  • Making a bicolour Leather Keychain - Keyfob
    Lately i've seen a lot of Paper and Acrylic Templates for offer. You can easily make that sort of things yourself.
    First we take some regular Paper and fold it twice. The Corner at that both folds meet we put in the left bottom.
    I draw a 1cm Line with a spacing of 0.75cm from the bottom. Than i use a regular drawing template and draw two lines with a spacing of roundabout 0.5cm. The second line i stop at the beginning of the first and draw straight down.
    Cut the Paper and transfer your template to thicker Paper or Cardboard. That way you can use it multiple times. Decide yourself if you want it to be one- or double sided.
    After that you can use your Template to draw the shape onto your Leather. Use the cutout to mark the inner Leather and leave yourself some space.
    Cut the Leather with your favourite tools. Than glue the inner Leather in place. I would use some sort of contact cement. After that glue both sides together and sand the edges. Draw your stitching lines and punch the holes. I used a round punch with 1mm holes and 4mm spacing.
    For sewing i used a 0.8mm waxed thread. After that you can burnish the edges. I use tokonole, but there are other products available. You can resand and burnish the edges until you are happy with the results.

    This was a great tutorial! Thank you for providing this! 🙏😎 I have a pretty nice looking “Colorado snake skin” design for the inner part that I’ve been meaning to use.

    Very nice. Thanks for video! May I ask, what type of leather/material is the inner red piece?

      The inner part is ostrich leather. (I hope I spelled that right)

    Do you have to stitch it?

    • @LedermanufakturSievert
      @LedermanufakturSievert  7 месяцев назад +3

      You don't have to stitch it. With heavy duty glue it's not really necessary. You can leave it blank or alternatively you can use rivets.

      @@LedermanufakturSievert thank you for responding! I love the rivet idea. I'm intimidated by the sewing 🫠🙈

      I understand what you mean. But the stitching isn't that complicated. Without a stitching pony it can be a bit annoying. In the end it's just something you have to get used to. If you change it to rivets make sure the border is wide enough. Maybe draw it first to find the right dimensions. If I can help you in any way feel free to let me know.
