It is difficult to comprehend what I just watched. The some of the techniques employed are challenging with machine tools… and to do it with so many intricate parts and detail precise enough to assemble it without adhesives or fasteners? Grandpa made leaf spring suspension and working steering out of wood!…. By hand! If I were to successfully carve just one of the fire extinguishers or shovels, I would feel like I had created a masterpiece, but for Grandpa…it’s just an accessory! I am in awe. He has “won” woodworking.

if you offered a kid this wood toy OR a cheap plastic fire engine that is colorful, he would pick the plastic one every time... sure its wholesome to build this but you must understand your target audience
Well, don't give him the choice then. He'll have as much fun with this one. It's way more sturdy and if something breaks grandpa can just fix it. And when he grows up it can become a great ornament and memory of grandpa.
I mean, there is tools that i've never seen being used in wood and it he make it looks easy, but i am sure that this required YEARS of experience and research to be able to make it by hands... Just impressive.
@@Kiyoone takes a lot of time and a lot of skill and work, but its not worth it. A machine can produce a superior product that the child will prefer, and at a fraction of the cost, and time. This is wholesome crap that makes you feel good but has no place in the modern world.
