What is the most interesting thing you ever flushed out of a hyd.? I had various tools, a tennis ball, pipe rubbers and a sneaker. Flushed one once was full of gravel. Dead end main that had never been flushed since it was installed. 2 buckets full of rocks.
@ haven’t had much of that problem here with them, now the old M&H 129’s and 929’s those are the ones we fight the main valves the most here. I like the east Jordans as well
@@Pippy626 some do some don’t , most are plugged internally to help prevent cross contamination, and where we are in most locations we have a lot of ground water , and it will fill the hydrant up and freeze in the winter

Till you need the hydraulic impact to get the foot valves out, we do not like them where I work, traverse city or east Jordan

Question why do you pump out the hydrants don’t they have weep holes at the bottom to auto drain.

All the hydrants around here look like the AVK
We have a few, we have mostly McAvity 😁🍻
huh i did not know that hydrant water had to be the purest cleanest water outhere.
It’s on the same line as the drinking water , so yes it has to be clean 😁🍻👍🏼
Oh this video is so familiar 25 yrs Portland Oregon Water Bureau maintenance and construction. 😊
