    I have this rod and it is my favorite! It has a soft but not too soft action so I use it for jigg fishing and spin fishing (cast weights up to 12g) for perch, pike and zander. I have a Shimano Stradic4+ 1000 with Berkley Fireline 0,08mm braided line with a Berkley Flouro Carbon tip 0,30mm). The only problem is that I miss hooking a few larger zander but it is ok for me. I also have westin and g-loomis rods but use this the most. Another Savage Gear rod I bought but have not tried yet is a 0-5g 6'6"... Biggest fish I have landed on this rod is a 5kg pike. Love Savage Gear!

    Really good video, convinced me into buying the rod, but the 9-32 gram and I have a lot of fun with it, definetley the best rod for light and medium fishing that I have tried.

    got the same rod. I love it. has plenty of power in reserves for when a Jack hits the lure.

    I’ve got a Savage Gear hitch hiker 5-20g and find that behaves much like that rod. Great fun and so light to use, with backbone should you hook a bigger fish. Casts soft and hard lures further than my old Abu 9ft spinning rod.

    Hi guys I own all series of the black savage rods. They are ready great except 20-60 gram. Tip snap on 3 rods and ones the rod snap just about the handle when I was fighting 16 pounds pike.... I would really recommend this rods to anyone form an experience anglerssame as to beginners... this series of the rods are great combo with the new okuma helios sx reels for 2-7 g rod sx20 and for 10-32g sx30 !!!! The drag of the reels is just fantastic same as on shimano or expensive daiwa reels !!! Hard to beat !!!🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈

    perfekna udicka ma riecny privlac. sam ju vlastnim a vytiahlo to aj 60ku zubaca. dokonca na rieke morava 50cm bolen.vydrzi toho dost...odhodi bez problemou do 10-12g. 15g.pri dlhsom odhode uz robi problem.vrelo odporucam.da sa pouzit tiez ako mala udicka na plavacik :-) zabavna udicka.

      joe hallam not exactly small. I’m using 1000 reel on this rod and works awesome. The only difference is the fact that i,ve got the 2-12 rod and i’m very happy with this

    Can't believe I just found out about these rods. Matt black rods... genius! Does this rod have any recommended line test? Been thinking about importing one from the UK and would hate to damage it!

    • @HookedGB
      @HookedGB  5 лет назад

      Hi there! I would recommend using braid up to around 8lb. They are great little rods with plenty of power further down in the blank so you'll be hard pushed to damage it. All the best. Jay & crew

      I use the exact same rod with 5.9 kg test nanofil for fairly light dropshoting. It’s my absolute fave. The finish is delicious. 😋

    Hi
    I have a Savage Gear Finezze 5-21g.
    Is it a good rod for pikes and catfish ? There is also 10-31g version but its so stiff.
    Regards Michael

    • @HookedGB
      @HookedGB  6 лет назад +1

      Altairs007 Hi Michael, the 5-21g is quite light for pike as I would normally recommend the 10-31g. However as long as you play the fish well the 5-21g should be fine and give you some great sport. If you are going after the Wels catfish I would go for a much heavier rod. Hope that helps. Tight lines. Jay. ☺️🎣👍🏼

    ultra light rods are rods from 0-5 g. 0-10 gram are light rods.

    • @Ari_Calamari
      @Ari_Calamari 5 лет назад

      I don’t think there’s a consensus on this. I think 2-7 grams is within UL range. As long as max weight is below 10 grams. Imo.
