The natural ease of Sinner's game is absolutely outrageous.
These highlights don't do justice to Gasquet; it is obvious that he is less strong than Sinner, but in this match he was a real fighter, he didn't spare himself, he played the first set very well and even afterwards he gave everything he had, he even sustained long rallies, he played with a lot of concentration. He lost, it was inevitable against the world number 1, but honour to the French tennis player for his fighting spirit. It was not a boring match, on the contrary! My respect from Italy for Gasquet 👍👍

My impression watching the game Sinner didn’t want to humiliate Gasquet so he let him to play some good shots. At the second set Gasquet was already without energy
Great training session for Sinner, he was in full total control of the match, he treated Gasquet like a decent sparring partner, good for training himself for the next rounds and to gain back his form. Mission accomplished

I watched the full match . Of course jannick in full control anytime . Not a single risk except for a break ball deleted with a small row of perfect serves . He was trying changes , adjusting his game , looking for different solutions , he’s just like a pro tailor taking measurements for his best suit. He’s not only powerful , he’s HEAVY. Always focused til the last point , he’s a 4th millenium machine

if sinner wins in paris, he becomes nr. 1 - reaching 10725 points, which is pretty much.
if sinner loses in the final, but djokovic wins, djokovic stays nr. 1 with a 45 point gap.
if sinner loses in the final, but djokovic doesnt make it there, sinner becomes nr. 1.
if sinner makes it to the semi-final, djokovic HAS to win, otherwise sinner becomes nr. 1.
if sinner makes it to the quarter-final, djokovic HAS to reach the final, otherwise sinner becomes nr. 1.
if sinner makes it to the 4th round, djokovic HAS to reach the final, otherwise sinner becomes nr. 1.
as it stands now, sinner in the 3rd round, djokovic... oops, ALSO has to make it to the final to stay nr. 1.

According to the English commentary Gasquet was outplayed and outhit…I watched a bit of the match..Gasquet.. had some good moments especially in the 3rd set…he hit some incredible backhand passes ..leaving Jannik standing….great effort…. The great amazing British players would look stupid against Sinner…if they were still in round 2!!!
