There are more between Jordan (the goat) and James. He may have the all-time leading scoring record under his belt, but not when scoring actually leads to wins.

Also, James all-time leading scoring record is only due to the fact that he has played for so long. When comparing the first 13 playing years of both players, MJ leads in points and steals in 52 fewer games. In fact, MJ still has more total steals than LBJ. If MJ hadn't retired those two times during his career, it is possible that LBJ would not have the scoring record.

In my opinion Magic Johnson was better than Lebron James. Am I saying physically talented? No! But in today's NBA culture looks and physical ability and in some cases stats trump any realistic appraisal of a players ability to win and lead their teams to success. I'd take prime magic johnson over Lebron any day of the week to lead my team at the highest levels.

I would say this about MJ if he had a KILLER INSTINCT, UNPARALLELED MENTALITY, RELENTLESS COMPETITIVE DRIVE, ICE-COLD NERVES UNDER PRESSURE ETC. WTF happened to it? If he had the attributes assigned to him by others HE WOULD STILL HAVE THEM AND THEY WOULD BE ON DISPLAY AND HE WOULD STILL BE WINNING. MJ was in a fortunate situation with the Bulls - I GUARANTEE THAT IF HE WAS PLAYING TODAY, BUT INSTEAD OF PLAYING FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP ORIENTED, COMPETENTLY LED ORIGINATION, HE PLAYED FOR THE CHARLOTTE HORNETS. IN THAT CASE HE WOULDN'T WIN A DAMN THING IN TERMS OF CHAMPIONSHIPS
