  • Join us on our February Camp hosted by Increase Performance. This camp focused on many different movements and drills involving skating and movement. We cover going through the motions of shuffle focus, T-push focus, sliding from our feet and introducing the goalies to new edge work drills to get them out of their comfort zone which works on their athleticism on the ice.
    The Goaltender Fundamentals
🥅 Step-by-step video tutorials: Easy-to-follow instructional videos covering the 12 fundamental skills, such as The Butterfly, T Pushes, Shuffles and more.
📚 Customized practice plans: Step by step practice plans for each skill that any goaltender can print off and take with them to their minor hockey practices or any open ice sessions.
🚨 Private Goalie Community: Connect with a network of fellow goalies, goalie parents and coaches who are sharing experiences, insights, and motivation, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment. You will also receive feedback from myself and our other coaches on the skills we are teaching you.
🎉Bonus Program: Gear Fitting. I put together a step by step program where I walk through every piece of equipment that goalies need to be wearing and show you how all of the gear should be fitting.

when I'm down in my butterfly and pushing while still on my knees, should I be using my whole blade or my toe?

Try to get as much blade as you can on the ice. Depending on the age/kid, sometimes it's really difficult. But try your best to get the full blade on the ice!

He explains it at 4:32 in the video. I, myself, have a hard time pushing with the whole blade as I can't get traction, so I use either the toe or the heel of my skate to dig deeper into the ice.

Depends on your hip mobility but try with the full blade as much as you can
