E Gomez yes unfortunately the brown color of los haitises was because of record high rainfalls causing rivers to overflow earlier that month (November 2016), there was major flooding in much of the country...it did made for a spectacular falls of Salto Limon though, but even there under the falls it is usually a teal color ;-)
