I couldn't agree more. I was different from the other kids when I was @ sch as my parents wud take us travelling around India. The sch teachers used to tell me that I was more worldly than they were themselves!!! As an adult I went back to India and did a 3 year travel stint on my own And learnt soooo much. I'm a travel addict 😊
Have a good trip. I used to take my kids every October to Disney and we spent our summers at the beach in Maine. We lived two states away. Best memories ever. We also n went to Washington DC every year. Do it while you can. You'll soon be my age and won't be able to do it anymore.
I want to go and live in a different country before I get too old to travel. But what exactly is too old to travel though? My friends Grandma was flying from Florida to Hawaii at the age of 87. I guess it's an Individual thing. Re my mother is 84 and has cancer and lives in a nursing home. Perhaps I just wanna settle elsewhere before I have less limitations
I admire your planning. The day by day logistics of a large family takes a lot of planning and so the logistics of traveling with so many of you overseas proves how incredible you both are. It's awesome that you can do this for the kids. I had a little giggle when you asked 'does anyone elses husband just takes off. When I was 13 and my sister was 15 our parents took us on a holiday of a lifetime from our home in New Zealand to America in particular California, San Diego, New York and Hawaii. Our flight into New York was late so we arrived at our hotel at about 12:30am due to delays. We hadn't eaten lunch or dinner and my parent's refused to pay the hotel restaurant prices so Dad who has travelled extensively for work took us out in the city centre to find something to eat. He marched off with Mum, my sister and I trying to catch up being shocked by people begging, sleeping on the subway grates and night workers (we had never seen that at that point in time). He suddenly realised that it wasn't safe for his two teenage daughters and wife so he rushed us back to the hotel and we had apple pie at the hotel restaurant. Both my parent's passed away in the past three years so thank you for bringing back a much repeated family adventure. I hope you have an awesome time making special memories with your precious family. Xx
