That makes me sad. I LOVE the chemistry between Bronson Pinchot and Mark Linn-Baker!!
Those two make Perfect Strangers my favorite TGIF show by far!

@@derekb27 exactly, their chemistry was fantastic. The show wouldn’t work without both of them. As a kid I loved Balki, as an adult I love Larry and appreciate how hilarious he is. Each of us on our podcast has a different favorite TGIF show - I like Perfect Strangers, Duff likes Full House, and Scales likes Family Matters. Thanks for watching, check out our full episode on TGIF and forgive the questionable video/audio quality!

Mark Lynn-Baker was great on the show. It was head of this video already, but the chemistry between those two was off the charts.
Larry had a lot of funny lines in the shell that became is catchphrases as well.
The first years it was, “Well…”
Then it became, “Oh my lord!” and, “I have….a plan!”
The space between the last one was usually Balki saying, “Oh God!”

They were phenomenal together, great chemistry like you said, tremendous physical comedians. One of my favorite things Larry does is when he says something suggestive to Balki and they have that “ahhhh? Ahhh??” back and forth and Larry accepts that Balki doesn’t know what he’s referring to or is too innocent

@@throwbackswiththetechnodrome 😄 ahhhh? ahhh? ahhhhh ha ha ha!
I also just remembered when they would talk over each other back-and-forth when discussing something and then look at the person and say, “What was the question ?”

Did you guys not know Louie Anderson passed last year? Also, I think Mark Linn-Baker did a terrific job playing straight man to the colorful character of Balki, as well as reflecting back to Americans many of our less desirable qualities: greed, overcompetitiveness with resulting anxiety, shallowness, selfishness, etc. Balki would not have been interesting for long without Larry to play off. The two were a great team.

Thank you for commenting, I completely agree with everything you said. As a kid watching the show Balki was my favorite but as an adult I’ve grown to appreciate Larry - goofiness is only funny when it’s in contrast to someone more straightlaced. And Larry isn’t even necessarily straightlaced, he’s neurotic and wacky in his own way. This video is a compilation of some clips from our TGIF episode that we posted in either late ‘21 or early ‘22, and Louie sadly passed away not long after we released the episode (as did Bob Saget). Louie Anderson was great and we all like him a lot, we just thought he would have been a poor choice for Larry.
