    Hi! I am interested to do kinetic studies but have very little idea about it. Could you please guide me to how to actually use it and interpret for my project which is absorbing antibiotic

    Hi, may I know how you calculate adsorption capacity (q) if we took the sample for UV-vis for every 15 mins. Does the V to calculate q change to? Or you just took the initial V of the sample?

      For an estimation, you can use the initial V to calculate q. Of cause you can take into account the parts that were sampled out, but the calculations would be very complicate.

    Please when you want to adjust for pH. Do you adjust the pH of the dye solution before adding the Adsorbent or when you add the Adsorbent to the dye solution before adjustment for pH

      It is not a necessary step to adjust pH for adsorption test, except if you know that your adsorbent only works in a certain pH range. If that is the case, I think you should adjust the pH of the solution before doing adsorption. Of course it will change the color of most of the dye solution.

    Could you teach me what is the interpretation of values K and n in freundlich isoterma?

    • @water_waste_labs_media_hub
      @water_waste_labs_media_hub  3 года назад +1

      K is adsorption capacity(L/mg) and 1/n is adsorption intensity.

    What was the wavelength at which you took the absorbance readings?

    • @water_waste_labs_media_hub
      @water_waste_labs_media_hub  2 года назад

      It will depends on which sorbate you used. You can perform a full spectral scan of the target sorbate to determine it's peak absorption wavelength. For Methylene Blue, the wavelength to be used is at 660 nm.

      @@water_waste_labs_media_hub Thank you very much for your response. Can you share the wavelength range for Malachite green and Congo Red dyes?

    • @water_waste_labs_media_hub
      @water_waste_labs_media_hub  2 года назад +1

      Malachite Green (λ max 617 nm)
      Congo Red (λ max 498 nm)

    Why did you add water to the standard sample? Because you put the solution on the doses without water, it was not supposed to put water for the standard sample.
    Plase i want understand why add water for strandard sampe.
    Also I have anther Q
    What is the purpose of preparing different concentrations when you did not use them in the experiment?

    • @water_waste_labs_media_hub
      @water_waste_labs_media_hub  Год назад +1

      Do you mean the one with 0 g of AC? That one is used as baseline reference through the reaction process without any AC. The different conc. solutions are for preparation of calibration curve.
