I'm also lowkey looking forwards to the Cisalpina entry of the 80s super car "war" that happened. Will it be a turbocharged monster? Or will it be something "modest"? Either way, I am curious
@@the.bavarian I did like the early concept, but it looked much more like an early 70s car than the late 70s car you eventually turned it into. I think the end result is definitely much more era appropriate.
I was skeptical during the stream that you would end up with anything convincingly late-'70s with that body, but I'm impressed by the end result. It's really hard not to make it look like a Porsche when Porsche was one of few to hold onto the flowing, smooth bodies from the 60s instead of embracing the crisp edges and angular forms everyone else adopted (especially in Italy). But I think this is distinct enough to be its own thing. And as a successor to the Montone, I buy it. Targa version looks great, too! I think around 1978 was when the 911 started to become stale, for some. It benefitted from its reputation, but struggled to present itself as something modern and competitive. I look forward to seeing how you keep the Freccia new and interesting. Some exciting special versions might go a long way.
It was bugging me but I just realized why this car looked so familiar: I think the front of the Freccia may have partly inspired the design of the Geo Metro. 😭 And yet it somehow doesn't look out of place at all.
26:43 how Porsche does their handling is actually pretty interesting, because the front tyres are usually not that massively narrower (usually it's 50-60mm difference between front and rear, in some cases even 20mm), and their ride actually utilizes flat ride (rear stiffer than front, iirc 996 Carrera 2 had 1.7hz front and 1.8hz rear), which is optimal for oversteer. But they achieve balanced handling through reeeeeally soft rear sway bars compared to the front, much higher rear camber (might differ on GT3RS), and a good use of toe-in on both axles
They also have a very special rear axle design which we don't have in Automation, so some more differences are expected. From the driving perspective in Beam, the Freccia definitely could use a bit wider front tires than I tuned it for in Automation.
excellent design - you mention rally, but bear in mind as well that in the late 70s and early 80s, many of the group 4 -> group b cars were not just rally monsters, but also circuit racers that contested the largest endurance races of the era! lorenzo should send a production car to le mans, in addition to the group 5, or at least sell a handful of versions with suspension suitable for a race track so privateers can enter. :)
This car reminds me of a mix and match set of cars I swear I've seen before or know about. That rear end look is something I have definitely seen on a car before, but can't quite place it....off the top of my head, perhaps something like a late 50's or 60's era Saab. The front end I thought reminded me of the Rover SD-1, but it didn't have recessed lights. A lot of cars in this era didn't, pop ups or "hideaways" were the trend back then.
Man, I'm really starting to miss the old brass VIN/chassis plates you used to put in the interiors of the older Cisalpina models. I know its kind of "dated" at this point with you nearing the 80s, but that doesnt mean they cant be tucked away in say, the trunk or engine bay for old time's/classic tradition's sake. 🥺
It would be interesting to turbo and make the first high production turbo car for Cisalpina. Or put a V6 maybe even a flat 6 on it as a test to see how it handles.
And also, i know that it can be no problem to leave yellow mark problem there. I just want you to make the car more predictable in beamng. But keep it up anyway
This might be out of order to ask, but is there any way to know which mod packs you use ? I would be very curious to try some of them out Love the series btw !! I can't wait for the next episodes
Oh God, I designed one side in the live stream, didn't mirror it, and designed the other half during my re-work session, and didn't mirror it :D Good catch, it will be corrected in the first facelift!
I watched it turn 5 hours old and also the second I started a new campaign and got the notification of the video. I’m pretty lost at how the storyline goes, any tips on the marketing part of it because the tutorial made no help. Especially, how on earth do I make custom headlights? They always glitch out when I use cutouts
Since you're talking about emissions in this car, and are using a carb with a catalytic converter, I recently saw a youtuber who described how early cars with carbs and cats the cats barely helped with the emissions since the carbs couldn't deliver a consistent enough fuel input and couldn't vary it to match RPM as well as injection and the two of these meant that there was too much unburnt fuel going into the cat for it to function properly. I might be misremembering but I think that was what he said. Any idea if this is true? Since you have automotive qualifications.
I really want to like this game. I know killrob pretty well, and this game interest me a lot. But....not enough GAME in the game, and it is far too complex.
I agree it is more a car company simulator than an easily accessible game. I really like the depth of it though. The "game" aspects of the campaign will hopefully still get some more love.
@@the.bavarian - I did manage to build several cars, and even some factories, and turning a small profit. It took an immense amount of effort...and I have an advanced Meteorology degree.

At least I didn't know the Geo Metro at all, so no way I travelled back in time and use it as an inspiration for the Freccia :)

Finally a car that doesn't try to kill its driver.
The new design grew on me throughout the course of the episode. Glad to see more Cisalpina content! Great video.
one of your best design IMO. it's really believable
Oooooooh looks so much better than the livestream. You never fail man
I don't know if it's me, but the recording seemed smoother. Thanks for another great episode and great work going with your instincts on the rework!
He changed the Design :O
Lorenzo is such a genius that the one car he made that DOESN’T handle like it’s drunk has the engine in the wrong place! WOW
Amazing little car!
I see a 200+ hp 4-wheel drive Rally version in its future that could go toe-to-toe with the legendary 205 rear-engine version 😅
No more Cisalpina Ranocchia.
Tho It looks kinda cute, it's like a Fiat 500 mixed with the X1/9 and the 850 Spider. It's adorable! Great job Martin!
Nice future rally car indeed! Looking forward to 80's design and Group B program!

Partial Monocoque is for cars that can't decide if they're vans or wagons.
The manufacturing of that curved glass in the Targa would obliterate a small company.
Didn’t obliterate Porsche in the 60s
I would love to see a Group B version of this almost like a 911 safari
A Porsche, a Citroën CX, and a Fiat 750 had a child
