I don’t hear her straining it to the point of dangerous. I can hit this note as well and she sounded AWESOME. As long as she isn’t straining her voice all the time and taking care of her vocal cords I’m sure she’ll be fine. It looks like she trains with a coach so I trust they know how to care for her throat and vocals after a hard vocal workout. Your vocal cords are a muscle that needs to be stretched, then rest and care, then stretch again until you reach your final destination. She sounded great and she’s on her way to a very successful career.

If she trained enough she may hit it though ig. 3. If she keeps scraping her vocal chords like that and forcing a rasp in every line she is going to seriously damage her voice. Did not sound healthy. However Lisa Cimorelli hit it beautifully in the cover and the livestream. Sounded very healthy and easy. The most impressive one so far. The song is more than just the high note though. I see it more as Kesha getting herself closure for all the horrible things she had to face by pouring her heart out. The build is beautiful and she gives it the raw emotion it holds which is why the song will always be best for her. However it may be nice to see Mariah, Ariana, Christina or Camilla attempt it someday.

#3 the slide going up to the highest note was very wrong. She made up a note going up that sounded very lazy. The pitch in all was very lazy. You can tell she didn’t practice so much working her way up to the high notes.

You're just hurting your voice :( Don't try and belt it. Start with singing the D6 very lightly (cause you were in a different key than the original) and work your way to making it louder. High notes don't need to be forced, they just need space! Your voice will THANK you. 3. Pretty good! I can kind of tell you're using your throat and chest a lot... which isn't the healthiest way to sing. You might end up getting nodes. I know you want to belt, but try to find your mix voice :) Also, try and work on stopping the major sliding to the F6. 4. Absolutely fantastic! Your singing was very safe and I could tell you were using your mix! I could see you were singing forward a bit (which is needed for this song). 5. You are also utilizing your mix! Very well done, but I think you may have gone a bit sharp on the F6. And I mean, BARLEY sharp, but you fixed it rather quickly.
Um actually, as a classically trained singer, you’re supposed to use your diaphragm more than your chest. It allows notes to be clearer and it allows them to be held out for longer without sounding pitchy.
Maddy Mensour you CAN whistle an F6, it’s all about which technique you use to hit that note. I think some of these girls used HEAD VOICE instead of whistle, and that’s alright (sounds just as great). But falsetto sounds extremely different from those, and while it is technically possible to hit a high f with falsetto, none of the features ladies used it.
