I felt Swami completely lost the point on the AI question. The concern was not on who contributes to the development of AI but rather its impact on the masses. India is trying to create manufacturing jobs for our large low skilled / unskilled masses. But with the advent of AI those jobs would no longer exist. What is the plan then ? Are they going to remain in the agricultural sector where wages are very low. How can we become a developed country when we are largely an agrarian economy with no option to go up the value chain since AI will eliminate the need for that transition. That is my concern.
AI will save the US economy but for us it's going to be a massive trouble.
Massive Hunger, massive joblessness, massive poverty, massive crimes..... Basically massive bad times!
Just remembered Mr Kapil Sibal's speech in Parliament regarding Mr Subramaniam Swamy. Seems like his views have changed over the years, more so after he is not in the government since last 10 years.

However, except Swamy one has not heard even a single economic pundit or economist supporting that theory., neither from Cong or any other party. Not even the fuddy-duddy CPI.

ALL THIS is becoming nauseating to hear again & again in every interview of his. .

Swamy, a cerebral intellectual alright is a typical case of ego taking over. Kapil in usual style is trying to gaslight him into speaking rubbish against Modi and the Government. A case of utterly sour grapes for both. One got the boots from the Cong, the other got belted by the BJP, However, some of the points and concrete recommendations made by Swamy seem interesting. If Sibal is true to his job, he should try and obtain point by point rebuttal from FM Nirmala Sitaraman or the current CEA Nageswaran or even better Sanjeev Sanyal , who is member of the Economic Advisory Council of the Prime Minister. Boss - entire discussion is biased. Half the discussion is on per capita and that India is at the bottom among G20 countries. Per capita is a function of GDP and population. In short term, country has control only over GDP. We cannot bring down population drastically unless there is a war OR wide-spread epidemic. "Shoot for the stars and you might land on the moon". Don't get stuck at 5 trillion economy. It was just a vision to galvanize and drive growth. There is still tangible growth in spite of covid and related subsidies. I think Swamiji has moved from pro BJP to anti BJP. I agree things are happening slow but it is happening. A country which never had latrine for their daily chores now has moved to a state where infrastructure growth is tremendous specially in the defence sector.

We are in the age of AI unfolding and automating functions for living, working, earning, learning, statecraft....
In near future it will be about prompting and getting the right answers always, on every topic on earth and beyond. Knowledge is required only to select the right model and fine tune it. Rest will follow automatically.
Need for Economics, Econometrics, Economists and similar fields of expertise will be very few and they are rarely used. Lawyers will flourish using AI. Decision makers are required to know the strengths and weeknesses of the assissting models made available to them.

@@vijayrajan5792 - When the guy who exposed the 2G scam sits with a guy who patented the 'zero loss' theory on 2G 🤣🤣 , discussing about the economic prospects - I can sense the wind (although I mentioned it only in humor but don't believe it will actually happen). He is trying to find support from wherever he can. Also, If you watch Swamy's interviews from 2012-2014 (he attacked Manmohan singh for being a spineless nice guy - although he never called him corrupt. At the same time he never gave Manmohan singh enough credit for 1991 reforms by saying those reforms happened due to Narsimharao and himself as he was then the commerce minister. But now @ 14:00 here says Manmohan never got credited for it).
Nobody has any doubts about his knowledge and intellect, but he selectively chooses to attack. I am not saying BJP is doing all the great work (there is room for correction with them as well). But their approach to provide a clean governance with incremental systemic reforms is better than corruption driven mess created from 2004-2014.
