Not sure if you mentioned it but Gabubond using the Ancient Garuru and ukko engine is also pretty nasty. Made a few tops in JP bt17 but now topping pretty consistently in bt18! I'd honestly place it a little higher than red hybrid
The problem for us is that we are gonna be missing a key card for that deck till december unfortunately Gabubond ace was released at the same time as BT17 in japan
@@LaIslaFileTCG the deck still works fine without the ace tbh, you're usually not keeping a gabumon on the field and usually just deleting and rehatching with the analog/lui engine to do it again.
this, but usually people hide behind "but the west is BO3". that doesn't change much. the only thing that might make a shift is when cards are released in different timeframe, e.g. Ukkomon (IIRC west got it quicker than JP relative to the set), or when they are hard-headed af, e.g. the Blue Hybrid era - Tommy did nothing in JP yet got banned lol.
You can still predict. NA players and Jp players have (usually) fundamentally different play styles. That and card releases are a bit more wonky here with good cards in side set. Like for Jp they had scramble by now. We won’t.
reason ancient garurumon is so strong and seeing a lot of tops in Jp is because its super aggro while also being a counter to numemon
Hey what about the omnimon ace deck?
How do you feel about Cherubimon/Alliance?

Kinda pointless to "predict" how good decks are when we've seen exactly how good they are in japan already...
