I’m in between, this thing is cool with a good system of articulation, but why the hell it so dERn CLeAn, this thing looks fresh out of the factory with no dirt or scratches anywhere. Also where did all the red go, did it decide to live with blue!?
In the movie, Mechagodzilla’s big fight at the end was the first time it was ever outside of its hangar. I don’t think it ever had time to get particularly dirty. Imo my biggest problem with this design is the lack of color variation. Kiryu had black, blue and red accents and it broke up the design much better
Such a shame it didn’t come with the tail drill and Proton Scream. 😔 Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to wait for the *Mechagodzilla (2021) Climactic Hong Kong Final Battle Version!*
I'm always gonna be convinced Diecast should be used minimally for great effect, mainly so as to prevent breakage, like if those pistons in the hips were all diecast and a small amount here and there were, like all the ball joints in the tail maybe but that is just me. Looks fantastic overall
Yeah I've been thinking about that too not just mechagodzilla but every figure. Like why not make the central skeleton with all the ball joints and pegs in metal, like aluminum would be good, light too. It would really solve the breakage issues at problematic areas like hips and shoulders.
@@xoruk7451all the ball joints and pegs in metal would just swap for a new set of problems. Higher prices, loose joints, and pose ability issues. When price point is a major concern companies focus on minimizing short comings not solving them.
In terms of articulation and accessories, Mechagodzilla is absolutely fantastic with all the details, mechanical realistic sculpts and the ability to recreate scenes from GVK. AWESOME!!!
I think it’s funny, I love this figure and have it on preorder, but they added all these hidden rocket details but I feel like they could have made the tail drill thing fold out or at least included a separate piece for it, still overall an awesome figure!
I feel like this thing is worth it just from the fact that this is the most accurate retail figure version that you can purchase. The playmates one isn’t as detailed and there aren’t that many other version of this character out there in figure form.
@@indoraptorrwakaara2914 No 😢 EE says May, BBTS just going by the month, so I’m expecting May at this point. I got like 11 items on back order dating back to last year it’s outrageous
articulation for price point has turned me away from a lot monsterarts, bandai figures in general. I have some die cast figures that are 12 inches and have more articulation than this mecha-godzilla. Given, the figures are third-party companies, but if smaller, third party companies can provide a large figure with extensive articulation, it becomes difficult justifying a 6 inch figure for around the same cost, with limited articulation. I do like this version of mecha-godzilla, one of my favorites, but I cancelled my pre-order awhile back because I didn't think it was worth the price after looking at the articulation. Kong's articulation is pretty good, Godzilla's was alright, but for $60 I couldn't complain. Mecha-godzilla, at more than double just because it is die-cast from Bandai, just didn't seem worth it. Die-cast becomes hardly noticeable after awhile, so at $150, it doesn't really seem worth it to me just for die-cast. It would be cool if some third-party does an articulated mecha-godzilla in the modern style, but is probably unlikely, at least for quite awhile.
Ngl I really want to make(or at the very least help design) some 3rd party goji figures because I often can't afford them on release( much less the aftermarket hell)
Just got mine & I absolutely love him! It doesn't bother me that he doesn't come with a proton scream cause, well, I just use the red beam that came with the Toho Super Weapons Effects set.
thank you for the suggestion for popping the pistons out because iv'e been kind of worried about them being broken or breaking them and not being able to pose him in certain poses but now with your suggestion i need not worry thank you!
Thanks for the review as always. At LEAST they had the courtesy to mention those bloody pistons can be removed which is refreshing from Bandai TN. Lack of red aside, pound for pound this is the best looking MV figure in the line. The most 1:1 compared to the likes of the Ghidorah and company. And with how things are, this will get a SCV a few years down the road. It's ripe for the formula. It won't be much longer til mine arrives (it's in country at the time of typing this) so fingers crossed it's intact. Keep up the good work and glad the fundraiser reached it's goal.
I ordered mine from Sideshow. He came with two of the hip piston ball joints broken off. So they sent me a replacement and when I got that one, he had one broken hip piston ball joint. I have a third replacement on the way from them but if it arrives broken, I might just forget about this figure and wait and pray for an upgraded special color version. One that hopefully has sturdier and more flexible pistons, and a beam affect, though I’m not holding my breath on the latter.
4:24 that isn’t a turbine but an industrial grinder for inflicting devastating bites also on his hands are saw blades which are easiest to see when MechaGodzilla is about to attempt the Kiss of Death on Goji
In my opinion that paint makes it look like it be one of those low budget toys you see at stores. It makes it look plain if they add a bit more red then it would look good. And more accessories because of the price. other than that it still seems like a good figure.
I hope they do a special color version of this figure and with the atomic breath piece in the futur similar to the 2019 king ghidorah figure. It was bland and fell apart but then Sh monsterarts made a special color version of the figure with sturdier and won’t fall off pieces to it so yeah I hope they do this with some darkish spots to resemble that he was in a battle and was hit with the battle axe and shot with atomic breath

How have you got your figures so early? I preordered an S.H.MonsterArts Ultima in early December and it hasn’t come UPDATE 24th March: It’s not a preorder anymore and it’s coming soon yay
I feel they could have fixed the piston issue (at the potential cost of lost posablity) by also making them di cast (not sure about the ball jointed parts they plug into)
MechaGodzilla is a great figure ☺️ but unfortunately the MechaGodzilla's plates do not have much red paint ☹️. Because of that, it does make this figure is blank ☹️.
