People don’t understand Artist Development has been missing in the industry for some time. What we get a lot of now is artist that are thrown in a studio and in a MV and can be edited to look a certain way or a whole lot of gimmicks. Tbh I think it’s because she still wasn’t singing live . I’ve been a Mani fan since the very beginning of 5H so nobody can say I’m a hater , but the only thing missing was a stripped down performance . Most of this performance wasn’t sung live , 96% of it was lip synced , but she’s a really good lip singer like Beyoncé , they’ll really have you believing they’re really singing but it’s very calculated. I was expecting her to finally show everybody that she can SING , but we got a lip synced performance . I love her to death, but this felt like a missed opportunity to see Normani sing and shut up all those people who say she doesn’t know how to sing . This song did not need this much lip singing , and that’s the only disconnect , but she’s finding it hard to be vulnerable so I can look past it but it feels like such a missed opportunity .
