- Soo Line GP9s at CP Grand Ave. on the IHB in Franklin Park. Soo caboose with caboose whistle. CP trainS with leased power. Also/MLW engines departing the Bensenville Diesel House for York Road. 1992.
Great catches! That Gulliford lease locomotive is a long way from home rails. First time seeing a caboose with a whistle.
Thanks. II think some of the cabooses Metra used on work trains had whistles, too.
Think pretty much all cabeese had air whistles just really hard to see as the actual whistle is a little bigger than a thumb and the piping and whistle are usually lost in the brake wheel gear and rigging to stand out visually.
Soo never really got into the geep chop nose trend and kept them high short hood as God and EMD intended
This diesel shop doesn’t exist anymore. Now they just got the railcar shop. What do they even do with the locomotives?
The closest CP diesel shop would be in St. Paul, I think. But since the CPKC merger, maybe there is one closer?
29:50 what road is this?
This is the Metra Milwaukee District West Line. at York road. B-17 and the CP Bensenville Diesel House are just east of here.
