- In today's video, I begin my journey from the cool city of Baguio, heading towards Sagada. After resting for a day in Baguio, I left early in the morning at 6 AM, ready to tackle the uphill roads and mountainous terrain ahead. Baguio, known for its beautiful landscapes and cool weather, was a challenge to cross due to the steep roads and pollution. Along the way, I passed by the famous Botanical Garden, but decided not to enter as I was focused on my journey.
The road from Baguio to Sagada is reminiscent of Nepal, with mountains, farms, and busy roads lined with houses. The people I met were kind, offering smiles and small conversations along the way. I stopped for a quick breakfast of pancakes and coffee before continuing on my challenging ride.
The day was cold, and I could feel the altitude as I climbed higher. Prices in this area were quite high, so I kept my food intake simple with just biscuits and coffee. By nightfall, I reached Atok, a small town nestled at an elevation of 2000m. I approached the local police station and asked for shelter. The officers were welcoming, checked my passport, and offered me a warm meal of chicken adobo and rice.
The cold in Atok was intense, and after a long, tiring day of cycling, I was grateful for the shelter and hospitality. I slept early to rest up for the next day's adventures.
