Dubai is crazy. I was there seven or eight years ago and I was almost arrested because I did not have the proper attire at the beach. I was simply dressed in jeans and a long sleeves shirt, since I had recently arrived from Munich. The excuse the undercover cop gave me was that I could be carrying drugs or weapons. Fortunately nothing happened, but you would think the more clothes you have on would be better in a country like that.

Lived in Dubai and a family member got sent to jail for 3 days because he was a day late on his car payment, and when you're late instead of sending you an email warning you to pay they just put out a warrant for your arrest, we were VERY lucky our family didn't get deported and he was only there for a few (very awful) days that ended up giving him mad anxiety. Super fun :)))))))))

Concerning the city in Mexico: Even if you don't have the money to leave- just do it! I did. What I did was left the dangerous city for my families safety, became homeless for a 1/2 year, got an address from one of those PO Box places, saved every penny I could though any kind of work I could fine and recycling, we ate like crap for a while but... Eventually, I was able to save up enough for a crappy apartment in the most ghetto part of town. Once I established a place to live I worked on getting a steady job and so on. I did this as a single Mom w/2 kids. It can be done, just takes the will to want a better life. My kids are now grown and appreciate the hard work I did on their behalf. You don't need to leave your home country to make a better life, just a new city with new opportunities.
Washington DC, Orlando Fla, Atlanta Ga, all recently had terrorist attacks. wars and terrorism are sad facts of life, this list was obviously cities that were dangerous for separate reasons.
I have a friend who lives in Mumbai. That city could really benefit by building massive recycling centers. Not only would much of their waste be recycled into new products, but these centers would employ thousands of unskilled workers who are currently unemployed. Additionally, much of their waste is compostable, which would benefit public parks and gardens. Perhaps poor families could have kitchen gardens in places where garbage was dumped historically?
calichef1962 these are all awesome ideas...only one problem though: all of those people would have to put in the effort everyday to do those things. Seems like they all just want to throw stuff away and not think about it anymore.
As a former resident of Mumbai and a person who loves the place, I will have to agree with the comment above. We have so many ways to cure the problems we are facing, but corruption, hooliganism and the sheer not-my-backyard attitude always dampens the work effort. Add to that the monumental rate at which the city and it's population is growing, only worsens the situation.
Tried to sell Mumbai recycling centres in 01-03 what they said surprised me but end effect no interest. So don't look to have much of a change there any time soon. They can talk the talk, but well walk the walk. They're a generation behind and the rich will get rich with as minimal spending as possible SO ALL WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE
Average IQ of 80-85, it all goes downhill from there.. Then the absolutely heinous backward culture, but yeah just blame British colonialism and the humidity for the monumental dysfunction of the 'Next Big Tiger Economy!' Meowwwwwwww...
Me: "Hmmmmm, I wonder if my home town of Cleveland is on here. Probably not, there's nothing horrific here...." First one on the list. Me: "Yeah.....yeah I can see that."
It sounded to me like Cleveland was included because he needed to find one in the US; the murder city in Canada sounded worse. It also sounded to me like both those issues are historical and seem to have burnt out. I was most intrigued by the waste management problem cities in Nigeria and India. Those are problems that can be solved and maybe some kind of international project can offer help. Cleaning up can be a profitable business for someone if they're willing to take it on and can get government buy in to encourage citizen participation.

I'm from Cleveland.... and I have yet to be murdered by a serial killer. It's actually an ok city to live in if you avoid the sketchy areas, like any other city.
Jim Fixx it’s clearly biased. No mentioning of any european cities. Did he speak to anyone in Rio? I doubt he did, probably just seem some articles online and went with it.
@Ken Lompart It's such bs, he just wanted to include a US city. A couple of murderers throughout 100 years hardly makes it unsafe for the millions of residents lol.
Yeah, by the numbers in that particular metric it seems bad, but that doesn't seem to jjstify Cleveland or London on this list. Not your best work sir, but I'll keep watching cuz i still like your stuff.
What Rio de Janeiro needs to ask is why are there so many homeless children??? Are the parents or parent just abandoning them?? Do they not have orphanages??? Not that an orphanage would be great, but they would know they will receive 3 meals a day, an education, and a bed every night. This is absolutely horrible, especially because so many Latin populations are Roman Catholic. I cannot remember off the top of my head what book and verse in the Bible that says it, but it states that a community should always feed and take care of the widows and orphans..... Wake up Rio!!!!!!!
No birth control ( because heavily Roman Catholic), widespread desperate poverty, and high numbers of people living in slums with little/no sanitation. That's a recipe for churning out lots of children before dying horribly from preventable diseases and leaving those children orphaned.
The problem with Rio goes much deeper than what is mentioned in the video. I do respect his opinion but it is biased. Rio is a bankrupt city within a bankrupt state (of the same name), and I mean morally and financially broken, corrupt to the core of it's institutions and values (with a few exceptions), universities filled with communists whose single preoccupation is to brainwash future generations, get money from government and use drugs. The downfall started with a communist governor (Leonel Brizola) during the 80's and seems to have no end in sight. It's a failed city and a failed state. To blame the police for the crimes committed is like blaming the rope for the hanging. It's just a shallow and biased point of view. By the way, I am Brazilian.
Jennie Kelly: Only one solution. Taxpayers would be more than happy to pay people to get sterilized. This would secure these poor people's future with productive society knowing that these unfortunate gene pools would not expand.

Pyongyang is a bad city to live in because of the creepy music waking the people up? Come on! Taking that human rights are continuously violated in North Korea, creepy music is the least problematic thing there
Have you ever seen that famous cross walk in Tokyo, Japan, it goes 3 ways? Anyway, when the light changes it plays a seriously creepy song, something that reminds you of Resident Evil video games or that horror movie. The premise behind playing this music is so "blind people" will know when to cross the street. All in the spirit of political correctness, so says this Gaijin.

Matthew Cornish, Yes, Dahmer is most infamous for his Milwaukee murders, but he actually committed his first murder as a teenager living in Akron, OH. But to me Akron, like Youngstown should be considered just outside the Cleveland metro area.
I sincerely doubt that the worst part of living in Pyongyang is a synth version of an opera song played over loud speakers for the whole city to listen to every morning.
Yeah in some ways a list like this is pejorative but in other ways it can draw attention to problems that need fixing and are fixable. Haiti could use some attention when it comes to outside help cleaning up corruption etc.

I am really sad to see Mumbai on 1st Rank. I am staying in Mumbai and during rains, it becomes even dirtier. However, the city is developing and it is now becoming more liveable. The economy of the entire city has improved a bit and new infrastructural projecs are going on. Railway stations and trains arr cleaner than ever. The workers are caring about the cleanliness. Mumbai is improving and as an Indian, I hope things will get quickly fixed under our Honourable Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi Ji. The West love to slag off India. Sad but true. Even though India has been a part of the allied nations and had some of the greatest casualties in every war in the last century it is still never appropriately mention. They gave China a, communist country all the manufacturing while giving India call centres so they can call people at home and piss them off. This has given the west's biggest enemy ( communism ) super power status. Once again the west has bit off their nose to spite their face and India once again will have to come to their aid. Not China or ( Pakistan, another western creation to hold India back from her true position as a global leader ) . Let the haters hate bc India will get there and when they do they will not be as naive to the West as they were over 2000 years ago when everyone coveted her knowledge and wealth. Peace
So you're saying that because London had a few serial killers in the 1950's it's a horrifying place to live? I grew up there and I promise you, it is not
Look, I know this is from several years ago and no one is going to read it, but comparing London, ON with cities that have prolific baby rapers and being jailed for reporting you've been raped is ludacris. I know Simon wants to be balanced and include something to surprise people, but this is too much of a stretch. As pointed out in an earlier post, just about any city other than London ON should be on the list before London ON. Hell, even London England is has a worse history of people being brutally killed if this list wants to include historical events. Sheesh!
Of course Nigeria is expanding fast. That's where a majority of the e-mail princes that want to give away their millions of dollars, if you send them money for the transfer fees, are from.

hattrick1972 That's just sad on your part. You don't generalise based on the exceptional experiences you've had. Only a small number of Nigerians, no more than those that exist everywhere else, are into Internet fraud. The sad reality is that many of you quickly assume your "Prince" mails are from Nigerians. If Nigeria was saturated with Internet scammers, everyone would be rich. Work on the way you think and stop generalising. No one calls America the serial killer capital of the world even though there is a serial killer in virtually every US city.
You call Cleveland, Ohio a "fairly large city, and London, Ontario "a small, unassuming town"...both have virtually the same population (approx 385,000 for each, give or take)
Sam Lemke well yes it's not like it could grow legs and walk away. But uranium is so radioactive and heavy that it most definitely moved. Also now that they have visual it should make it easier for containment. Just because they knew where it /should/ be does not mean that's where it was.

I've been a fan and daily viewer for literally years, but this vid leaves me deeply offended-- the city where BABIES GET RAPED is lost in the middle of the list but the city with outdated waste management is number one?!? I might gently suggest a re-evaluation here. I think it's fair to say that a LOT of cities have garbage problems--pollution has been a global concern for decades--but that thing about Johannesburg? I don't know whether to weep or puke. Never mind a bad city, that sounds like one of the outer circles of hell. Much worse than too much garbage, Simon.
While the problem is really bad jn Joburg its not quite as prolific as the video makes it out to be and those men aren't just going around on their business these days. How is air quality in Nigeria and trash in Mumbai worse than baby raping? Also: I kind of feel bad for hitting like on this video. There's nothing to like here.
I haven't finished the video yet but air pollution kills 9 million globally annually, baby raping is of course vile but it's not worse than millions dying from air pollution they're both extremely morally repugnant. Nigeria is 4th in the world for air pollution far worse than China, which is saying something considering how bad Chinese cities are.
I strongly agree polluting air and trash will stop may be in few years once these cities develop their infrastructure and waste management gradually. But I fear there will be more baby raping and serial killers in the future as these are happening in the worlds best developed cities as you have mentioned. Pollution and trash will kill so many people but its a slow poisoning. How about killing a baby or an innocent girl by the serial killers. It just happens in no time. I believe this is worse than anything else and horrifying to even to think about it.
@@shajantarcis4438 its horrifying certainly but its not as devastatingly brutal as the air quality problem in this world on a grand scale, it is, morbidly speaken, a local issue that needs fixing with new common conciousness, law and law enforcement, and awareness of how aids actually spreads. its a fairly local issue - bad air affects the entire world and kills the planet slowly and steadily as one of the many reason.
Kinda surprised that Detroit, Michigan USA wasn't on the list, to the high unemployment rate and the high crime rate as well. When the car manufacturing dried up, it left many people unemployed. With no jobs, many people moved out of Detroit, leaving it a near ghost town. There are attempts to revive Detroit, but only time will tell.

Hahaa, i find it funny that London, Ontario which is tiny, has a worse murder rate than the REAL London , England.. yet English London has at least 10 million people living there. Whats that all about? Hilarious
That’s a real stretch including Dahmer as a Cleveland serial killer when everyone knows his prime turf was Milwaukee, WI. Yes, his first murder was committed as a teen growing up outside of Akron in Bath, OH. But/and to me, and probably Clevelanders, places like Akron/Bath/Canton are NOT Cleveland.
You could put all of the active serial killers in the world in Cleveland, and the homicide rate still wouldn't approach what it is in Chicago, Detroit, and Washington, DC. Do the math.
Elizabeth Sullivan it is literally a top 10 video, meaning it's a contest, 'Top 10 Horrifying Cities You REALLY Don't Want to Live In' Cleveland is completely fine compared to those other cities mentioned.
I believe Alaska is the crime state of the U.S though. To be honest, people keep talking about Chicago and it's not even close to being the worst place in the U.S. There are about 30 cities in the U.S worse than Chicago but I have a feeling a politician name dropped Chicago and people really ran with that one.
Agreed, i went to college there and it’s not a “town” nor is it small. It’s as you said, a city of almost half a million people now. I think our fine commentator was ill informed on this one.
NYC- 8.4 million. London- 8.98 milliion people. Tokyo- 9.3 million. Torono 2.93 million, Montreal 1.78 million. sorry your feelings got hurt, but 400,000 is a town. also, try paying attention, in the video Simon clearly stated that London was the serial killer capital of the world up until 1984. 37 years ago. try to keep your panties from bunching and listen.
What do you mean by India is still better... Ma'am I believe you haven't visited India... In India the only place unsafe for anyone is the capital Delhi.. most of the indians hate Delhi.. it always shows the wrong picture of India.. rest all the metro cities, small towns, northeast India are safest... I think you should take Delhi out of your mind and then give opinion about India
Interesting article. I am not sure that Cleveland and London, Ontario should have been included in this list. Has the over all quality of life in these cities have been impacted by the fact of having a high percentage of serial killers?
I spent a month in Brazil back in 2002 as a 13yr old and Rio was the most horrible disgusting place I had ever been.. Truly an eye opener and nothing like the beautiful pictures we see
So, I grew up in London and also live here now. I'm also pretty knowledgeable about crime stats. London is boring and has a small town mentality and is very conservative in it's attitude. The crime has always been lower than average per capita than most Canadian cities, which means much lower than US cities. The only crime problem London ever really had was home break-ins. The serial killer thing was completely hidden from the citizens of London until just a few years ago. London has always averaged between 0 and 10 murders per year which is very low for a city of 400,000 people. London is actually a beautiful city and is know for an abundance of trees. It's nickname is The Forest City. My theory as to why the serial killers, is the fact that it is very close to 3 US border crossings so maybe it was Americans fleeing the law and settling here.
Fukushima is an entire prefecture. The exclusion zone comprises the eastern seaboard of the prefecture. Fukushima City, the capital of the prefecture, lies outside the exclusion zone. I think it's important to be specific with the geographic facts here.
There is this only one town in Fukushima Prefecture which is not suitable for living. I think people need to research more before making a video about this topic.
I agree. East Fukushima is, partially, lost. But west Fukushima is just fine, and we go there often. It's a beautiful, historical area full of hot springs.

Concerning the city in Mexico:
Even if you don't have the money to leave- just do it!

I don't know. I don't think a raped baby. Agrees with you.
They're a generation behind and the rich will get rich with as minimal spending as possible SO ALL WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE
Also, consider the fact that so many people defecate on the streets too. That certainly adds to the problems!

Are they anything like the havalina in Arizona? Because those things are evil.

Its just that outside of people in NE Ohio, those cities don't register to the general population like Cleveland does.

sorry your feelings got hurt, but 400,000 is a town. also, try paying attention, in the video Simon clearly stated that London was the serial killer capital of the world up until 1984. 37 years ago.
try to keep your panties from bunching and listen.
Come live in Australia, it’s an amazing and safe place to reside. Even India is still better than Dubai.
You are right Delhi is not save for women. I was born and raised in Kolkata for 30 yrs, so yes I’m aware.
That's not saying much about India if it's better than Dubai - I have no desire to go to either place
@@elgreco7775 how about you get control of Istanbul a.k.a Constantinople first and then talk
My hometown? Well, it's pretty quiet, nice scenery, occasional encounters with radioactive wild boars and a few traditional restaurants.
Interesting article. I am not sure that Cleveland and London, Ontario should have been included in this list. Has the over all quality of life in these cities have been impacted by the fact of having a high percentage of serial killers?
🤣🤣🤣
Heroes we need!
There is this only one town in Fukushima Prefecture which is not suitable for living. I think people need to research more before making a video about this topic.
I agree. East Fukushima is, partially, lost. But west Fukushima is just fine, and we go there often. It's a beautiful, historical area full of hot springs.

For money
@@stevetreloar6602 yeah, but i would let someone steal on me than being raped.
@Your Mom's Creepy Uncle Have you even been there?
London Ontario shocked me . Canada is usually said to be one of the safest country in the world
I think Brazil 🇧🇷 as a country is great but Rio is just sad. I love São Paulo is a great city and many other cities in Brazil 🇧🇷 are very great.
Mogadishu didn't even get an (dis)honorable mention? or Kabul or Aleppo?
Don’t badmouth my city Mogadishu
Kabul is a NICE city, ever been there?
Probably they arent as bad as these featured in the video.
These are war zones
He warned during he intro that some places were obvious to everyone and wouldn't be mentioned. Port Au Prince comes readily to mind as does Port Moresby. I also wouldn't recommend a late-night stroll in Kingston, Jamaica.
As an Ohioan I am more scared of Chicago and Baltimore than the mistake in the lake ( Cleveland)
As an American i would avoid any big city with exclusive democrat "leadership".
i can tell you’ve never been to chicago lmaoo
This makes me appreciate my little boring patch more. I'll never complain again.
Ecatepec is not a city, its a municipio, which is a delegation from the estate of Mexico, and its also part of Mexico city and you could say its a sort of district
So this is what Johnny Sins is doing these days
Lmao and he loses so much weight
😅
Jeffrey Dahmer was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, not Cleveland.
If I remember right, he was born in Wisconsin then grew up in Ohio and killed in both states.
yes he was born in bath ohio and when he was an adult moved to Milwaukee his first killings were in ohio
He was born in Ohio
That’s what I thought!
@@suzannar7006 Guess You were Wrong!! Do the research!!
If u admit u are being raped is crime.. and you will be put in jail instead the rapist?? That's insane and inhumane.. Dubai policy is disgusting
Cleveland is also a beautiful city with fantastic people. I live near Cleveland and I love it
I agree. Cleveland is a great city to visit
no you need to live in it maybe in collinwood /hough hoods or comparable for a decade or 2 at least -no prozac!
Cleveland and London shouldn’t be there. Every country in Latin America has at least one place far worse than those.
So, radiation kills humans, but makes boars stronger?
Stronger is the wrong way to think of it. It damages portions of their brain responsible for processing threats. So they make more aggressive decisions because they have trouble making risk-reward calculations.
It does a similar thing to their brains that we all go through in our teens regarding which regions have less activity than would be expected.
Radiation makes ghouls more powerful. Ask Todd Howard, he'll tell you....
Don't know why it bothers me, but it does. London, Ontario is not a small town, as you describe. The population is over 400,000.
Born and raised and still live in Cleveland Ohio and damn proud of it

"small unassuming town in Canada" population 500,000. surely not back then but, not a small town.
WHAT A RANDOM LIST...
London, Ontario's serial killings stopped in 1984, but you DON'T WANT to live there, Simon tell us. Shouldn't that be DIDN'T WANT to live there until 1984?
It's still a human trafficking hotspot. London and Sault Ste Marie
@Joshua Cottrell We always end up on these lists for the serial killers, but downtown alone is enough of a reason not to live here!
@Joshua Cottrell You sound like a moron.
Cité Soleil, Haiti "Poorest slum in the poorest country in the western hemisphere" doesn't begin to describe it. Can pretty much combine the worst parts of more than half your list all in this one small place. And the larger Port-au-Prince area isn't really much better.
Sadly there is always something bad about Japan and nuclear radiation.
That’s why Godzilla is kinda their unofficial mascot. He even has citizenship. No for real, he was legit granted citizenship by the Japanese government.
Shout out to the 519. We made the list! But in all seriousness I've lived in London for 41 years and I haven't been murdered even once.
Ayo 30 minutes outside London also never been murdered lol
Do you mean you can comment WHILE being dead?
In Johannesburg living here is fine for middle to upper class people
Even Kinshasa is OK for middle / upper class folks. These things matter in lower middle class and below.
So what you're telling me is they matter for most people?

It's pretty sad when Flint, with all it's major problems that definitely make it a place you wouldn't want to go, isn't on a list like this because there's places that are worse!
