Those yellow and black dice need to be removed from the building. All of them, unless used for movement. New case or two of some stylish Chessex dice(such as the Gemini or Scarab line) to freshen things up.
Just a suggestion for editing, to put in breaks in the timeline on RUclips for turn by turn so that its easy to find your place if you cannot watch the whole video at once Intro, turn 1, turn 1 report, turn 2, turn 2 report conclusion/ending ect 👍
Luv the actual, head, and/or table cannon driven battles. All the flavor of units with flair and possible character development and fleshing out. Fun stuff. Great to see Dan again. Wowza those cursed dice need melted down. I want to root for Dan, but, luv the Periphery and had to enjoy the Cat Ladies whooping up on the Capellans and those uppity Anduriens…. As always great content and efforts, thanks Aaron and Dan.
I'm on Dan's opening round and I'm feeling it. Tonight we had an Override session for my campaign group, I left a Blackjack exposed and my players fired at it with seven different mechs. Every shot missed except for an Assassin plinking the right leg for one damage. Bear in mind, BJ-1 in the open, TMM 1. Average shot difficulty was somewhere around 7 and they missed at least a dozen shots. My return fire was equally effective (four shots because I was cooling some mechs) with two snakeeyes in the mix. Then the players, seeing the trap unfolding about them, abandoned their attempt at a consolation kill and retreated off-map. (We'd had some previous rounds of engagement for this mission last session.) End result of the company on company engagement, players lost a Wasp and took a hard thump on a Firestarter, in exchange for putting a Javelin into forced withdrawal and scattered some armor damage on a Phoenix Hawk, and gave a Blackjack a minor little owie.
My first tabletop match was against my father, my Wolfhound rolled nothing but headshots on an alpha strike on his Hunchback while my Awesome missed all but 1 PPC shot for the entire match. Many of these misses were on a stationary Cyclops at the PPC's perfect range bracket.... ended up losing me the match.
Awesome battle report guys! Glad to see Dan back, but man those dice were not wanting to cooperate! I'd feel a lot more sorry for him if he hadn't been playing Capellans though 😂
Tip of the hat to Mr. Dan for being such a gracious loser. That was painful to watch. Still a really cool narrative and board set up. Love that winter game mat. Thanks gentlemen.
Yesssss. Gonna watch the second half of this tomorrow but really want to see the Pack Hunter at some point. Just bring a star of those and watch stuff melt 😂
Oh my. This one did not go as intended for the Celestial Wisdom. Master Po might need to get his plot armor down there to stave off disaster! How embarrassing for the Confederation! And poor Dan! Excellent batrep as always, gentlemen, even if things did not go as they should have! Always great stuff!
Seeing as Bushmaster is already the name for a 25mm chain gun that is the rough equivalent of a UAC-2, I would love to see the Bushmaster have a quintet of AC-2s or UAC-2s and just rain fire at a distance. Also, just found you guys and I'm loving the battle reports so far. Thank you for helping remind me what I love about BT tabletop
Great looking table and tanks! As for the game, I’ll reserve comment for when I see more from you on the game. I like to give games a fair chance. So far first impressions aren’t too great, but maybe playing it with others could change things.
Raven is a good mech, but it exists to support other mechs, not to be a superstar on its own. Consider the current state-of-the-art Raven, the 5L: it has an Angel ECM to disable all sorts of stuff (including Artemis, C3, and Streak locks), 3 one-shot SRM2s (for use with special munitions, such as smoke, incendiary, etc.), TAG (for use with semi-guided LRMs or Arrow IV), and the real showstopper, an iNARC with 3 separate ammo bins. Take a bin of haywire ammo, a bin of homing ammo, and a bin of nemesis ammo, and you're all set. The stealth armor to make it a less-attractive target is just an added bonus. If you want to get real wild, consider the Raven II (RVN-5X). It is faster and has an MML instead of SRMs and iNARC (but you could still use the flexibility of the MML for alternative ammo types). It loses TAG, but keeps the AECM and adds a Bloodhound probe. The killer feature on it, however, is the TSEMP cannon. The ability to lock down your opponent's nastiest mech with one shot so the rest of your team can just pound on it is wild - it can swing a game in a single roll.
Question: which version of Battletech is this? It's not CBT but it's also not Alpha Strike? Or am I missing something? I'm a big fan of CBT but I love how fast this plays
This is a system we blended based on the combat rules provided in MechWarrior: Destiny along with core rules right out of Alpha Strike. It’s called BattleTech: Override. We have a playlist for “how to play” available on our channel page. Check it out 👍
Oh wow, how did I miss that. I also found your website and the Override documents. What an amazing thing you've got here! Kudos to you and I will definitely watch the 'how-to-plays'. Thanks again!
I noticed from your tutorials on Override that you decided all torsos equal center. I think they should add to the arms. If you lose a torso that arm is gone so it makes more sense.
That could work - but this is all based on the conversion rules found in CGL’s MechWarrior: Destiny. We just tweaked the math to make side torsos count a bit more overall in the armor math.
There is some kind of curse on the BattleMaster locally. I've never seen it be anything but a giant disappointment of a turd on legs in our games locally. I am in awe of how well the BattleMaster did in this game
I may have to use it in an upcoming ilclan game I have planned. See if I can start breaking the local curse on it....or is this entire video actually a clever ploy to get me to pick bad mechs in my own local games!! 👀 Dastardly!
I am quite fond of the BLR-1Gb Royal BattleMaster. It has 2 ERPPCs for long range, plus an LPL and 4 medium lasers for close range. It has no ammo so you don't have to worry about ammo explosions. Clan Wolf with their BattleMaster C2 basically took the Royal BattleMaster and made it all Clan tech to make it even better. Plus, I think it just looks cool dual-wielding PPCs like some Old West gunfighter.
Not to be that guy, but in cannon it would make more sense for the Duchy to align with the Magistracy to attack Capellen worlds. Given the Dukes marriage to the Magestrix. But either way a great battle regardless!
It’s both, as long as the weapons in the TICs you are firing all belong to only one arm (eg you can fire TIC1 that has all LA weapons, then TIC2 that has all RA weapons… but cannot fire a TIC that has both LA and RA weapons).
I've actually had really good luck with the Shadow Hawk, even the 2H. However, I acknowledge that my experience is an outlier, though because "everyone" knows the Shadow Hawk sucks it tends to get ignored until after I've got right up on someone and punched or kicked something important off.
Haha yes - but you know, it take a while for communication to make its way around the galaxy, and local governors and commanders are always seeking power and wealth… … plus we’re talking about Capellans here..
In fact they have been allied since 3137. But yeah, the "rogue" attack by Andurien nationalists is an option. Plus, as you said, Capellans are Capellans, they love a good misdirection.
Watching Dan age a full year with every dice roll reminds us all of our mortality.
As the popular Latin phrase goes "Non volvunt alea bene".
Those yellow and black dice need to be removed from the building. All of them, unless used for movement. New case or two of some stylish Chessex dice(such as the Gemini or Scarab line) to freshen things up.
They roll fine for me 😁
Dan is my spirit animal, a player like me - the dice taketh, but he still powers through just for the fun of it. Love it.
Dan is the man!
It's DFA Wargaming Wednesday! Best day of the week! Dan's back! He's safe and alive! Good to see Dan again.
Haha we are all alive and well. You’d probably know if someone died 😂
Great game! Dan has the patience of Job. Love the combined arms tactics and I am becoming a fan of Override. Cheers
Thanks for watching!

Nice!! I do like the games where damage is persistent - makes the decisions much more intense.
My first tabletop match was against my father, my Wolfhound rolled nothing but headshots on an alpha strike on his Hunchback while my Awesome missed all but 1 PPC shot for the entire match. Oh how i enjoy your starting with map overview with some really nice music background!!! Thank you for your videos!!!
Thanks for watching! You can listen to our DFA soundtracks on Amazon, Spotify, iTunes and more. 👍
@@DeathfromAboveWargaming that's exactly what we are doing during our games)) Looking forward to new tracks!
Love it!!!
Aaron rolling a 12, a TAC and another 12 nearly back to back. You were on fire this time! 🔥🔥🔥
It happens! I sacrificed many chickens.
Love some battletech action to make it through the week. Thanks DFA!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome battle report guys!
Glad to see Dan back, but man those dice were not wanting to cooperate! I'd feel a lot more sorry for him if he hadn't been playing Capellans though 😂
Haha next time maybe I’ll play the Capellans and we’ll see what happens. 😂

Dan had some bad breaks for sure!
Perfect timing, about to get on a 17 hour plane trip and have to wait to watch this. Darn you DFA!! Oh the humanity!!!! 😝
Safe travels and enjoy the batrep!
Putting stuff under the matt.. I thought it would look silly but this is actually genius.
Haha spread the word!
Yesssss. Gonna watch the second half of this tomorrow but really want to see the Pack Hunter at some point. Just bring a star of those and watch stuff melt 😂
You know that is one ‘mech I haven’t painted yet - maybe some Clan Wolf Alpha colors?

Excellent batrep as always, gentlemen, even if things did not go as they should have! Always great stuff!
Thanks for watching! The Capellans set up DoA to fail. Those sneak Capellans always up to something.

You are welcome - and thank you for watching!!
Just 30 seconds in and my hats off to you guys for the awesome terrain. Can't wait for the battle report.
Thank you! Enjoy the battle!
This is perfect today... My tabletop partner had a conflict come up so this is a good fill THANK YOU Death from Above Wargaming
Thanks for watching! Enjoy the show!!
I do miss the character names and pre-mission radio chatter, any chance of bringing that back?
Such a beautiful winter/tundra landscape.
Thank you!
Really loving the Override system! Trying to convince some people in my Classic group to try it out.
I can't help but rooting for Dan every time, we share the same dice luck. I can feel the frustration with every roll.
Dan just doesn’t believe.
Those first rolls were BRUTAL lololol!
This is the way. No mercy.

Wednesday is a good day. DFA uploads and battletech night at my flgs
Oh man what a combo! I am a little jelly of BT night at the store!!
YAY finally the left audio is on the left and the right audio is on the right! Nice work boys :) Also love the map layout.

Great stuff per usual!

You have to melt those dice, soak them in holy water and then bury them in an unmarked grave, WOW those are some bad rolls! 😂
LOL “I need an old priest and a young priest”
Rooting for the Anduriens all the way with this one!
Next time on Render Blender: Masterwhacker and Bushmaster.
Someone actually made renders already hahaha
Let the energy fly boys! So much mech killing goodness!
Dan, buddy... What god of probability did you piss off? Sacrifice a chicken or something!
would love weapon loadouts in the Mech intros

LOL if I am being honest most of their variants suck so bad… Dan picked a pretty good one. Some might say the best BattleMaster.
I may have to use it in an upcoming ilclan game I have planned. See if I can start breaking the local curse on it....or is this entire video actually a clever ploy to get me to pick bad mechs in my own local games!! 👀 Dastardly!

The luck swings are painful on this one.

Maybe something like this is in the works 😉
And thanks!!!
@@DeathfromAboveWargaming Thank YOU for the great content and inspirational models!
Ohh if my memory isn't failing me that was some M2 Mercs music kicking in at 1:12:30ish

I felt bad for him too! Happens to the best of us…
Nobody who’s ever piloted a Shadowhawk believes in a Shadowhawk.
Hahaha fair point.
@@DeathfromAboveWargaming Unless they’re piloting a really… really… late conversion. Or Tex’s murder machine from Hired Steel
I use a Shadowhawk 5M regularly. That thing slaps for me.
