The EP is great. Will has said in an interview that each song hits different and they are put in the order they are to tell a story. Definitely a fan of this direction.
It’s not often when I can’t honestly pick a favorite song on an album or ep. You’ll say ____ is your favorite then the next track plays, so you hear it fresh and boom new fav. it’s equally as challenging as picking the least favorite 🥴. It’s one movie and each track is an act.
I’m saying this now: it’s between this song and Ultima Hypocrita for song of the year in my opinion. What a song, that intro gave me goosebumps. The solo and the drums, man the whole song felt like a journey. It’s a goddamn masterpiece, I loved To the Hellfire and Of the Abyss but man this song just hit different. I love it, I agree with Chels. This is an 11/10.
I read an article about this EP that said the last song of the EP, “… And I Return to Nothingness,” lacks the breakdowns because it’s essentially a reflection piece from an instrumental standpoint of their roots with how they began. Oh my god THE BEAUTY! Clean guitar! Absolutely CRISP and roaring thunder drums! Did you notice the almost jazz ghost notes the drummer used?! Unheard of in this genre! NOBODY attempts that, and look at what they achieved by using it!
I know, right?! The drummer does this three times that you can for sure tell. The second one is listed above, the other two are approximately at 1:22 and 3:08.
@@Achilles513 I don't know where you've been. ghost notes of this type have been around deathcore for years, its just not the major bands that use them a lot. Even metalcore over the last 2 years has been implementing a lot of jazz like ghost notes as well. just listen a little harder

This is just a perfect ep!! I love everything about it. I too have probably listened to to the hellfire hundreds of times, when it first released i had it on repeat for hours while at work!!! These guys are just insane
I remember the first time I heard that first hit of "Breathe" in the song and I instantly realized these guys know they are so good they have to remind you to lock it back in lol. Lorna Shore is always breath taking, thank you for the great experience as always!

For me, the story of the EP is: 'To The Hellfire' smashes open the Hellgate. 'From The Abyss' takes us down us where the demons dwell in the deep dark. 'And I Return To Nothingness' Angels lift us from the depths back to the lightness of being and our souls can rest.
