  • Today we're discussing recent developments in HIV prevention, with the introduction of a new injection pilot project. After 43 years since the identification of HIV, significant strides have been made in the treatment, such as antiretroviral (ARVs), and other interventions. Today, we use this opportunity to engage in a broader discussion surrounding HIV research and prevention. I am joined in studio by Dr Kgosi Letlape a health activist and President of Africa Harm Reduction Alliance, Nqobile Shabalala who is capacity-building coordinator from the Treatment Action Campaign and via teams we are joined by Dr Sengeziwe Sibeko, Chief Research Specialist in the Human Sciences Research Council and Jackie Maimin, CEO of the Independent Community Pharmacy Association.
