For anyone wondering why learning how to go horizontally with him is so important, he tends to approach you from above/below MUCH more often than he approaches from the side to go vertically with him.
While this is true, this isn't really the main reason to do horizontal. There's two good reasons to switch off going up/down, the body and flight time. As you can see you really have to purposefully walk into the body to ever touch it with horizontal, whereas with vertical you can easily ram through him, and still be in his body by the time ram i frames end. You also do a lot more flying with vertical, whereas horizontal, with enough practice you can do with very very little flight, and even without practice you don't run out often.
In the third phase does it always do five ghost dashes and then on the sixth become real, I always end up dashing too early on the last one because I don't know if its going to be the slow dash or not.
basically, have him charge you in a 45 degree angle. after he charges you, ram dash in the direction of the portal and dog should curve back into a horizontal (to make it easier to remember, imagine a triangle. the portal always spawns above your head so fall at the 45 degree and dash inwards, like your making a triangle)

@@Leprosyhaver not gonna lie for me vertical is easier because he gets out of the loop less often
nevermind he mostly does horizontal
3:20 the timing was so perfect that we could think your dash actually cut him
you are actually a life saver ive spent so many hours wondering how to do this and this will help alot
Xeroc bless you for this guide, I just beat DoG today (which is my 3rd day of attempts)
Tysm, this guide was super helpful, probably one of the 2 reasons I was able to beat this wormy bastard
Thank you so much! Im am 150+ attempts in and am still struggling to figure out how to do the constistent vertical god slayer dash.
same omg 😭😭
3:22 you rammed his head off
damn, thank you. Got from hardly 50% to a 20% easily
Thanks for the guide this is really helpfull
im trying to do this but he keeps attacking horizontally?
What happened to all the side slicing laser walls he used to do that were so difficult because he would do them while directly attacking?

should i use Virid Vanguard or is the whell better?
gah tysm this worked so well and i beat him
holy shit
how do ur dashes recover much faster
How do I get him horizontal again after he does that star teleport attack?

@@astrea2you are a lifesaver thanks
Getting to 20% isn’t the hard part imo (anymore)
Its the dashes
Thank you user Leprosy haver
great, great, now get the beat it without dashing achievement
the nuclear terror's gauntlet drop can let you beat dog without it, along with the shield of the high ruler which is probably easier
Use dragon rage

This mf just ignores immune frames when it attacks horizontaly...
"easier" he's literally not doing it.
