Really kind of them to help out. I think I have a few different version of those wind up turtles. I seem to get given them all the time. I'll check what winders they have.
As a new collector this video is a great cautionary tale to me of not going too far down the rabbit hole of collecting line variants! But, boy, it sure is neat! Great work!
So cool to finally see this project starting to unveil! I've bought quite a few MIB/MOC vintage TMNT toys just to get nice vac-metal, flocking, soft goods, stickers etc. for display. Gotta admit that cutting the tape or ripping the bubble always feels like committing a crime. 😅
Thank you for what you're doing, and I want to mention how really important it is! With how important the original TMNT line is to toy history, it's amazing how much of this stuff has gone undocumented.
Yeah i cant help but feel we will need another He-Man book soon to cater for the Origins toyline at the very least, thats without going into Masterverse, Mondo etc
I have the original TMNT Technodrome and Sewer Playset in new open box. And I've got two Blimp II's in new open box. And the Technodrome Scout, and several of the Cheapskates new in open box. And probably a few other things as well.
Open more vintage boxed items - that was fun to watch! 😀 . I'm really looking forward to the eventual "project" - I caught you sort of but not really talking about it in Hartford a couple of years ago - can't wait!
Monday I was in spirit Halloween store and come across Netflix master of the universe revelation he-man custom and thought that would be cool to cosplay as most powerful man in the universe
A mint in box vehicle that isn’t actually mint or hasn’t got great paint applications is certainly a scary thought. That is insane. Luckily I don’t primarily collect sealed stuff but I do have some.
Wow... Broken in the sealed box.... That's way more scary than a horror movie! Can't imagine if I purchased a sealed box for high price, then later you discover that's a part broken/snapped inside.... (Also this one of the reason I prefer to collect loose figures/vehicles with complete accessories, won't want to get sealed box which you can't see inside)
Dude cannot wait for your turtle book. I hope it’s about 79 inches thick and you include all of the turtles. Don’t tell us you’re not doing the turtle book as we know you are we’ve been spying on you Dan.
Secret... ...I'm not even sure how long it's been since I figured it out. 1 or 2 years, I actually made a comment on the video I figured it out on. I'm going to grab this one too. When the first wave of Turtles came out I was very into Transformers and then all of a sudden we all had Turtles. I'm still way into Transformers but there is a spot for cartoon-accurate Turtles.
But the real challenge is walking about without your shoes popping off, these lifts work only on boots or hi-top sneakers, any other shoe and you will look awkward.
As a collector exiting the hobby, for the most part, variants annoyed me and I paid them little attention. As for the MIB stuff, I realized that my collection was breaking down and would eventually be more and more broken pieces.
i've been looking high and low for giant TMNT the original ones, and here you have a box filled with them, and no one bats an eye.. Heard over in your place those go for what? 50 bucks? Those giant figures plus getting centurions, might be the last thing i want to collect myself and end it with those. if i had time i'd hop on a plane, and come by to just pick 4 of those up xD Becuase neighter of those ar available here that much. Also, secret project? a TMNT action figure photo book? just like the previous MOTU one you did? NO? your hints didn't work, you are like a steel trap.
You would know about variants way better than me. You're the expert. But for me a variant is a deliberate difference in paint. Not a slightly different shade of the same color. To me, that can be chalked up to the factory running out of a specific color and substituting it for the run. A variant to me is when there are two specifically different versions, like Ray filet.
What is your opinion on replacing parts for vehicles and weapons with 3d printed replacements to make a vintage "complete loose" again? I have recently acqired vintage 1977 Star Wars and OG Mirage TMNT figures myself and am embarking on a journey myself. Any tips of cleaning vintage action figures and for example a 1979 Millennium Falcon?
Who's excited about my secret project?
Me! ☝️
Pretty awesome to get to see some of the process and all the generous support from people like Meep Meepleton's.

The He-Man Toys books are amazing.. can not wait to see this!
Day 1 for sure!! But could you please consider organizing it in chronological/ wave order instead of alphabetical?
This was awesome!! And extra thumbs up for the checkerboard Vans!!
I had great experience with John in the past. Super cool kid!
Free the plastic!!! Love seeing vintage toys being released
I can’t wait to own this book! Love the MOTU book you did and that was something just like this I always wanted to see done. So thank you!
Really kind of them to help out. I think I have a few different version of those wind up turtles. I seem to get given them all the time. I'll check what winders they have.
Pixel Dan here living the dream!
Can’t wait to see the end result of all your hard work😊
A vintage turtle collector guide book? Like the MOTU one? Can’t wait to buy one
I've seen a couple different Wacky Action Splinter variants, but didn't realize the turtles had them too. Definitely looking forward to this project!
Open them all Dan! Love it. Regarding the broken item in the sealed box, perfect example why not to buy graded toys sealed in a box.
As a new collector this video is a great cautionary tale to me of not going too far down the rabbit hole of collecting line variants! But, boy, it sure is neat! Great work!
I love these documentation projects!

Wish I had been there for that Vintage 90's Toy Smell! Lol
Turtles 🐢 🤙

That must have felt amazing opening those boxes. Most of us haven't done that since we were 10.
What an awesome project!
Awesome job
That book will be on a pedestal in my collection. Awesome stuff Dan.
Can't wait to see finished project great video Dan
can't wait for putting the turtles book next to the he-man one in my shelf 😍
Yeah i cant help but feel we will need another He-Man book soon to cater for the Origins toyline at the very least, thats without going into Masterverse, Mondo etc
Dan looks so much younger with his hair in the unboxing stages of this video and no mohawk.
I have the original TMNT Technodrome and Sewer Playset in new open box. And I've got two Blimp II's in new open box. And the Technodrome Scout, and several of the Cheapskates new in open box. And probably a few other things as well.
Great video as always Dan! Love dem toitles!!
Awesome job dan with the toy hunting drop a like for you.
A great feeling seeing the cheap skate 2 assembled. This episode was digging up some turtle nostalgia for sure.
Fantastic mate
yo can we talk about that fridge in the background there? what a wave of memories that brought back to me

I just opened a Night Fighter RoboCop out of a ratty cardback and bubble. His chest was broken, and you could not tell while it was sealed.
I would like a book of GI Joe by Pixel Dan
Can not wait until those concrete announcements!
At points triying to collect every variant, must feel like trying to collect every type of snowflake
Use a Ruler slide undearneath the Flap and pull up, instead of creasing the flap as seen here.
Well, mint in Box is of great Value...but sometimes scientific Research is of more importance😉
Monday I was in spirit Halloween store and come across Netflix master of the universe revelation he-man custom and thought that would be cool to cosplay as most powerful man in the universe
That’s a real Schrödinger's cat situation. Both MIB and not at the same time.
Today on Schrödinger boxed vintage toys hunt - will it be mint or not? myaaaaaah

13:58 I had that same exact issue my box was slightly water damaged but otherwise the contents inside where mind except that seat
I’ve been waiting ever since masters book got published! Btw next toy show I still need mine signed. I always forget to bring it

I had the raft, I had the raft! But let me tell you something, the accesories were orange.
Are you doing a book on TMNT toys?
Secret... ...I'm not even sure how long it's been since I figured it out. 1 or 2 years, I actually made a comment on the video I figured it out on. I'm going to grab this one too. is it a book?
A shame that seat broke off!! Old toys are notorious for brittle plastic!!!
My boy has no idea he let the word "book" slip out at 16:56.
When is that video coming out

Cutting that tape is like fingernails on a chalkboard....you cads

If someone gets mad at you because you opened a sealed toy that isn't theirs, they need serious help.
