Honestly...I am so tired of seeing the new new new....we are not made of money and can’t access all the new makeup with every launch. I personally would love to see you tubers just use what they have to create interesting looks...so what if it is old. Just as long as it is good anyone will want to see how to use it!

I think you should do a vid once a month or twice, using makeup we already have not new releases I think it’s more useful for us viewers who don’t get/buy all new releases. It’s more realistic and relatable in my opinion ☺️
Samantha Ravndahl has started a great series on her channel about using x number of products you have as much as possible for the month and then the next month you switch products and use those for the month. She did Fenty Beauty's Moroccan spice palatte and this last month was ABH prism and subculture.

Totally agree! My favorite videos are always the OG ones. Back then it was just pure fun, makeup tutorials. Now it's 'Check out this new makeup product!' basically EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. We survived with only Mac, Nyx eyeshadows or the 120 palette back in the day and were pretty content with that. Now it's just way too much and overwhelming. Calm your tits makeup companies! We don't need new products every, single day. 😂

I have it & there's so many looks to do! I know it seems without cohesion, but it really can tell a story, especially if you know her backstory on each color. The formula is amazing, lasts forever & is very pigmented! I go light handed only with a few because not all have kickback, some do, but I'm always light anyways. Have fun! Next I want dreamstreet.

Honestly, I dont give a damn about aaall the new stuff coming out. I don't want to buy everything, don't want to see 13 million new eyeshadow palettes and collections and whatsoever...I just want to see tutorials, honesty, creativity. So I don't mind if you post a hundred tutorials with just one palette. I think it's even better, because one palette has so many possibilities to create a look. So, yeah, I would like to see more of the same stuff, rather than the hot new shit.
What if you did a series like “flash back Friday” where some of your Friday videos just focused on old favorites? I’m sure that there are a lot of people out there like me who can’t buy the “latest and greatest” products as soon as they come out. Plus I’m all about that nostalgic life, so I’m always down for a trip down memory lane!! (Also, Dream St. is one of my all time favorites, so I will always love any time you use it in a look!)

I like it when beauty youtubers use "old items" because I dont constantly buy the new thing. Don't get me wrong though I also like seeing new things. I actually like favorites the most because it gives me more information about what's really good, or what works

i'm glad you addressed the pressure that youtubers are feeling because i've noticed it with a bunch of people. there was someone who got a palette 3 days after it launched and felt like they were "too late" - how sad is that? if we think about it, the majority of the youtube audience cannot afford ALL of these launches, so why is there so much pressure to produce and produce and produce? sometimes i just wanna see makeup looks and creative ideas from other people, ya know?

I hope I’m not the only one who feels this way but personally as a viewer I feel overwhelmed when gurus are constantly putting out the hot new makeup. I feel like I can’t keep up with all the new products and what preforms well and doesn’t. I love watching new review videos but at the end of the day i probably won’t purchase most of it 1) bc I cant afford to buy makeup at the rate tht it comes out and is popular than forgotten about and 2) bc I will prob forget about 75% of the reviewed products considering I watch makeup vids almost everyday and just see so many products being talked about. So for me I love videos like this that are just chatting and talking about the products that are tried and true for you!!

I would be happy with generic tutorials as in not focusing on a pallet just the color itself. “A cool toned brown, vibrant blue”. Let’s be honest we all have the colors of the rainbow in our collection we just need to use them.

I completely agree with you. Most beauty channels wanna push a new product on you that the average person cannot afford. A MUA is exactly that - an artist. Playing and mixing shades instead of selecting a particular shade in the palette is the whole point.

I would much prefer videos that are creative and creating looks and focusing on the LOOK itself, and not just constant new product reviews. Totally cool if you use new products in the video and do a recap at the end, but man I miss when it was more about the creativity of the makeup.
I would prefer the looks not makeup. As it just makes to buy makeup. I would like to see maybe even options of eyeshadows for the looks.
I guess every once in a while you can make a ‘Full face on nothing new’ where you use previous launches. Allie Glines does this and I think it’s a genius idea
You should do what Samantha Ravndahl is doing! Project Throwback!! Shes using older eyeshadow palettes (and other products) for a whole month creating looks with them! So she can use what is in her collection and also what us subscribers have!

Honestly I love seeing videos where people are still using old products, it shows they actually like them and use them! Also i think most of us can’t afford to go out and buy all the new makeup that is coming out constantly these days so the chances are a lot of us are still using the same “old” products too! I know I would still love to see Dream St. tutorials and wouldn’t mind at all if it’s old products. When recreating a look i usually try to find similar products anyway rather than getting the exact same ones. I think there are channels out there which purpose is solely reviewing new collections and products, however I think majority of us follows you for your personality and incredible makeup looks and in my opinion using “older” products just gives us more in depth information into how they perform and how to use them and also makes it more relatable 😊💕

You know why I love your videos? Because you do all the old school videos like tutorials, GRWM, favourites etc. I like watching first impression videos too, but man the constant turnover of new products is draining and, quite frankly, disgusting. I think out of all the youtubers I've watched, you are probably the person most comfortable and translatable (if that makes sense) in front of the camera. Watching your videos is like hanging out with a friend, and I never get the impression that you're trying to shove products down my throat. In summary: do you, we'll all show up for whatever you want to put out.

***Hey Kathleen, those of us who can't buy makeup appreciate a "shop your stash" approach to videos. It's a bummer to constantly be seeing all these beautiful products that you can never get. For me, I appreciate seeing you use the things you love more. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE makeup and seeing what's new. But I'm sure you remember the time when you didn't have the ability to get all this awesome stuff. I was hit by an uninsured driver and have lost everything. I'm disabled now, I can no longer work, had to move in with my parents, even had to give away my dog! I can't afford necessities let alone makeup, so I love seeing "shop your stash" or videos where you use things you've been loving for years. It's a nice change and it's appreciated.***
I totally agree! On my channel I just have to work with the products I have because I am a stay at home mom and babysit kids at my house and I just make videos because I love makeup, but I can’t afford to buy all of the new releases so I’m constantly trying to come up with ideas for products I own, or I’m giving reviews on drugstore makeup lol. Everyone should not feel like they need all of the new things, because you can create beautiful looks with products that you already own! I’m not saying I don’t like to see new releases, but that’s not what it’s all about.

I definitely love the "old school" videos! Hauls and favourites are my favourite videos to watch! And while I love learning about new products, please don't feel like you can't talk about older ones too! I'd love to hear about products that you've used and loved for year because those are the ones that are probably worth the money.
Just fyi, use what you love and please feel free to go back to old favorites. I went searching for a new eyeshadow palette that has a variety of colors and tbh, every new palette are all the same....PINK, PURPLES, NEUTRALS. Honestly for me, i like a mix of videos on some new super exciting releases, but i also love just traditional tutorials or get ready with me’s using old palettes. I’m getting overwhelmed with ALL the releases lately, I’d like to just focus on the most exciting or unique, and leave the rest. I think it’d be cool for more youtubers to continue Samantha Ravandahl’s trend of using a palette for a month and making multiple videos out of it, its refreshing to see! It does get overwhelming seeing new launches every day because people will full-time jobs that have bills to pay and mouths to feed simply can't afford purchasing new products at the rate they're being thrown at us. Since youtubers receive all this stuff in PR, it's easier for them to say "omg love this! love that! you guys need this!" because I don't think they realize how much all of this stuff costs anymore. It does get frustrating when you finally saved up for a foundation or an eyeshadow palette that your fave youtuber raved about, and then next week they're like "omg this one is even BETTER than the other one!!!! you need THIS one!" so I think as consumers we just have to be smart by taking all this with a grain of salt and decide what actually suits our needs. I don't think the fault is on said youtuber, as you said there's a lot of pressure to keep up with new releases and you guys are just doing your jobs. But I definitely love the idea of using "older" stuff :)

Girl! I literally was driving down the road the other day with my daughters (9 & 5) when I stopped at a red light and saw a girl that was a little heavier but speed walking down the street. I rolled down my window and told her "GET IT GIRL". She looked at me and smiled. I then told my girls who were giggling that in order to create a better world they need to be "girls" girls and congratulate other girls and women. Empower them to be better. Samantha Ravandal started a series on her channel where she uses the same palette all month. You should join the band wagon and start a series. Once a week use a palette sitting in your collection to use! That way you get the balance of old and new ☺

Staying with a pallet for a time. Sometimes we do the same look because lots don't know what are good color combos. Then you have this expensive pallet where you hit pan on three colors and everything looks untouched

My opinion is not going to apply to everyone, but I feel like I am so constantly overwhelmed by new launches. There used to be a time where there was a lull in the release of products, but now I can't scroll through instagram without seeing like five new launches a day. I miss old RUclips! I am getting a bit sick of all the high end products. Tis' the Season for all the new holiday launches I cannot afford, and will not be able to, and I feel like it gives me stress. I have 100pts until I reach VIB status at Sephora, but it seems to come down to that every year, at this exact time, and I can never justify spending $100 in one visit because I am a college student and I need to live. My point is that I feel like launches, collaborations, everything is constantly being shoved down my throat and I just want to believe that everyone is being honest when they tell you what you should buy, but they aren't and I want RUclipsrs I trust to put out content that they believe in. Please use some older products because I would genuinely enjoy a break from all the new.

Girl I love when RUclipsrs use makeup they haven’t touched in awhile I love watching Allie Gines because of that, she has a series out where she revisits makeup that she loves but hasn’t touched in awhile because “being a RUclipsr you always have to use the newest thing or review the newest launch” I would definitely love seeing more videos like that especially from you!!!! 😁
An idea is to do something similar as Samantha Ravendahl where she uses the same palette for the entire month and creates different looks with it. You could do something like that. I really enjoy watching those. I think your audience would enjoy it too. I agree we get stuck to much on the new new stuff and forget using what we just got.

The reality is that most of us can't afford to buy this or that new palette all the time. Seeing new things is fun, but I think a lot of people benefit when youtubers show new ways to use products they (or we) already have.
And also it takes me awhile to use up all my makeup so constantly buying new to me at least is wasteful.

I luv that “foundation!” Its actually the same formula as the mac studio waterweight foundation. The mac one is slightly cheaper and a better color range.

Yes, I love tutorials and GRWM using older makeup ideas. I can’t afford to continually buy every new release, so I love seeing new reviews on older releases

Kathleen i love a mix of using old and new products. I love seeing whats new on the market but i also love seeing tutorials with older products. Honestly the average person doesnt buy new makeup all the time so it is useful to see tutorials using products that we have that may be a bit older and not the trend.

I like seeing "old" makeup looks cause like another comment said I don't have the funds to get all the new new stuff. I still use last year's stuff
I am on a no buy since january 1st this year, and will keep going. (hard but best decision ever!) And looking for example at ABH sultry and soft glam and comparing them to all my makeup geek singles and some UD and chocolate bar, and like 6 colour pop palettes I own, there aren't new colours in it that I don't already have. I can recreate them with my current shadows. I haven't hit pan on any shadow I own so it wasn't justified to keep buying the new releases, no matter how much I want them. Keep doing old school, I'm here for some chocolate bar looks, or from your morphe collab for example.

L Hiddles ask yourself “do I really need this?”, “what do I have that’s similar to this that’s already in my collection?” I know it’s hard but if you push through and ask yourself, you’ll be able to put it down and walk away.
