You're both quite nearsighted and because you both wear glasses full time your eyes have completely adjusted to your glasses for seeing things close up as well as seeing things at a distance. I'm a retired optician and when you both started wearing glasses i'm sure that you were still very able to even read very tiny print without glasses. But the more you were wearing your glasses when reading small print the more you were slowly starting to find reading small to be more and more difficult for you until you could no longer read that small at all without glasses anymore. I was actually very impressed with your ability to somewhat be able to see the "birdie" well enough at time to return serve. I'm sure you really couldn't see it coming at you until the very last minute. I was even surprised that you could even see it when it was some distance away from laying on the ground. At -5.00 and -6.00 I honestly would think that even with it only being very close to you without glasses you wouldn't be able to see it at all. By the way when did both of get your first pair of glasses? By the way you both look really cute with and without your glasses.
