As I was digging through the hard drives, I realized that I never shared this gem with you. This was filmed on July 16th, 2019 in Kimberly BC. #followcamfriday chaos with the Kiwi contingent Tom Bradshaw and Nigel Mcdowell, with special guest appearance by Megan Rose, Kimberly resident ripper and race director of TransBC. Although there were many close calls, Nelly the dog was not harmed in the making of this episode. Flash back Friday to when times were warmer and greener. We have Jaxon a border collie.. sheepdog. He's fast as hell and loves to scrub ! Brilliant trails there especially the first one with the steep stuff . Another great vid Nate .
There is no better MTB channel. None of them quite get the dog-riding ratio right like you lol
Bootleg!! Man you guys/gals shredded those trails. The steep, switchback-y part on the first lap is soooo hectic in person.

Bootleg Mtn is so sick! I was shocked at how well built those trails are! Ninja Mexican was my fave, but the jump tracks at the bottom are also so sweet. Hats off to the builders and nice riding as always.

Hi Nate, great video. Do you ride the trail blind putting your faith in the rider in front of you? If so have you ever followed them off the trail to hazardous consequences?
This was our first lap on all of this. Its more fun that way. Sometimes you go into the bushes, but it is all part of the game.

That move at 0:45 and 1:00...I've seen so many riders you follow do that. They sweep the rear tire in the opposite direction of where the turn is coming and I assume it's to get themselves in a better position to make that turn at high speed. Can you explain a little bit more about that technique? What is is called? How do you do it? It looks so bad-ass when it's done.
Scandi flick. You can do your own research to learn more. Practice feels counterintuitive at first. I'm still learning myself.

Proper turn initiation right there. Basically dumps your bike into the next turn.

Do you crop and rotate these by hand in postproduction? The stabilization is fantastic but it also seems to sort of look towards the apex of the corner at some points. A cannot believe a camera would just make video like this for you.

That all depends on the weather. I find that skiing gives my body and mind a break. I really need that balance in my life.

Don't ski on top of your partners in the backcountry. Fun off of the chairlift though.
