I am descended from a couple that emigrated to the US from Ireland during the "potato famine" many years ago, so I am interested in learning of my roots. I had not heard of a "fairy fort" before and I thank you for the information. This video had me shook because many years ago I had a dream about a man leading me through a forest and from a hiding place he and I looked out onto a clearing, a meadow of sorts. Out in plain view in the meadow were a group of young men gathered in a circle and I dared not make a sound. I was surprised that each of the young men in the group had wings...some were like bird wings, others had butterfly, dragonfly, and moth wings. When the meeting was over, one-by-one they each took off into the air in various directions. So Derek, when you led us through the forest and the view opened up to a meadow, it was exactly like that in my dream! Weird!

I see you're not afraid to go there..I assume if they know and understand your intentions, and you politely asked their permission, then it would be safe. Most fae are very kind and reasonable. But just as with humans, you'll find some to be not so pleasant. Why stir them up?

Very nice well done video! 3 of my Grand Parents were children born to parents who traveled from Ireland to America. My mother bought a house in Co. Tipperary and while waiting for the owner to return from town to negotiate with her observed two, what she thought were 2 children, sneaking looks at her from underneath a huge chestnut tree. Upon the owners return my mom told her about her experience. When the owner heard the description gave my mom a hug and gave her an option to buy the house for less than what was offered! Mrs O'Neil said " my children used to have tea party's with those same two fairies 40 years ago! Greetings from NE Oklahoma.

They’re absolutely real. Many things they want people to think are fake are real, but once people believe and see they will be more likely to discover what humans really are and are capable of as well. And those in power fear that, that’s why they keep people stressed and depressed. They make you work jobs you hate, keep people busy with their phones, and rubber on the bottoms of their feet so the world can’t communicate with us. Same thing with fluoride to calcify your pineal glad. The truth is inside each of us, but we’re so out of tune with self.

My belief is that what we call Faeries in western traditions, are elemental nature spirits. As such they are global phenomena.
They go by different names iin different cultures, and I am pretty sure that native Americans have many stories relating to these types of entity. So... Yes, I believe there are Faeries in America.

I've just subscribed to your channel. Very good first video for me. This video illustrates what's wrong with the world. People have moved away from our old way of living in peace with nature. Instead, focus on technology. We have moved away from the spiritual side of life. We think we are all important and have no need for small things and small creatures. Thus we have moved away from peacefully coexisting with nature. Shame on us. If you can't respect nature and little creatures, how can we respect one another. Hopefully, from videos like this, some of us can open back up that second sight to reacquaint ourselves with mother earth and the little magic folk that live within. Great video! Look forward to many more.

Some people/strangers to the area have often used the field as a shortcut to the local pub. They have often reported being chased across the field by a bull on entry to the pub in a very shaken state. However the locals all know there is no bull in the field. 😮

I’m 60 and left Ireland a long time ago....but where we lived in Bestfield Carlow near the river Barrow, as a child we were told not to go near the boreen fairy fort, nor touch the hawthorn and white thorn trees in Oak Park...our grandparents were not messing with us either. A strange woman who lived there said she’d fallen down a hole into where the fairies were living, she said she had a grand time there and was forever looking for the entrance again. You see she was found in a field after two days missing in the 50’s and was not the same in the head as when she’d gone with her sister to pick blackberries near a boreen. To her she said it was like years and not days she was with them. Everyone I remember thought as my aunt Kitty said that she had always been a bit ‘queer’ since, yet all believed the story as true. There was no television in those days and these stories flew around the kitchen at night between the family and friends around the cooking range......that naive and yes slightly gullible rural island is no more I fear. I recall a lot of stories like this in those days.

Nice. Very lush. So these places apart, places feared--- appear to my eye to harbor relict vegetation associations of great antiquity. The beech-holly-boxwood association was a formerly widespread paleo-forest community documented from mountains along the boot sole of Italy from during the last ice age some also conserved until today, i believe. I wasn't seeing the boxwood in the fairy fort, but beech and holly together are a very powerful pair, with their matching silver bark.

Thank you for being so open-hearted. I believe that's what it takes even more so than an open-mind - to FEEL the fairies! I am grateful for your support, love and respect of the wee folk & the blessed children of Danu ;-)
