I love the thick polyrhythms. Hypnotically precise playing. Can't wait to hear whatever will come next, The Common Task was one of my favourites last year.
I'm thinking either Shpongle, Radiohead, or Keller Williams would be good matches for a tour with Horse Lords. Also, Medeski, Martin, and Wood would be an excellent mashup. Seeing HLs live would be insane!!
If you like this, and haven't gotten into Black MIDI, you'd probably love that as well. If these two bands did a song together, the universe might explode. ruclips.net/video/QyWH8CPwp7E/видео.html

I use microtonal fingerings to nail pitches in between standard 12 tone equal temperament, but as the others note, a lot of intonation work is done by the embouchure (and ear), whether you're playing microtonally or not.

It can be hard to hear at first, but once you let it in, it can become immersive and enjoyable. It's like trying a cuisine that's completely new to you. If you go in with an open mind, you might find something you like. It might not all be gratifying or understandable at once, but if you find one or two things you like, it could introduce you to something new and exciting.

Is the saxophone also adjusted for just intonation? It would have to be custom built right? Not as simple as changing the frets on a guitar/bass
Been wondering that too, I guess you can accommodate those intervals with embouchure??
**also looking at the mouthpiece/neck, maybe something there too, pulled out further than normal or something?
you don't tune a saxophone, the player has to tune every note they play, whatever de temperament is, just like a fretless instrument.
I use microtonal fingerings to nail pitches in between standard 12 tone equal temperament, but as the others note, a lot of intonation work is done by the embouchure (and ear), whether you're playing microtonally or not.
