My 2008 switch is in the center console not on the door

The switch clips out. You don't have to take of the whole door.

It's true. That whole window/mirror control panel pops out using a trim tool. Took me about 5 mins to replace the switch. At the 5:16 mark in this video, you can see the location of the clips on the control panel.
