I recall reading some help for Excel that suggested phone numbers should be stored as strings, because some of them have leading zeros or plus signs.

I started out with Java also. But when I had a taste of C#, I never looked back. It’s almost exactly the same as Java but it just fixes a lot of small issues I had with the language and it has a lot of cool tools, frameworks, apis and the like
