Did I just hear from the interviewer at 1:01:10 "3 hundred 4 hundred likes (on Instagram) that´s almost my new standard, if I get less than that I get depressed"? Seriously? I´m sorry for you man...also for Arnold who had to hear that shit..what an interview..
the first time l have ever commented on any video ever I was so moved by your interview with D.arnold because it helped me understand why I'm becoming more passionate about photography thank you EK
I find photography has taken me on much of the same path in life less materialised more spiritual and self conscious. Less stress is always a good thing and in a happier place due to photography. Nice to relate to someone.
Great interview! Listening to Daniel's viewpoints on his position in life was like holding a mirror in front of me, for we seem to have the same position. Photography helps keep me grounded and balanced to a degree, though there are other factors that come into play as well. So, I can relate in so many ways to what he said. I was glad to see someone with basically the same views. I'm glad I stumbled upon this interview.
Wow, this guy is great. After watching interviews with some other street photographers, I was starting to think that maybe it might not be something worth pursuing for myself. But him I can really relate to.
Great interview, gives a nice idea of the problems of the social-media-addicted-world we are coping with today. I think the process of analogue photography helps us to stay connected with the real (physical) world we are living in. And that world is such a wonderful place to be. Very nice photographs too. Keep up the good work both!

The first time I indulged this interview was over your podcast one night on the drive home and his answers were just so real. I decided to watch some of this interview here and his face expressions when he responds to your answers are so much more raw. Awesome Guy! I quickly went to check him out on IG.
also very interesting to hear him talk. the vantage point of the photos is so true. that makes all the photos as a child around the age of 11 would look at and wonder about the world. Hopefully that makes those people who think that you are taking advantage of the subject or a situation you are viewing through a POV of a young child and also makes the photographs much funnier and a more pure view of the word, not censored in a way, of what is appropriate to look and and what is not. I am a admirer of Daniel Arnold work and would love to buy some of his stuff. Its all about repetition, habit, just do it everyday.Great interview Eric!!The interview seemed very natural and like one steady interaction between you two. 8 thumbs up. Im an octopus btw.
I love Daniels’s photography, but not his methods. I would rather ask than using his method because in this day an age the likely hood of you running into the wrong person and getting hurt is very high, but his work is great as well as his shooting from the hip. Film forces you to think about what you are doing and your composition and you are as excited as a school kid waiting for the film to come back. I also think you are even more excited with the results because you can’t chimp. I still own a film camera. Great interview Eric.
Good work on your side Eric, as always. not quite sure how you managed to wade through "Daniels" errr... uuuumm.... errrr... it's like walking through toffee... and left me quite tired... (plus that crackling mic is annoying too). pics are mediocre at best. (my 2p)
his work is nothing new..its been done so much and much better. But for the new hipsters this is something new..and the shit I guess. The comments astound me in how people can't see further than what is put in front of them.
Stones Jones To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick’s existential catchphrase “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎
9:30 horrible awkward moment dude, how could you not tell he’s not that kind of guy 😂
Really great interview. This guy has a lot to say, and not only with his camera. He is a very respectable human.
Agreed
Been re-watching this, from time to time. Great interview! Congrats, to Eric and Daniel!
Daniel from a Buddhism from where i am from in this position ...you are doing the good things....keep your inner peace and love.

Best interview of Daniel Arnold I can find. What a cool dude.

Interviewer weirdly tries to put himself on the same level as Daniel constantly. Other than that, loved to hear Daniels thoughts on things.
Alex Constas The interviewer too is an experienced street photographer and undoubtably shares many traits with Daniel.
jakeyboi hahahahahahahaha ..clearly...
Alex Constas hahahahahahahahahaha i know right?
@@muggyboi not

It'd be pretty interesting to see an updated interview with him and hear how some of this views have changed/grown after seeing more success.
I like this guys approach to life. More people can learn a lot by taking a step outside the box. Great interview.
a shame its only 93 minutes, its truly brilliant, so inspiring
Wow, this guy is great. After watching interviews with some other street photographers, I was starting to think that maybe it might not be something worth pursuing for myself. But him I can really relate to.

but posts it on social media euhmmmm
I wasn't aware of Daniel's work, but i really enjoyed this interview.
If this is the only interview with Daniel allowed on the Internet, that would be great
This was such a privilege to watch Eric. Thank you so much for this insight into Daniel's philosophy and personality.
Good interview.
Not sure why Eric stopped following people on instagram.
Very strange.

+Jeff M Cheers Jeff

I knew about this interview from a comment on his instagram. Great work and even a greater man
Daniel Arnold = Pure Artist
His pictures speak clearly, they are magnificent
Great interview, from a fellow Greenpointer!
Stopped watching after 36 mins. Some of these questions were really stupid, i simply couldnt get past Eric Kims cringeworthy questions and behaviour.
Citizen Kane I agree. He adores this man too much to be a good interviewer, if that makes sense
Driving cross-state listening to these again.
Much love! Brilliant interview, Eric
Yet another great interview Eric!!

yuri rasin For sure
Lomography Color Negative is my fave.
Third time i watch this, best interview on youtube
I remember the champagne G2 being a real 'dads with disposable income' camera.
You know the dads who bought boats but never could afford the upkeep.
Great interview Eric, love Daniel's style and the way he talks about philosphy on photography.
Very interesting and informative.
Very thoughtful interview.
Open Raw and honest. thanks guys.
Love this ...keep going
i wonder what Daniel did before photography, job wise? the 9-5 he is talking about?
Awesome interview man really felt motivated after watching this. 👌🏽
2008... 7 years ago? did not notice I was watching an old video... still cool video though
"Daniel, don't worry, there is nothing to worry about" - that works for me, thanks
Thanks for this video bro ❤
Great interview Eric!
Favorite part "hi mom. Hi cool, cool mom."
Michael Gutzmer :D
Eric just seems obsessed with instagram faves and followers
At 29:40... That's not a sickness. That's called enlightenment.

Dan, you are the man, Dan. Dan the Man.
Daniel.
Really interesting, thanks. Maybe less leading questions.
rly good photographer
CAN YOU PUT SUBTITLES PLSSSSSSS???
"Without Social Media I would live a little more." Amen!!
Can you attivate automatic captions?
How did you meet? Or did I miss that part?
3 to 5 roll a day? must be expensive even back in the days lol
interviewer is so bad. No one wants to ear your strictly personal opinions for minutes in this video. You’re not the topic of the interview.

In Europe and Germany it is not allowed to take pictures of people without their agreement.

Didn’t like this one. Takes up so much time asking Daniel just how to pronounce books in his house lmao.
Yaawwwwwn! so boring Daniel Arnold! who refuses to be called Dan has just put me to sleep!
Well his work is totally opposite of "yawn".
his work is nothing new..its been done so much and much better. But for the new hipsters this is something new..and the shit I guess. The comments astound me in how people can't see further than what is put in front of them.
