    Just ordered the same guitar used for $1200. Same color too. Can’t wait to get it.

    Getting rid of a great guitar because of a problem pot is just foolish. It’s not hard at all to get fixed.

    It's always disappointing to get a defective product but wow... Such a dramatic "I deserve perfection!" overreaction. It makes you look worse than PRS.

    That is not uncommon, it just needs contact cleaner. I have had that happen on two guitars, a couple quick spritz of Radio Shack contact cleaner into the switch fixed it each time (for good).

    I agree that the Sweetwater 55 point inspection isn't worth that much. I bought a guitar from Sweetwater earlier this year and when it arrived I threw it on the scale because it seemed quite heavy for 6 pounds and change, it weighed in at well over 8 pounds. Mistakes happen, but I chose the lightest guitar out of the bunch, and it turned out to be heavier than any of the others, assuming they were listed correctly. I returned it.
    However, and I hope you don't take offense to this, but your response to the situation seems to lack some emotional maturity. That guitar just got a bad pot that happened to fail while you were filming a video. It's not personal. Things happen, that's why guitars have warranties, just like every other consumer product.
    I can understand wanting to return the guitar after that, but dwelling on it isn't a good look.

    Absolute same thing happened to mine. Got from Sweetwater as well. They had already gave me a great deal. It was a bad solder job. My guy gave it a full setup and it plays and sounds incredible. For a $1699 list guitar...I ended up paying $1437 including tax for it...SWEET

    From Leo: An electronic control can fail on any piece of equipment. Sorry it spoiled your experience. Even if it was 1 in 10,000 in the overall production, it was 1 on 1 for you. I bought a new car that had a bad engine, the dealer replaced it and was very apologetic. It was a great car that I happily drove for years with no more problems, but is was pretty hard to enjoy it for the first year or so.

    That is crazy that it died so quickly. Well, at least you got it on video! I can understand you not keeping it, too. A bad taste in the mouth sometimes doesn’t wash out so easily.

    Hmmmm.... I have three non core PRS guitars and all are solid in every aspect. Seems like the potentiometer simply went out which I agree you wouldn’t expect in that price range. It’s all too bad...I see failure in quality anymore in just about everything these days. But at the end of the day to have something brand new not work is unacceptable. Some of the builds you’ve done are probably more solid than a lot of the produced instruments out there. Keep up the great videos and let’s hear that TSL122 😎

      After 15 years of being my only amp the TSL blew a tube socket. Since then I've been using it as my main speaker cabinet. The audio in my videos is a combination of that cabinet in the room and a Two Notes Torpedo M running into Ableton Live. I'm very protective of my hearing so I use the Rivera Rock Crusher to load the output and keep my in-room volume below 70 dB.

    I have a 2015 single cut s2 standard and a vela, my luck was different they came in perfect. Only set them up once, awesome work horses never failed me. Maybe quality control is slipping on the S2 line with the high demand. And more attention give to the core and the high-end models.

    Can you imagine the guitarist in the 50’s that had a Gibson Les Paul standard with a bad pot(maybe a bad pickup ) and 70 years later tells all his friends how he got rid of it cuz it left a bad taste in his mouth. (And then sees it sale at auction for 150k) . Sorry. It’s all I could think about when I watched this, but it makes you think.

    That's a real shame about your PRS s2 i had gotten a great amp 400 + mesa boogie bass amp and it kept blowing fuses and repeatedly so i definitely understand you could check out ED Roman guitars made in USA guitars they make a wide variety of guitars plus tons of info on his web site

  • @HalfDeadGeezers

    There is an added risk of buying a defective guitar when buying online. Had you been in a guitar store and played it for 30 minutes, it would have broken there. Still would have left a bad taste and these days, the chances of finding the model you want in the color you want are pretty slim. Sorry for your disappointment. Enjoy the G&L.

  • @trentrez6643
    @trentrez6643 2 года назад

    So, just because something didnt go perfectly, admittedly (by you) through no fault of PRS or their inspection team, you felt the need to throw not just the original tantrum ("im getting a G&L instead now"), but also this passive aggressive video tantrum. Wahh, Its electronics man, some times they are going to do things like this. It could have even been damaged somehow in shipping too. But, whatever, hold your lame little grudge against PRS. Find something better to complain about, like "why no hardshell case for USA models?"
