    You blokes do a great job with your litre bike shootouts , its sad though that some people cant accept that the bike they favour didnt come first. Get with the program gentlemen every bike is a competitor now and they keep getting better. Looking forward to next years test with the zx10 and gsxr 👍keep up the good work

    Most of these bikes won't ever see a track. The suspension can be changed. This S1000RR is a monster in the straight line though.

      archinuk417 not sure what you're talking about. It's built for the track. Perhaps the first owner doesn't use it for the track, but in 10,000 miles I bet over 50% of the chassis see track time.

      viasevenvai I think the stats are that only 5% of owners actually track their bike.

      viasevenvai 50%? Yeah right - not even close.

    Why isn't it having a steering dampner ??

    • @pahwasaki9389
      @pahwasaki9389 9 лет назад

      ***** is it not like the conventional dampers...I mean those which are like a straight bar across the handle bar...coz I couldn't see it !!

    BWM makes one of the best supersport bikes, love to pick one up. But yamaha is also a great bike, specially the 125cc where I am riding on. Easy to learn wheelies, knee down and racing all around

      +viasevenvai alot of bikes 'rip' these days. Maybe I will start saying 'fast' instead :p

    Ok Adam we get it you don't like ddc. It works awesome on the streets where most people ride 99% of the time though. No one I know will ever track a 20K+ Bike.

    The reason the S1000rr is faster than the new R1 is because when the R1 comes to America they restricte the R1 by lowering the hp down from 190hp to 167hp 👎

    • @syk9855
      @syk9855 8 лет назад +2

      wtf? the R1 in the states do not haveonly 167hp

  • @bobanppvc

    This test is bullshit,S1000RR own R1 on track and its better on street.Guys look motorrad or motorcycle.com test if you want serious journalism and realistic lap times

      +Montenegro Montenegrin Not really. Have you ridden both? I have, in fact I own the R1 and my friend has the S1000RR. We both came to the same conclusion - R1 is superior on track, but the S1000RR is a better bike on the road. Oh snap!

      The new R1 is a terrible street bike. The position is extremely stiff and uncomfortable but it's position is perfect for the track

    Sooo much power! Like Chris Siglin said, it's definitely a bike that wants an aggressive rider. Me though? I am looking for a dancing partner, not a wrestling match :) facebook.com/jrodracing ig: @jrod_racing

    I see no point in any of these bikes for actual street use.

      Motorcycle Extremist Its the same worse for supercars because they get stuck in traffic. Its the desire for a high performance machine. We already know we can't use the performance on the road but thats not the point. Relatively few people go on the track out of the entire population of supercar and superbike owners.

      Motorcycle Extremist Just picked up a '15 R1, myself. Behaves just as fine at 35mph, as it does flat out. It's the same as buying a Hennessey Venom GT, for road use. You'll drive it around, relatively close to posted speed limits, 99% of the time, but it's nice knowing what it can really do! Besides, if they ever do outlaw 1000cc class bikes, what's next? 600's, because they'll then be the fastest? Then 300's? Who really needs more than 125cc to get around town?

      Talking about "outlawing" a vehicle is crossing into a whole other discussion; one of tyranny at that point. I'm all for a free and open marketplace for all. People must be allowed to buy and do what they want. As for my comment, I'm just speaking from a general usability stand point, I understand buying something like this as a toy for occasional straight-line blasts, canyon carving, and track use. But of course it wouldn't be a very good choice for actual day to day all around usage.

      Motorcycle Extremist Misunderstood your comment. Sorry about that. I did wonder, why someone with your screen name, would've said something like that, if they meant it the way that I read. :) I definitely agree with what you've said here. The new R1 will cook you in traffic, has a rock hard seat, and gulps gas, unless you like short shifting... but it's a hell of a lot of fun, when you find a nice secluded road, where you can let it breathe!

      Motorcycle Extremist , I put ketchup and tons of hot sauce on my steak to a point you don't see the steak, point being is you consume items like this as such, personal enjoyment. I ride an R1 every day and that thing never passed the 8 rpm, but I sure feel good on it, for my use I could ride a 125 cc Kymco but why? I'm an American I can ride an R1.
