies, allowing the toxin to be max value
      The normal grenades suck tho, especially when satchels exist

    The mision terminal being red could mean we are in an emergency, Hoxxes could be in danger as this virus is creating never before seen forms of lifes. Im so excited for this season.

    I wanna see a team-up with the rivals. Imagine you’re on your last leg and then a nemesis just shows up and starts to turn the tide. Plus it would work really well with how the nemesis voice works, and some cool lines could be turned into nemesis voicelines.

    I really got excited when I saw the mold stalagmites because it reminded me of halos flood infection right off the bat. I just can’t wait to see what this is going to turn out to be

    The "mold" gives off heavy Zerg Creep and Homeworld: Cataclysm Beast vibes for me, and leans into alien cosmic horror theme much more than the bugs themselves, which I think is really what the game needed. Bugs and robots are understandable and their aims are pretty clear at this point, something much weirder would be welcome, because at this moment Hoxxes doesn't _feel_ like a dangerous, unknowable place.
    Drawing from Warhammer 40k themes, I think DRG really lacks the atmosphere and intensity of Space Hulk, Deathwatch, and Chaos Gate games, where you and your elite small team push almost unsupported deep into enemy territory to heroically root out whatever icky nastiness is endangering the entire humanity this Tuesday, with an enormous probability of failure and grisly death. Dreadnought and Industrial Sabotage missions kinda feel that way, but not really, since the Caretaker is a bit goofy and Dread missions don't feel like you are in the actual Glyphid breeding grounds. A new mission that provides some of those feelings of hopelessness and resolve in the face of an unknown danger would be very welcome and a nice contrast to the basic DRG theme of just hunting for various shiny rocks while dealing with the annoying locals.

      The cubes.
      So, when I think cosmic horror, it's going to involve things like kronenbergs, elder gods, floods/creeps/etc, cenobites, forbidden gates, and other horror stuff which falls outside the realms of of slashers murderers.
      I say cenobites.
      And they had a cube.
      Maybe it's like a cenobites/matrix-y hybrid kinda thing.
      Could connect the biome to a parallel one. Like the nether.
      Would be cool.

    It's gonna be very difficult for gsg to make a grenade for driller. At this point the impact axes feel like they make up the driller class as much as the drills do.
    Also I love the idea of engi having a pocket full of angry shredders and he just grabs a handful for his grenade.

      I know they've said no melee weapons, but god I want something like the blasthole spear from EDF's Fencer. For the same reason that impact axes are so good. The visceral satisfaction. It'd work enough like a gun that it'd totally fit into deep rock and it'd provide more sources of the sweet sweet dopamine that is currently only provided by impact axes and hyperpropellant.

    The worms with tentacles at 2:02 remind me of Deimos Tendril Drones from Warframe. They fly at you while shooting projectiles, then latch on and deal damage. I think the new worms will get onto you, probably onto your face, and deal damage that way, especially with the way the one worm jumped up and spread its arms.

    Also another thing, on the shot that they shows the Space Rig, there are two diferent things that look like some sort of water tanks, with blue lights on top and weird geenish liquid inside
    you can see one right behind the assigment board, close to where you costumize Bosco, and another close to the Deep Dive console

    i believe we will be working with the rivals, with the new shredder grenades to fend off with the engineer, both companies alliance and take back the planet. (Could be wrong, just speculation)

    The seasonal events could be like the hacker pods but instead you get a pod that drops one of the 2 new "weapons" based on what type of infection is found in the cave. They could function similar to refilling the oil canisters. With it either sucking up or burning off the infected areas.
    There could also be a mission to clear out a whole infected cave that has us fight whatever is causing this. With a similar setup to Industrial Sabotage or Escort.

    On the fourth season theme teaser (the space rig one) there is a rather curious machine to the left of the deep dive terminal, right where the pile of mules is located now. I am 100% sure it is somehow connected to the "tools" teased in the same video.

    I'm kinda hoping they're going to add some new cave shapes to the biomes that might better synergize with this new infection, like adding the gnarled roots of hollow bough to the wondrously lush azure wield
    also might be fun if this new infection brings a sort of parasite hive mind alt of the korlok fight, where it could maybe drag different bugs from what's in your current pool (maybe other biome variants) to try and counter you, could be neat

    I thought the "Tool" things in the Space Rig teaser were really transformative Weapon frameworks for the Crsper & Breach Butter.
    An event that gives you a special tool would be dope though.

    So I think the funky green stuff could be from deep in the hoxxies (is that how you spell it?) So lore idea: a drop pod went on an unusually deep deep dive and so they found this, what ever it is.
    And so it spread
    So some missons are now about "researching" and destroying the funky stuff.

    I think there’ll be a new mission type, y’know, cleaning out the yellow stuff maybe? Maybe it does spread during missions and if it gets to the drop pod it’ll fail cuz maybe the oxygen gas type stuff runs out and you’ll have to refill it, but u gotta take the mask off for that and that means ded

    a theory i have kept in mind since the start of the teaser was the possibility of it being a mactera nest/infection, soley due to the colours and design of the biome, as well as the macteras just sorta being... there, maybe until now, since i think one of the desciptions in the teasers was that the infection wasn't rival tech or glyphid sourced.

    Maybe it’s something to do with the precursors? Those guys had the ability to literally change biomes on their planet, so, they had to of had amazing tech. They’re extinct though, nothing but error cubes, the black helix, and those circles of stone. Maybe this killed them,

    Even though they implemented it well, I didn’t really care for the rival mining company theme from the first two seasons. Machines suggest a familiar feel of civilization and move away from the mysterious monster horror feel that I love about the game.
    A parasitic alien infection theme would be fantastic.
    I’d also love a mysterious ancient alien theme. Discovering ancient alien relics buried deep within the planet would be so inthralling. You’d wonder what the aliens’ purpose was, what they were capable of, what they have evolved into since the time they created their relics, where they are now. Maybe the error cubes were their doing.

    While all the new stuff is very cool, the fact that the season's theme is infestation gives me hope for finally getting the new full hazmat mask cosmetic from a concept art far back.
    Because looking the part for the job (in this case for powerwashing parasitic mold), you gotta bring some biohazard cosmetics, which in turn makes me very hyped for S3 cosmetic tree/battle pass

    I think a minor expansion for the grenades would be cool, and what I mean is upgrades. Not a whole list of options like the other tools, but like 2 options to choose from. Something simple like that to just help bring even more variety of the grenades.

    I think this has something to do with the mactera plague due to the color patterns and the geometry of the parasites. In addition we know they create nests my guess is that they are going to create nests in the different biomes and the tools are going to be used take out maby a type of collectable for the season

    I really hope Shredder swarm is solid and that you get alot of them to carry. I use plasma for crowds when overwhelmed, as lures and proximity aren't my thing. Shredder seems cool... plus I also love my Eggman engi.

    my guess as to how this infection thingy will have a role in the game is its probably a 2ndery objective or event similar to the recently added hacking ones where you will call down those new tools maybe and then do a thing to stop/destroy the spread of the infection
    a cool idea tho would be that maybe drg wants to keep the infection spreading as perhaps it might yield some sort of rair resorse the more it spreads.

    Couldn't agree more on the point about the grenades fitting the dwarves' personalities. "So what if I like REALLY BIG GUNS... somehow contained within a cannister and thrown as a grenade?"

    The nades to me:
    Driller got one good for Bunker starts and when diggin to the escape pod, likely could be useful if an engy makes a "portal of shreddding with his platforms, pile 2 pancackes with a gap then shut the top with a plat and voila, gate of death.
    Scout still follows his CC debuffer nade style, now probably to act as trash clearing and/or to synergize with the Crossbow and other of his weapons that have the Option to deal extra dmg vs electrocuted.
    Engy, the Multipurpose/weird in functionality nade, probably will be useful for mission types where dealing with trash or waves is a necessity, or just to bolster the firepower of the team for a moment.
    Gunner, a claymore/Code Geass Chaos Grenade (in Code Geass, one of the least showcased weapons was simply what that thing is, a nade that sprays an area with A LOT of DAKKA for a few seconds), easily it's for waveclearing, choke point blockade and busrting a large wave going lemming style on the gunner.

    Not gonna lie that new grenade for gunner looks like a power I've seen in Warframe called Flechete Orb. Really cool concept for Damage and Crowd control:D And the enemies that covered in the infection reminds me of like Symbiote goo from Spider-Man, wonder how crazy it'll be xD

    I think "ghosts" would be a great theme for a future season or two. Like, they are already in the game- the ghost bulk in the 'haunted cave' warning. Although I would like for that warning to stay the same. They could expand upon the lore and add a new mission type, warning, and event with new ghost enemies. I could speak more about details but I'll just leave it at this...
    ... Ghostbusters but DRG. Hunt those ghosts but don't cross the streams!
    Definitively sci-fi horror right there as you say in the vid :)

    Honestly I think the grenades look really underwhelming. I mean, it’s probably just because I’m spoiled from all the new primaries and secondaries that got added, and adding these new grenades just feels lackluster by comparison. But they just don’t seem super useful in a lot of situations. Scout by far has the most promising looking one, but it literally just does what a grenade he already has does but worse. Gunner’s looks like multiboom friendly fire 2: bullet boogaloo, and it’s just going to mostly annoy teammates. Engineer’s looked cool but it looked so bad, it could barely kill a couple of basic mactera’s and struggled with grunts severely on Haz 2, not to mention it would be really confusing for your team and they’ll just waste ammo shooting at the friendly drones. And Drillers was great, but it’s only useful in very enclosed spaces. Try using it on a mission with super open caves, you’ll kill like 2 grunts and then it’ll sonic spindash away and out of sight.
    I can’t judge them too hard since they’re not out yet, just based on what I’ve seen they look really really underwhelming or just straight up not very good.

    I have a feeling that the Rivals and this....infestation has a little bit of a curving lore crossover between each other...i am saying it,because when the Nemesis dies one of it's dialogues that i just recently catched off during a mission was "I have seen things you dwarves wouldn't believe" so this means that the Nemesis was created before,but was never sent down into Hoxxes until the recent incursion. Until it,the rivals had one main unit,The Caretaker,which is a mobile Vault combined with an insane amount of defensive capabilities.
    So,my guessing would be that the Rivals came to Hoxxes because they were dealing with this infection for a long time,from planet to planet,gathering details first,containing them,then sending out the main weaponry to exterminate it if it exists there,and presumably,this infection was deep underground until it began to spread,much like the infection from GTFO,that spreaded between human beings by a parasitic infection due to an asteroid's impact.

    So far this "mold" stuff seems incredibly similar to the organic growths seen during Egg Hunt missions. Fleshy pulsating tendrils and globules of squishy mass with glowing bits. Maybe they're going to expand on what these odd alien eggs are incubating and where they come from?

    Why the hell would they nerf the glyphid-mower? It's completely useless against mactera. Meanwhile, the bullet sprinkler seems to do just as much damage and hits air targets.

    The shock boomerang shown in the teaser deals at least 15 damage (enough to one-shot swarmers), inflicts electric status for 4 seconds, and inflicts stun for at least 6 seconds. This would make it tied with the subata OC 'tranquilizer rounds' for the longest stun in the game at 6 seconds. The power of a 6 second stun cannot be understated. Not to mention the electric status can combo with zhokov bonus damage vs electrified and boltshark magnetic shafts.

    This could be spot on the invasive overgrowth mission I came up with/guessed 2 weeks ago on the hollow bough video.
    Awesome that we could get a new mission.
    "A mission to exterminate an infestation of invasive plants that could clog up machinery would work well, but not red vines those feast only on wood as far as we know.
    Maybe they could add biome missions like collecting bough sap or something.
    A great improvement would be making there be less missions in the fungus bogs because whenever I look at the active missions if fungus bogs is available like half the missions are in it."

    just throwing that out, even if it is unlikely. It could be thrown in as a different biome. Not in the sense of a different location, but rather just grouping every infected location in there. So, you could get a mixture of biomes (or just new, weird stuff)

    Do you know if console will get a Halloween event before season 3? I'm already sad Oktoberfest is over, but it is Monday so I like the little detail that it was only on the 2 weeks before first weekend of October. I hope they have a Halloween event by Thursday, but I could see them waiting for the last few weeks of the month too. I've only been playing this game since it came out to console, don't have a pc anymore so I want in on anything i might have missed

    Cleaning reminded me that the dwarfs are supposed to be manual workers in space, mining already, building pipes and fixing them, now perhaps cleaning. They could add more events with the same theme.

    I would imagine that it is spreading over time during the mission and it gets more dangerous. maybe it'll be like a mission hazard? now ammo/time isn't the only thing that you will have to be cautious of

    I'd definantly like to see that driller grenade do less damadge.
    Then you'll have to actually use your brain with it.

    I love how deep rock could have just made S3 about the rivals again but then they hit us with, you do remember we are in a hostile planet so there are more things to be warry about, and once that trailer drops(hopefully always narrated) then we'll know what we are fighting against

    I think it’s involving a mactera nest.
    Aside from the goo bomber all mactera are black and glowing yellow.
    The parasites are mactera larva.
    Could possible have a Mactera dreadnaught as a new boss! That species doesn’t have one.
    Also everyone has a new weapon paint!

    Hey sniss this is a bit of an odd question but i was curious to know what your pc settings were for DRG in terms of graphics. Like how the sharpness is or if you use the nvidia settings.
    I only ask cause i’m trying to get my game to look the best it can without making it seem too blurry or jagged.

    Personally I thought it was a mactera hive, the yellow of the stuff looks similar to macteras and those worms have 3 jaws like the tri jaw. Idk man.

    My idea would be more of a super beer that costs beer crafting minerals and you trigger it in the mission and the bonuses which could be speed, damage and health last for 30sec
