He is a lazy character who randomly assumes that mikami is kira's accomplice.

@@rose_blue1the anime buthered the part 2, it literally cut over half of the dialogue, inner thoughts and scenes. For reference part 2 is around as long as part 1 but they heavily condensed it into 11 episodes. Every detection or strategy Near uses makes sense in the manga

Near exploits his opponents strategy and weaknesses and he uses them against them. He then turns the tables against his opponent. Near is a devastating weapon.

8:30 about what you said on when it is best to use intuition, isn't that supposed to be the opposite: When you have a lot of information it becomes easy to apply concious reasoning as it will allow you to connect information. Whereas if you have less to almost no information, reasoning becomes difficult as we don't have much information to connect, so leaving us with the only option, intuition. (Near also used intuition to figure out who X-kira is, because he didn't have any information for that matter).

You planning a video on Mello? IIRC, the authors had to make him commit a foolish mistake simply because if they didn't, he'd have been too effective and solved the case.
I might the manga for that one.
Mello is very underrated
@@gloves6807 He was badly underutilized. The second arc of death note really had issues compared to the first. Should have had an ending more like the japanese live action films- which I believe was the original intention.
@@jonwander1186 yeah thing about Mello was that he had a kind of refreshing vibe in contrast to the other characters. I was hoping he would appear more often

People fail to see this exact thing. I believe L was smarter than Near as a solo guy but Near was far better at using others to his advantage kinda like light and willing to take more risks that's what I personally believe made him better than L atleast in terms of solving the Kira case. He played Lights own game against him and won. I like to think Near solves his cases kinda like being a master at chess and knowing when to use his pieces and when to pull them back and the way he plays with the figurines of people fits him well.
