idk where i can improve, i think my playstyle almost the same like you. I mostly win 1st match, 2nd and 3rd match i lose because opponent read me too easily. sometimes my head jammed hahahaha. I am hard stuck Shinryu but I also play like few matches only a week, less than 15matches.
Who is your main? I play pretty neutral compared to other Yoshi mains cuz that’s just gets the job done for me but every now and there I’ll play a little chaotic lol. Try and switch up what you’re doing to keep your opponent guessing. Throw a couple quick moves to poke at them and see how they react to it. I like to throw out whiffs too cuz it usually provokes some kind of reaction that will catch them on a follow up attack. I also don’t play too often. Maybe like a couple days out of the week & I don’t play ranked as often any more cuz I’ll go on like a 10 game win streak and I’ll barely advance, lose one match and I’m getting demoted lol. Too many people also plug in ranked now. I had three promotion matches this week that I was about to win and they plugged on me. So I play quick match more often. Those matches are less pressure, more fun and you can experiment and find what works and what doesn’t without any consequence
