I'd go to a club every night if music like this is played every single night.
No doubt 👍
A true swingin' original that Gene Krupa! Seems his name is starting to re-surface more as people might be appreciating his swing and originality a little more. Just My feeling.
I was privileged to see Krupa perform with his trio in a music store in Union, New Jersey. This was in the 60s.
Excellent. Thanks for the memories. Thumbs up indeed.
No matter how many years go by a chart like this stands up. Great Music like Genes Boogie makes life worth living. here you have the magical sensational showmanship drumming of Gene Krupa and his orchestra. Always remember this not only did Gene have showmanship he had the class and style of drumming that made instant fans of his. I was one of them. thanks for posting this masterpiece in music and in drumming. thank you BOOM
Great stuff! This is from the 1948 B-movie musical "Glamour Girl", featuring Gene Krupa & His Orchestra, Jack Leonard and Susan Reed. It's not a great film by any stretch. It does, however, have this great tune from Krupa and some sweet folks songs from Susan Reed.
None better than Gene Krupa.
Jonh Bonham and Ginger Baker and Joe Morello to name a few.
Different era, Different styles but with Gene Krupa, 4 of the greatest drummers of all time.
@@ep672 Everyone of those drummers Bonham, Baker and Morello we're probably inspired to play after listening to Krupa!!!

I discovered swing music in general and Gene Krupa in particular when I stumbled upon a Krupa EP in the late 1960's. At a time when most rock drummers played simple beats, Krupa was a revelation!! He was a rock star before there was rock. I've also long been amused by the succession of similarly named female vocalists in his bands: Irene Daye, Anita O'Day and Carolyn Grey. If he could have hired Doris Day away from Les Brown the cycle would have been complete.
Is that Lois Lane answering the phone? Wow...
Yup
If you pay attention you can see genes rack tom is set at different angles during the “same” take of the song
So you know that the scene was shot in pieces and edited together and of course the backing track was dubbed in
Its a movie after all
Don't matter. It still sounds good.
WOW NOEL NIEL , THE FUTURE LOIS LANE AS THER OPERATOR !!!
She's still alive at 102??!?!
Phyllis Coates ?

Plot twist....... "The Trio" ends up being The Three Stooges (hilarity ensues....)
