I don't understand a single word why am I watching this...is there a version with subtitles?
Yes there is, it's standard subtitles (meaning if you purchase the movie the subtitles are set automatically to "on" but if you're watching a bootleg version of the film, they might not be present. Try checking settings. I have the Prime version of this movie and the subtitles are standard and are separately applied from the normal "turn on subtitles" in Settings that you normally see in the movie's controls.

Love the movie. The way I saw the end, Martin fell: He chose alchohol instead of the love of his life. He neglects the phone, and surrendors to the party. Then there are three times in the movie a character fall in the ocean. Only Peter gets a life-jacket thrown at him and survives.
Interesting take David, specially about the metaphor about the lifevest being thrown at him. I personally saw it completely different. He was super happy, but most of all relived at that moment. He was a good man, I think. When his wife missed him, no way he was gonna mess up that second oppertunity with her, having gotten a much wider perspective of what made the relationship not all that it could and should be.
I think he was just acknowledging, this was not the perfect time to call her up or meet her straight away. He would rather spend time with his buddies on the day of his friends funeral. And also his students who love him as a teacher now.
@@alecas89 He was a good man, but good men also become alcoholic. I think it´s great how they managed to portray these characters, we can identify and sympathise with them on their journey. Also how they leave the audience wondering, and maybe disagreeing. Just adds to the quality of the movie. How did you interpret the final dive in the ocean, and how it stops mid air?
Exactly as I also understood the ending - that he wanted to chose the love of his life but alcohol won.

@@veramentegina hahahaha but it doesnt. Its more like swedish and sometimes a little norwegian. Im danish and we genereally speak german too. They`re nothing alike.

Where are you from? Dont listen to Thomas, he clearly doesn't know much about language. To us Danes it doesn't sound a lot like German, and there are many differences in the two languages. So much so that the general population of both countries cannot understand each other. As Thomas said, Norwegian and Swedish are very close to Danish. If a Dane can't understand Norwegian then it's probably because they have never been exposed to it, or because they have stubborn or uncultured. But your point is on point. The Germanic languages are a branch of the Indo-European language family spoken natively by a population of about 500 million people mainly in Europe. The most widely spoken Germanic language is English. All Germanic languages are derived from Proto-Germanic, spoken in Iron Age Scandinavia. So many languages comes from Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden, Norway). So yes. There are many similarities.

Jeg synes slutningen var lang trukken, måske også fordi at jeg skulle pisse usandsynligt meget en time inden filmen.
@@markusikast3132 Utrolig inkompetent kommentar.. Hvad med at komme med dit syn på slutningen, istedet for at råbe sådan op. Debatér filmen og dets emner. Det er lidt det fantastiske film kan, at fremvise forskellige synspunkter og fortolkninger af samme tekst..
Jeg synes slutningen var mega god. Jeg vil også kunne danse som Mads Mikkelsen? Daaaaaaaamn det er sejt!
