My dad would take me and my sister to Red Lobster on Halloween and my grandpa would takes us to Hometown Buffet on Sundays. Now, people view those places as “basic.” Crazy how times have changed
That list was actually made by a man on FB they cropped his name and pic out of the screenshot of the list, really sad how all of these skits/orchestrated nonsense get pushed as being real and then women get blamed for them
The real world consequences end up with BW being mistreated, shamed and men getting violent with us. But of course…that isn’t talked about even by other BW
I blame dating personalities of all genders. Women get on Tik Tok to tell other women how go fleece a man for his money, and all the Kevin Samuels clones talk on podcasts like it's impossible to go on a date if you don't make six figures.
My first date w my husband was Chinese food and a movie at his place. I was 22. I'm 37 and not much has changed. Except now we have a bunch of tiny people eating and watching w us
Me and my man been together 2+ years and we go to ALL these places as dates. Our first date was Sante Fe and it was amazing. It wasn’t about something boujie or extravagant because we were simply seeing if we’d vibe in person and we enjoyed each other. Idk whats wrong with this generation.

Whatever you do, do not fucking settle. I settled and am fucked right now. Just turned 30 this year and was feeling the same way 2 years ago. It’s not worth it. Love yourself!!!!!!!
These lists need to be categorized by age. A person in high school will have different if any income. That’s insane unless you are dating someone in the 1% wealthy families for high schoolers and probably college. Now 30s and up those expectations change..
These are the same people that when they were kids we looked at them and said “ these kids don’t know how to go outside and play and have fun!” They’re now grown and still don’t know how to have fun. 🤷🏿♀️

Courting means that you're intending to propose to the person. Y'all have to build up to "courting". Date first, get more serious then the courting phase begins. In between the dating aspect of a relationship (going out), you two should get to know each other on a deeper, spiritual level.
Well these days they are meeting up, having sex and sometimes ending up pregnant😂😂no such thing as courting, they’re having exchanges. Nobody wants to get to know each other anymore, men want sex and women want their bills paid according to tik tok😂😂
For me, some of those restaurants have food that's mid at best, it be too loud and not suitable for first date interactions. I'm not going to nobody's house & I always fall asleep at the movies.
Everything on the list i will do, because everything on the list is a very good time lit fun and very entertaining. Except for the family functions going to your house on a first date home cooked meals (not yet) and family events/reunions.
@@shawnee0718 except that going to house family functions and personal wanting to cook me a meal at his house, but everything else yes... I had to edit my comment people would think am crazy lol...
His house is definitely a no go, that's a good one. And yes I don't like the movies only because I wanna talk to the guy, I wanna know who is this I'm vetting. Ka-peesh?! Lol
Tbh the way social media is dating these days seem to consist of meeting a person, “catching a vibe”, having sex on the first date (may or may not get pregnant)and then moving in together😂😂. Whatever happened to getting to know people first.
I honestly think it depends on the type of dating you’re talking about. For people over the age of 25 that are seriously dating for marriage, I do think the guy should select a date to impress or be something she would want. That shows investment and intention. If you know I love ice cream and take me there that’s great! But if you just taking her to Applebees cause it’s cheap that’s a problem to me. I honestly believe where a man takes you and why shows how he feels about you. This doesn’t mean the more he spends the more he cares it’s all about intention.
It has ruined weddings, birthdays, and baby showers as well. I know people who have spent THOUSANDS on baby showers because they wanted that social media asthetic
It’s really not social media’s fault that dating has ruined the reality of dating. It’s y’all’s fault (IRL) for not having a mind of your own of what to consider a date.
I personally don't think it's wrong to want to go on a high-end date on the first date. I do think it's a problem if you're dating a broke person or a person who can't afford it. People need to date people who can fullfil their needs and wants. I think this world is way to comfortable expecting to much out of people who can't afford it. Date in areas where the men and women are on your level mentally, physically, financially and spiritually.
These skits and posts are just rage bait posts to create content. In real life the average woman is not acting this ridiculous. Our standards as a collective are still in the gutter 🤣🤣
@@sombodi200 there was screenshots of her on Facebook admitting it was a skit. One of those lists was made by a man pretending to be a woman. It’s all rage bait
I honestly love the Cheesecake Factory. Most of the things on that list, I personally didn't take offense to. Obviously I'm not going to your house on a first date and I don't care for the Waffle House that much, but everybody is different. 🤷🏾♀
Date within your tax bracket, thats what people need to do really. And to be honest depending on levels of attractiveness some women do have the ability to set their standards very high and expect them to be met. If a man can't meet it then he should just move on. It's really simple
Here’s the thing I don’t like Chili’s BUT if he took the time and made the effort to plan a date for us I’m going to fawkin Chilli’s…. I like all those things on that list except Chili’s and family functions on a first date 😂
For a first date I want something simple, coffee is fine for me. If I’m not feeling the person it makes it easier for me to walk away. Even though this is a skit social media got people thinking everyone has money.
The thing about her situation is that he picked a nice place but she made him wait an hour and they missed the reservation 😂 On a first date, its better to do a coffee date cuz why spend a long time with someone you may not even vibe with...
The majority of the list is ridiculous. There is _not a thing wrong_ with Cheesecake Factory, sporting events, bowling, ice cream, or the movies. Where can a working class man take you then? My rule of thumb is if I would take myself there or want to try something new we'd both enjoy, it's a go.
The double standards in the black community, when it comes to lifestyle standards and preferences is really appalling. BM can rap about how they are too good to wear certain clothes, shop at certain stores, eat at certain restaurants, drive certain cars, etc. without criticism from BM and BW. These male rappers, athletes, and entertainers flex on the middle and lower classes all the time and it’s accepted, but a few BW (because the majority of BW don’t have any standards), saying they prefer to go to upscale restaurants, where the food quality and kitchen regulations are top tier is a problem. The misogynoir is too real in the BC.
That skit goes to show you that its not alone BM who are out there trying to embarrass BW. There are super mammies who are out there as well. Girl code? Where?
My only issue is the following: Women who cannot afford a high end restaurant for themselves, but do expect a man to take them to high end restaurant. 😂 I am a lawyer and I can go to high end restaurants by myself. If a woman can take herself to a high end restaurant, she will absolutely EXPECT for her date to take her to a high end restaurant. But you have women who can only afford fast food restaurants, but expect their date to take them to a high end restaurant. By ma’am.
The point is that society has different standards for men and women. Women’s value is basic on beauty and her ability to reproduce and keep a home. Women’s values is not based on money. That’s why billionaires can go for an average woman and upgrade her. It’s MEN who are valued by how well they are able to provide and protect. Even ANIMALS MAINTAIN THAT ORDER
My first date with my husband was at Johnny rockets and we saw the movie instinct. We have been married for 11 years and together for 23 the restaurant should not matter. Stop trying to emulate these social media clowns
Why does every date need to include food ? What about skating, paint & sip, sporting events, fashion shows, haunted houses, paint ball, the escape rooms, or a play ?
I enjoyed your down to earth approach to dating. I think people are missing out on that it’s not that serious, and dropping money like that is pretty superficial. I mean, obviously don’t be cheap or whatever, but what’s wrong with dinner, a movie, or bowling??? lol. They gmfu! Hahah!

Ti inadvertently pointed out some of the issue while reminiscing - people are dating/marrying at later ages today! Dating as a 15 year old child and dating as 25 year old college grad with a full time job are two completely different animals!!! No shade, but if you haven’t dated as a grown adult in the era of dating apps and podcast bros, I don’t want to hear your opinions! I’m not trying to accommodate the men who go on 10 dates a week! If he wants to see me in person he better call/text/facetime me until he’s ready to do more than meet at Starbucks! Edit: And just to be clear, I see nothing wrong with $40 dinner dates (chili’s, Applebee’s, etc.)! And i’m sure 95% of other young Black women feel the same! This propaganda that all Black women are out here expecting Fogo de Chao on a 1st date is the real issue!
😂 & this is why our society is the way it is… dating is about getting to know someone. The experience. Going somewhere expensive means nothing, if you’re just trying to show off.

You brought up something I was thinking about. I wonder where *married women* say they had their first date?
Ma’am THATS YOU!! IF OTHER WOMEN CHIOSE NOT TO THATS THEM!!! LET PEOPLE HAVE THEIR STANDARDS
That’s cute 🥰 glad you’re still together
When I was little (in the 2000s) places like The Cheesecake Factory, Red Lobster, Hometown Buffet, etc. were deemed nice. My dad would take me and my sister to Red Lobster on Halloween and my grandpa would takes us to Hometown Buffet on Sundays. Now, people view those places as “basic.” Crazy how times have changed
Omg if we got pizza hut buffet I thought I was in heaven. These days things are out of wack
@@Shay416 I used to love when my mom took me to Pizza Hut. It was a luxury lol
@@LifeIsNotorious Right!
💯💯💯💯💯
I blame dating personalities of all genders. Women get on Tik Tok to tell other women how go fleece a man for his money, and all the Kevin Samuels clones talk on podcasts like it's impossible to go on a date if you don't make six figures.
The Cheesecake Factory is slept on heavy. Plus, they are not cheap either!
My first date w my husband was Chinese food and a movie at his place. I was 22. I'm 37 and not much has changed. Except now we have a bunch of tiny people eating and watching w us
You spoke nothing but the truth Ti.
Social media has ruined everything
Truly fucked it up cause 20 years ago dating was fun now at newly fresh 40 no thanks!
Take me to tha cheese cake factory…😂
Me and my man been together 2+ years and we go to ALL these places as dates. Our first date was Sante Fe and it was amazing. It wasn’t about something boujie or extravagant because we were simply seeing if we’d vibe in person and we enjoyed each other. Idk whats wrong with this generation.
I feel I need to hurry and start dating for marriage, I’m trying to avoid falling into the “take what you can get” mindset. But I don’t want my time wasted again. Sad because I don’t even care ebout expensive dinners. We can go sit on some grass in the sun and talk 😕
Are you willing to settle?
Girl it’s nothing left take your time
Whatever you do, do not fucking settle.
This woman is damn near 50, if not 50. Meaning at the very least she was born in the early 80’s.
I’m sure she played outside.
I have to agree with the person ☝🏽 above me I think the woman in the cheesecake video was in my generation Generation X or the oldest of the millennials she's just full of herself and high strung because the Internet be gassing women up
@@ddoubleu170More like the early 70's. I'm 52 I was born in "71" and we definitely played outside. Kids that didn't play outside was considered weird 🤷🏽♀️
I’m 26 and my first date was Cheesecake Factory lol and my second one was the movies! Idk what’s the problem with just having fun but people out here acting high and mighty
I was 28 when I had my first date with my now husband: movie and drinks afterwards. We talked all evening! It was a blast! 😍
Why was i cheesing thru lovelyti's storytime i want to see her do videos of her own personal storytimes of certain life experiences ♥.
Half the things on the list, I have no problem with. Let’s even go Roller Skating… it’s this new Generation 🤦🏽♀️
Personally, im also sick of theae attention grabbing gender war skits constantly dividing us. All these clout attention addicts and their need for attention 24/7.
Yeah it’s getting crazy. All of it is anti black and all of it is FAKE. Black folks need to get with the program - fake video skits with lists that BW didn’t create to make the whole community shame BW. When nothing actually happened
Deception is taking over and we can’t tell what’s real vs what is fake
Courting means that you're intending to propose to the person. Y'all have to build up to "courting". Date first, get more serious then the courting phase begins. In between the dating aspect of a relationship (going out), you two should get to know each other on a deeper, spiritual level.
Well these days they are meeting up, having sex and sometimes ending up pregnant😂😂no such thing as courting, they’re having exchanges. Nobody wants to get to know each other anymore, men want sex and women want their bills paid according to tik tok😂😂
That date y’all went on Ti is actually kinda cute 😂🤣🤣 something I would do as a teen.
For me, some of those restaurants have food that's mid at best, it be too loud and not suitable for first date interactions. I'm not going to nobody's house & I always fall asleep at the movies.
Ti is wilin out in this video 🤣 Yall got her and me messed up! Thank God I'm a 80s baby chile
First dates should be very casual. I once went to Starbucks for coffee, and it was very nice.
Everything on the list i will do, because everything on the list is a very good time lit fun and very entertaining. Except for the family functions going to your house on a first date home cooked meals (not yet) and family events/reunions.
I am not going to your house or family nothing for the first date, did you see Family or Fiance on OWN?😂😂😂
@@shawnee0718 except that going to house family functions and personal wanting to cook me a meal at his house, but everything else yes... I had to edit my comment people would think am crazy lol...
Girl, me and my now husband use to ef that triple play at Chili’s up 😅Good times 2000s era!!!
I miss when we didn't have to film every interaction we had..You go on dates to collect data and have fun. I miss the movies and the mall dates
Mm hmm! 💯💯
I'm glad I haven't dated or dealt with any man 5 years. It doesn't matter if they have money or broke the vast majority are shallow and selfish.
Even Fogo de Chão has an all day happy hour menu in some locations. They have food items and liquor from about $4 per item.
What you accept at 15 yr old should not be what we still accept at 35 .
His house is definitely a no go, that's a good one. And yes I don't like the movies only because I wanna talk to the guy, I wanna know who is this I'm vetting. Ka-peesh?! Lol
Enjoy your videos, Ti! I make sure to drink my cinnamon tea while watching you.
A few of those things on the list were off the wall first date ideas. Your house, a three hour drive, a family function. That’s way too wild
It has ruined weddings, birthdays, and baby showers as well. I know people who have spent THOUSANDS on baby showers because they wanted that social media asthetic
I can’t believe this is an issue. Date people who are okay eating where you want to eat. It’s not rocket science. Geez.
It’s really not social media’s fault that dating has ruined the reality of dating. It’s y’all’s fault (IRL) for not having a mind of your own of what to consider a date.
I ❤ the Cheesecake Factory! And bowling, Applebee's, Red Lobster all that. This generation needs to stop playing 😂
@14:55, that was me in high school, with my Spider-Man voice, like “heyyyy…” 😅
Auntie we need another event, I miss you and the discord fam 🥹❤️
These skits and posts are just rage bait posts to create content. In real life the average woman is not acting this ridiculous. Our standards as a collective are still in the gutter 🤣🤣
It's not an skit. That lady and man did another video confirming it was a real date on an interview.
@@sombodi200 there was screenshots of her on Facebook admitting it was a skit. One of those lists was made by a man pretending to be a woman.
It’s all rage bait
Ti over there sparkling like a diamond
I honestly love the Cheesecake Factory. Most of the things on that list, I personally didn't take offense to. Obviously I'm not going to your house on a first date and I don't care for the Waffle House that much, but everybody is different. 🤷🏾♀
Fogo de Choa is amazing and I take myself often. Pampas is also really good
Date within your tax bracket, thats what people need to do really.
You know when we need a video from you 💜
The thing about her situation is that he picked a nice place but she made him wait an hour and they missed the reservation 😂 On a first date, its better to do a coffee date cuz why spend a long time with someone you may not even vibe with...
Appreciate the little things in life with people you have that have a genuine interest in you. Especially the way this world is going.
A skit is power thanks Ti for speaking on it!
🎯🎯🎯
They've done an interview together, this was NOT a skit at all. They even told how they met.
That skit goes to show you that its not alone BM who are out there trying to embarrass BW. There are super mammies who are out there as well. Girl code? Where?
Wow thats crazy. My husband and I first date was to the movies and went to a burrito spot. That’s was in 2018.
It wasn’t a skit she came back on to try and clear her name and they did an interview together
IT WAS A SKIY! IT’S BEEN CONFIRMED!!!
It’s all ages…30s 40s and up!
Well I see anime & comic book conventions wasn’t on the list also food trucks 👀 😂
Thanks T that was a cute innocent date stories
My only issue is the following:
Women who cannot afford a high end restaurant for themselves, but do expect a man to take them to high end restaurant. 😂
I am a lawyer and I can go to high end restaurants by myself.
Sporting events and bowling is pn the list not all of them are food places
It’s a new date… we’re going to hell in ah hand basket…Fast!
I enjoyed your down to earth approach to dating. I think people are missing out on that it’s not that serious, and dropping money like that is pretty superficial. I mean, obviously don’t be cheap or whatever, but what’s wrong with dinner, a movie, or bowling??? lol. They gmfu! Hahah!
Lol I'm not apart of that foolishness of from dating on SM.
Like damn this is wild how people's standards are in the dumpster.
Yet, "Oscar the Grouch" has better standards of who stays around his trashcans. 😂😂
Anyway....
My birthday was yesterday too! I turned 28 (: I would love "birthday shout-outs ❤❤. I would greatly appreciate it! (:
Shiddddd take me out to them places. Those women are just ridiculous...
I would love to go to the CHEESECAKE FACTORY! That bih is exclusive af.
I'd love a Starbucks, sports game or Jamba juice date.
I'm just surprised red lobster on the list with all the Beyonce minions. Didn't she rap "if he do me good I take his ass 2 red lobsters." I thought the minions followed the idol. Guess not. Baby u can pass them biscuits over here I'll eat em😂
Chile. Im along for the ride on that whole list except his house/church/family functions. Hell. Im down for a nice picnic. 🤷🏾♀️
The one and only place I’m not going on a first date is to my house or his house.
Edit:
And just to be clear, I see nothing wrong with $40 dinner dates (chili’s, Applebee’s, etc.)! And i’m sure 95% of other young Black women feel the same! This propaganda that all Black women are out here expecting Fogo de Chao on a 1st date is the real issue!
Right! Skits definitely have real world consequences. I'm not with these bougie first dates either.
Yo I was not ready for the Apple Bees Joke. Literally messed up myself. Out of curiosity who is keeping Apple Bees in business?
Also,NOBODY ELSE should be Your "COUPLE GOAL"___(Including famous people!)
😂 & this is why our society is the way it is… dating is about getting to know someone. The experience. Going somewhere expensive means nothing, if you’re just trying to show off.
I was craving Rudy's Chicken in Dallas Texas on the day of my Date Im not sure where we were headed But I asked if he minded that we go there he asked was i sure 😂 i said yes i could see the excitement in his eyes😂 my meal was like $10 and with his maybe 22$😂
That's cute! I love the little things like that. The excitement in his eyes. It's the little things.
