There are excuses, and there are reasons. Your health is *never* an excuse, it's an important reason. Taking care of yourself is a necessity, not a frivolity. You're never letting us down.

i started watching you in your mississipi days because my boyfriend (now husband) was in the military and i didnt have many friends and i was always alone. but you were always my company. knowing we wanted to get married, watching you helped me a lot. i suffered in the past from anxiety and i was about to become a military wife. leaving my family behind. im hispanic and family is the world to me. i dont always comment on your videos, but i do tweet you a lot. but just know that without you, kat, i wouldnt have much. i know that sounds dramatic. but everytime you tweet or upload, i feel like my friend texted back. and when you take days off for work or vacation, i just feel like my friend is on vacation and i cant wait for her to tell me how it went. youtube is a weird place because we all have different stories behind the screen, but this is my story and i'm so glad i came across your channel. even my husband wishes he was danny's friend because they are into the literal same things lol. love you so much! and when emilia told me she told you about me (scope days) i felt like so happy to know that you have a friend like her too

It’s obvious you feel bad about “complaining” about work, but don’t. Every one of your subscribers complains about their job. Just because yours is a great one, doesn’t mean that you don’t get sick of it or have issues. Even stay at home moms complain about their job, which is totally justified! You do you. We love you and it’s relatable.

Kathleen please don’t feel like you’re somehow letting your subscribers down by having a bad day or a bad week. Dealing with depression and anxiety is hard enough without feeling like you’re disappointing others. I know it feels like you’re letting us down, but I swear we don’t actually care. And if someone is being snotty about it and leaving mean comments, it’s because they’ve personally never been there. They don’t know what you’re going through. I personally can relate to this so much. I’ve gone through horrible depression in the past and the most important thing to remember is that you’re always much harsher on yourself than anyone else will ever be. Just know that we’re here for you. We’re not judging! We just want you to feel better! Love you Kathleen!!!

  • @KOFrank

Kathleen, please do not feel like we are going to judge you on feeling like this, because we won't/aren't. At least I won't. You can have the happiest, most grateful life ever and still be depressed and have anxiety. Depression and anxiety don't need a reason to appear or make you feel like crap, they just do. Also I totally agree with you on the fact that life keeps moving on and so should you, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to stay in bed a few days and cry and be sad. Being depressed isn't wrong or bad and neither is having anxiety. Now having suicidal thoughts isn't good, and if anyone is reading this comment and having suicidal thoughts or feelings contact someone to help you please. And I am not saying you have any Kathleen, or judging anyone who does. I just want you to know how much we and I love you so so much and you should never feel worried about how we will react or feel to the way you are feeling. You feel what you feel, and that's okay. I will definitely be praying for you and just remember that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. The Lord will give you strength to fight this battle, you just have to trust and believe in Him. I love you so so much Kathleen!

I agree with everything you said 💕 I actually came here to say the same things but I was worried that my English is not good enough to help me explain my idea so I was really happy to see your comment 💕 I know how someone could feel uncomfortable to talk about their emotions because people can very easily misunderstand them and make them feel guilty for their emotions but actually this is not how the brain work 👀 depression and anxiety have nothing to do with having great or horrible lives, it's about specific chemicals and hormones that are being produced into our brains, some people are just blessed to have less production of stress hormones it's nothing that they worked hard to have it's in there genetic sestem! That is why people are so different in their ability to get depressed and their brains are so different in the way they deal with problems and that is totally OK 💕 it just hurts me when I see someone being very hesitant and afraid to talk about emotions because the society is very judgmental 💔 I love you Kathleen and hope you feel better soon 🧡☁️

Depression and anxiety don't take into account what is going fine in life. It will fine the tiniest issue and feed on that and grow! I'm a very positive person, never had any anxiety before. When i had a distance relationship with my boyfriend it was tough and i actually became depressed. But when i finally moved in with him i thought i had everything i wanted and should be happy but i cried every evening, for no reason, and felt even worse because i SHOULD have been happy. It passed after a few months but this period was terrifying and taught me that it is possible to feel crappy for no rational reason. You're not alone sweetie, it is a human feeling. Love you, you are my top favorite youtuber and if you can't film, "who cares?? " Focus on yourself, take care, nothing matters more! ❤

Depression isn't sadness. It's a chemical imbalance in your brain. A symptom can be sadness, but they also include fatigue, apathy, lack of appetite or increase in appetite, forgetfulness, being easily distracted, etc. And anxiety is the same. It's not just feeling anxious, it's a chemical imbalance in your brain. If you broke both of your arms and literally couldn't film, it would be the same thing. You have reputable illnesses. Just because they are mental illnesses doesn't make them any less valid or debilitating. Having a great life doesn't fix the chemicals in your brain. Having a great support system doesn't change the chemicals in your brain. Take care of yourself!!

It’s important to note that fixing anxiety and depression isn’t just about fixing a chemical imbalance. Sometimes we create habits and thought patterns that perpetuate our sadness and anxiety and these need to be tackled as well in order to heal. If we tell ourselves our day is going to be crappy everyday, this affects those balances and makes us feel crappy everyday. In therapy, you work on changing these negative thought patterns which in turn helps with the balances in your brain.

I’m exactly the same, I shut down when I get overwhelmed too, and it’s horrible and so hard to get out of it. I’ve been struggling with anxiety for around 7 years now and it doesn’t get easier. You saying it’s so hard for you to get out of, i feel exactly the same way, and I admire you so much doing everything you do while suffering. So taking a few days off is understandable. I don’t feel strong enough to do anything. I made a RUclips channel because I’m alone and want to talk to people like you do, but I haven’t been able to post because I’ve felt so crap about everything. Little things seem so much bigger than they are, and it’s so upsetting because it stops us from doing every day things... I’m rambling. I just wanna say I admire you so much

Remember Kathleen: We ALL struggle. You are doing fine! Needing time to destress, to withdraw from some of the hardship and horror that goes on in the world, is perfectly normal and healthy. Crying can be very cathartic and helpful. Keep up your peptalks to yourself. Enjoy your family and your pets and your husband. Try coloring! Come back to your channel when you are ready and into it. Ignore the haters. We love you!

I totally understand the anxiety part girl hang in there😘, what’s been helping me is the way I force myself to start thinking whenever I start feeling super anxious and overwhelmed. I know it’s easier said than done, but I always ask myself a question, “can I alter/ change the situation in any way?” If the answer is no. Then it is out my control and everything that will proceed is not my fault bc I did my part. The universe and world will go on regardless of whatever happens, so as long as I physically did my what I could, I need to let go of the idea that I can do more and this is not enough. Things don’t always go
as planned but maybe that’s the point to learn to learn to let go of things that are bigger than us. Knowing that no matter what the result is, the world will continue on and one day we will most likely look back and probably wonder why I was even freaking out in the first place. (Lol idk if that made any sense hope it helps 😇)

I struggle so much with self hate, thinking I'm never gonna be enough to fill the shoes I wear. I'm a sahm of 3 and a wife and while some people wish they had what I have, I constantly struggle with feelings of overwhelm and inadequacy. My mind can be my worst enemy driving me to doubt myself and fear everything. I'm so happy that you're brave enough to open up about these things to the world. I hope you will be able to get out of this rut, and its very helpful to talk about it. I am not disappointed in you Kat, I admire you! You work hard, you are creative and funny. I might be too late for you to ever see this comment, and this is the first time I’ve ever commented on a RUclips video haha, but I really wanted to say this, I had my beautiful baby 4 months ago and I have been going through postpartum depression, it is so hard because everyday I wake up to something so beautiful, and it makes me feel like how can I feel so sad when everything is going go well? But I started watching your videos at night when I would get up with my little girl, and I started playing with makeup while I was struggling with adjusting to everything else on my body looking and feeling different, and for 20 minutes its been so nice to not have to be in my own head. So thank you Kathleen. Thank you very much for doing what you do. I don’t know if I am any better at makeup yet hahaha not for lack of your teaching! But honestly, it has been something for me to pour a lot of my negative energy into and as dramatic as this sounds, it has gotten me through a lot of my hard times. Thank you.

Kathleen, thanks for sharing your story with us and please always know that your mental health should be your number 1 priority. Recently I started suffering from anxiety and panic attacks (which I've never experienced before, so that's been super exhausting and just weird in general) and I found your video about your anxiety that you've filmed years ago. It brought me to tears and helped me sooo much at the same time, just knowing I'm not alone, and that even freaking amazing people like you can have issues like this... I'm seeing my pshychiatrist and doing so much better. And you will feel better as well and you know that :) I've been subscribed to you for I'd say more than 4 years and I've never commented on your video (I just never do haha). But this time I really felt like doing so, hope it brightened your day! Love youuu

Girl, I have Panic Disorder and I hate leaving my house, I'm too scared to learn to drive (I'm 32), I struggle with chronic pain and IBS, and I'm a stay at home mom to a 4 year old with mild cerebral palsy, and I am afraid of literally everything (like actually, everything). I FEEL YOU. The physical and emotional rollercoaster that comes alongside an anxiety disorder is exhausting. We tend to get lost in the valleys. But there are also massive peaks of self discovery and gratitude that I don't believe I would have if I didn't have anxiety. I'm grateful to learn the hard lessons (you know.. after haha) so that I can help my son to be his best, most authentic emotional self. It's always hard. But it's always cyclical. And we are ever improving and ever learning and we persist!! We open our hearts and commit to learn and grow and become more empathetic every time we claw back out of it. And we always do. Even when we can't take another 30 seconds, we ALWAYS do. Listening to you speak about your anxiety so openly reminds me never to stop talking about my own. Always share your heart. Each time we fall, we figure out how to come back a little faster, a little more clearly. Remember curiosity is the opposite of fear. Always balance your fear with genuine wonder, not concern. All my love!!

My mental health has been s h i t since I started college, I started making youtube videos because I had no friends and needed something to do while everyone else was going out.
Totally agree that there's those days where you can be perfectly fine and all of the sudden just crash. Anytime any stressor is introduced that a "normal" person could handle it can completely wreck you for weeks.
It's so nice to see someone that has a seemingly perfect life open up about their mental health. Especially when I'm currently in that place where I'm wondering if I'll ever feel "normal" again.

Hey lady, you need to give yourself permission to feel sad sometimes. With depression and anxiety, there is no palpable reason to be upset, but you are more than valid to feel that way. Just remember that this is not your baseline- your baseline is happy, and you will get back there soon enough. I’ve was diagnosed at age seven, so I’ve spent most of my life trying to understand my depression and anxiety, but the main thing I’ve learned is that it’s okay.. and that takes away a lot of the guilt that perpetuates those negative feelings. You don’t need to know HOW you will get out of your funk, you just need to have faith THAT you will get out of it. We love you mama!

Definitely I am super nostalgic with scents...I played in my sweet grandmother’s makeup when I was young, and she used revlon lipstick. Every time I smell that revlon lipstick smell, I miss her so! ❤️
