But all the good will exerted on few customers had soon to be scaled back as the numbers grew, and at some point changing to an inability to serve their customers propperly.
It's a challenge when you are a new operator in the market, and NIO might suffer the same.
That said, NIO is more established at home than Tesla was, and might have more suporting infrastructure in place.

When my ES8 broke down on a long trip in a different city, they send someone from roadside rescue immediately to my location. The technician was on location within 20 minutes, and when it was found that it had to go into the shop, he called in another guy who arrived in a coutesy ES8, left me with it, which allowed me to continue on my journey, and they took care of repairing the vehicle.

German made cars are generally superior in build quality. Remember the problems for MB when they had cars made in other European countries. When we drove Ford Fiesta for five years we always chose German made ST line models for superior quality and reliability. I worked in food manufacturing for over 20 years. German industrial machines and their setup and maintenance was superior to almost anything except Japanese, which was good except for translation issues. The evidence from internet reviews is that the Model Y MIC is superior to US made cars. Remember that the US consumer has very low quality expectations when buying cars because their legacy makers have been so poor and heavily protected from foreign competition. Once the Berlin factory is setup and running it will produce the best Y in my opinion. I drive a Korean EV and would have preferred to buy a German car but their EVs have been very disappointing in terms of efficiency, performance, specification and price. I was waiting to see a Berlin Model Y but the UK price is now revealed, £55k. I’ll not be paying premium price for a Model Y. it’s not a premium car, but I have to blame legacy European manufacturers for failing to present any competition. I guess my second EV will also be Korean.

@@ellistreloar2047 yes, German-made cars are generally of better quality, but there are always quirks with new factories. I have no doubt Berlin Teslas will be the best quality 6-12months after opening the factory. NIO literally does this for all customers. I think that’s why you were hearing from so many in response to your initial comment. In China, NIO service is impeccable, they’re known to deliver assistance to anyone at anytime!

Sorry, but the NIO ES8 has been on the road in China for more than 2 years, why would it still need "fixing"? They still haven't worked out all the design and engineering kinks? Not bullish when sloppy is the way of the Chinese car, even a supposedly flagship one. Plus Nomi and the GUI is also so glitchy.

The continental Europeans are much more advanced linguists than any others, especially US and UK. For English speaking, Dutch, and Scandinavian are amazing. Every teenager in Denmark speaks fluent English, though sometimes with US influence on accent. The Scandinavian education system is exceptional - a benefit of socialist principles. Right wing politicians, especially in the US, are ignorant of the benefits of state organised education in a democratic society.

care to elaborate? what poor quality r u talking about? what if your charge port fails in a VW, Tesla or other EV? let me tell you what will happen. You will be left stranded, and you will call road assistance to pick you up to the nearest approved service on your own $, maybe pay for repairs if warranty is off the table for that thing or you are out of warranty period.

From the reviews, it seems like great quality. A component malfunctioning is not a big deal. 99 +% of the customers would not be on an extended road trip outside of the normal range of service. This issue would not slow down the daily driver at all. The service would come out, resolve the issue and back to normal.
