I had to stop going op shopping at the moment I was coming away shaking my head and feeling angry at prices as well as quality in the clothing, just way to expensive and most items were rubbish. My daughter and i buy and donate all the time and we often see stuff we brought a few months before selling for double what we paid after we donated it back, its discusting. I'm 56 so I remember the good old days op shopping when most people wouldn't be caught dead in one and I got all the treasures, designer cloths, shoes and bags weren't priced higher, nothing over $3.00, was great to live in Australia then. Now most people are selling their good stuff and not donating them but I do find a few things in my local community centre op shops still, for now. So many have closed down near me and the big ones like Vinnies are not op shops anymore, they have second hand dealers license now, the CEO told me that when I rang to ask why a donated bag was $85.00. He also told people weren't donating money anymore so they have to make up for it through the shops. It's not a charity anymore, it's a business.
Hi Jo. Thanks for sharing your thriftiness adventures. Jo, the green skirt outfit is one of the most flattering outfits. You look stunning in it. Perfection! 😊💐
Here in Canada, I find many thrift shops are increasing their prices. I popped in to one yesterday, and had time finding anything under $10. Even fast fashion prices are priced incredibly high. I do not buy as much as before the pandemic. Also my taste is changing as I age. Love from across the pond! xx
Jo you must know all those home town racks so well; our shops don't often have that many new pieces to put out. I only look in when I have dropped off my own discards, but I think thrifting is downrated.... its an adventure each time and often finding that little treasure for a few $ is a buzz.
I love your videos Jo. Thrifting is my passion and I still do it despite the higher prices. There are still treasures out there. Oh and I love the tie.
Loved this video Jo❤The two pieces you found were gorgeous,i just love white silky flowing blouses and i love how you styled it with the black pant and tie💕I thought the way you styled up the skirt was so cute especially with your hair tied back…..One day Jo im sure the vintage will be back,on days when you least expect it 😂Awesome video💕🌸💕
Jo, so I googled searched the skirt and there was nothing on the skirt. The closest thing I found was a brick red skirt with boats and trains and it was from the 1940s on Etsy and it’s going for $300. It doesn’t have stripes it just has the pattern very cool find!
Loved the green jacket and the blue plaid jacket you found on the rail outside the store. The green skirt is also really nice. Green, shades of blue and purple make up the bulk of the clothes I wear the most so I always love those. Sounds like you are getting ready foe your Hawaii trip, love your packing and vacation weardrobe videos. Our Summer is over here and things are cooling off so I am starting to think Fall and Winter stuff. We get lots of snow in Winter so it is all about fun outter wear and layers. Sounds like you are getting ready for Spring. And yes.......one really good find at the thrift store is a good thrift haul!
This was so awesome watching you thrift at the places I sometimes get to go opshopping at as well 😍 Belmont and Swansea have some lovely opshops. I always find something cute at the Allira opshop at Belmont when I travel out there. Did you drop into the big Salvos and big Vinnies at Belmont? They sometimes have the cutest things. Warners Bay and Maitland have some fantastic opshops also, Maitland is further out but It's my favourite opshopping area for sure 💖 I agree that thrifting has gone quite down hill. I used to find so many awesome pieces that were in my style but the opshops seem so picked over now. I still love going opshopping and try to go at least once a week for a bit of a brain break from Uni and work, but I don't find all that many items like I once did. I love that green skirt too, so pretty. Thanks for this fun video. Always makes my Saturday morning so cosy watching your videos with my cup of coffee. ☕💖🥰

I hear you 🥰🥰🥰 I think it’s important that we don’t succumb to their ridiculous retail prices and stick only to their sale items. My max price for op shopping is $20 per item - unless it’s a vintage designer piece. I actually prefer retail shopping these days 🤷♀️
I used to go to thrift stores all the time. But I feel like people are not donating good stuff anymore. And I am more picky I guess. But I still love watching your videos. ❤🌸
Ah op shopping…. What can we say? I haven’t been for weeks and that’s so not me. I do have more than enough to wear and it’s all second hand, so I can’t complain! 🤷♀️😃 The wrap skirt looked great on you and I loved the interesting vintage style print on it.👌👌👌
Went to Dublin IN IRELAND the other day and went around the thrift shops, was shocked at the prices and the QUALITY OF THE VINTAGE CLLOTHES, THESE WAS TERRIBLE , VERY DISAPPOINTING, couldnt believe the dear prices and also in the west of ireland also, brought 6 items paid £32 in total one was a scarf for £4, a shawl £8 A YELLOW MINI DRESS/TOP IN LEMO £5, A PYJAMAS SILK BLUE PYJAMAS BOTOMS £4, A NICE SILKLY SHIRT WITH BLUE GREEN AND WHITE COLOURS £6, AND VINTAGE SUN GLASSES £5
